Surrounded by trees with privacy, this cottage has 2 bedroom/2 bath and loft area with twin bed. The screened in deck is perfect for early morning coffee and listening to the birds chirping in the woods. The cottage is close to all amenities and a two minute drive to the scenic Schoodic Loop road in the Acadia National Park section on the Schoodic Peninsula. We have hiking/biking paths, kayaking and the quaint fishing villages of Winter Harbor, Birch Harbor and Corea. Nearby restaurants, grocery stores, galleries, golf course, etc. Mt. Desert is a mere hour's drive away or take the ferry from Winter Harbor. We have it all! We are open all year round and already booking for 2027. Sandy and Bob were great - available but unobtrusive. The house was a great place to spend a couple weeks in the summer, and the very quick internet connection made working very easy. 10/10, would stay there again (and already have plans to do so).

The cottage was just lovely. It was a very comfortable place to stay and had everything we needed. The bed was nice and comfy too. Highly recommend. Very close to Schoodic which is nice for hiking and spending time in the park. Winter Harbor is a great place to stay and has some good restaurants. We look forward to staying again.

We absolutely loved our stay. Sandy went above and beyond preparing the cottage for us. It feels like you’re walking into a well loved home. All the small finishing touches she put on everything. She thought of everything you possibly could need during our stay. From items to keep busy on a rainy day, maps and information on surrounding area, spices and directions how to prepare your own lobster. The cabin was immaculately clean and the beds were comfortable. I loved having my coffee in the screened room every morning. The cabin is in a beautiful area. This will be a new yearly tradition for us.

Great week at Winter Harbor

We had a great stay in Winter harbor. The location was perfect. It was just a super short drive to Schoodic Point. The house was great, and was exactly as advertised.

Wonderful stay - great location!

Perfect size for the 4 of us, quiet location but close enough to restaurants, park etc. Very clean and well stocked. Great communication from host. Would definitely recommend!

Cute little cottage in the woods

The owners were very helpful in every way. The cottage was right off of the road with plenty of privacy. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you would possibly need while staying there. Very nice place to stay!

Quiet and relaxing

The cabin is in a peaceful setting among the trees. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, & we loved the screened in porch. It was definitely worthwhile to stay on the quiet side of Acadia!

Great quiet location

Loved our entire stay. Very convenient to the quiet side of Acadia and not a bad drive to Mt. Desert Island. Lots to do in the area that kept us busy for our entire stay. My youngest loved the loft area, he took this over as his room. Very clean and well stocked. Would most definitely stay here again.

Delightful Haven

Beautiful cottage, comfortable, tastefully decorated and thoughtfully stocked with everything you need for a perfect getaway. A tranquil place to unwind in the charming small town of Winter Harbor. The Schoodic Pennisula is gorgeous with great hiking and wonderful views.

Fabulous Cottage

The cottage is tastefully furnished and generously supplied. The beds and seating are comfortable. The property was neat and clean. The hosts are thoughtful and easy to communicate with. We had a wonderful stay. We highly recommend this property.

Home away from home

Beautiful cottage and gardens fully appointed and equipped as one’s own home in an ideal location for exploring Acadia’s Schoodic Point Peninsula and its scenic coastal fishing villages. Owners are the most attentive, accommodating and helpful.

Cozy, clean and welcoming

Acadia Woodland Cottage was clean and cozy, had everything we needed. Appreciated all of the cozy touches - throws for chilly evenings, books and games and art on display from a local artist :) Especially enjoyed the rocking chairs on the screened porch for morning coffee and the proximity to the quiet side of Acadia Natl Park.

The property was clean and beautiful. There was extra little touches everywhere. Close to the road but still off the beaten path. It was very impressive. We loved it!!

Best cottage and great location

This cottage was wonderful. It was meticulous, fully stocked and quiet. The enclosed porch sealed the deal. Very convenient to Schoodic (Acadia). Just bring yourself and enjoy the surroundings. Sandy is a great host. Thank you for making our trip so pleasant.

Perfect!

The home is adorable and very comfortable. Spent a wonderful week hiking, cooking, and exploring with my best friend. The home had all the amenities including a washer and dryer. Both Bob and Sandy were excellent hosts with great local recommendations. We highly recommend a stay.

Great stay in Winter Harbor

We had a very nice stay at this beautiful home in Winter Harbor. The place was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Lots of light, comfortable beds and even a welcome of a bottle of wine, accompanied by cheese and crackers. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was a grassy area in the back bordered by the woods where our dog could run a bit and chase a ball. Overall, highly recommend.

Bob and I began planning and building this house as a seasonal rental in 2020. Bob is the designer and builder and he has done an excellent job on this beautiful two bedroom, two bathroom home including a full kitchen, eating and living area, lovely upstairs loft which includes a twin bed, games, and desk in case you need to work! The location is surrounded by beautiful trees and the deer love to wander by. We are also close to many places to visit in any direction. Photographers will find numerous light houses, eagles, deer, turkeys, sunrises and sunsets, and beaches galore, all within a short ride up and down the coast. We hope you will enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings. We are very close to the Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park and an hour's drive to the Main area of Acadia in Mount Desert Island for more panoramic views of the Atlantic. If you don't feel like driving, Winter Harbor has a ferry over to Bar Harbor and once there, lots of free buses to take one all over the island! And, after a full day of touring Bar Harbor's beautiful attractions, one can come back to the Schoodic peninsula's peace and slower pace.

If you're here for rest and relaxation or, looking to explore the beautiful Maine coastline, you've found the right place. There are so many hiking and biking trails, lakes, and kayaks can be rented nearby if you'd like to explore the many harbors and bays.
