Wonderful!

This place was lovely, quiet, and private! We loved our stay. We did arrive 45 minutes early and the toilet was not cleaned, it had feces on it.

Bend Getaway

Had a bit of a sterile feel like I was renting the property from a virtual person or a property management company. Nice apartment in pretty gated community. A bit weird with the gates and the locks and no personal touch. Great bed and bedding! Overall good spot for the cost.

Gated community

If you want security this is a quiet and safe place. However, if you plan on being out past 8pm be prepared to have a difficult time getting in the gate. Each night we had to call in at the kiosk and the last night took a longer than usual time to get in. Not the place if you want to be if you are out late. Also the headboard on the bed is situated so that the pillows fall through. It is ok but we probably won’t be staying there again.

Super Simple

Easy access, basic, safe, clean accommodations. This no frills, pet friendly "apartment" worked perfectly when our family needed extra bed space over the holidays.

Perfect weekend getaway for 2

If you follow the directions getting your pass and getting into the different locks is really straightforward thanks to messages explaining the process. When we walked in the house was very clean and inviting. It’s a cozy little place with one bedroom, bathroom and a pullout bed in the sofa. There is a mini fridge, microwave, sink, and dishware. The nest thermostat was great for customizing to our preferences and the bed was very comfortable. We took a little walk around the golf course and it was really nice. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Suite in a golf course

This is a suite in a condo in a gated private golf resort. It was functional as a place to stay in Bend, but was not really convenient for walking or biking to any Bend attractions. You will not have access to resort amenities. This is listed by Vacasa - read the vacasa listing before booking as the VRBO listing is not accurate with regards to amenities. Specifically, there is one parking space and Vacasa will recommend that if there is an additional vehicle that you park it at Deschutes brewery over a mile away. The actual local manager was helpful. Also, there is another rental upstairs. There was a dog left alone that was howling while we were there. Maybe you will not be as unlucky.

Small unit

Very disappointed. Better to go to a hotel and enjoy room service. It was clean but very musty. We ended up moving out early and renting another place. Please buy new pillows they are flat as a pancake and provide kitchen cleaning products so you can wash dishes.

Not exactly what we expected…

Not sure where to start, but a lot of misinformation and/or information that was not clarified. First off, there are multiple entrances but you need to speak to the gate attendant. The attendant will then take your information and you a pass. You need to show them your pass each time you enter and if the attendant is not there after hours you need to call or punch a number at the gate pad to be connected to the attendant. The attendant is NOT present 24hrs. The description of the unit notes one parking available: driveway or garage: there is a car parked in the garage (assume the owner) and parking is not guranteed - if you have a truck you cannot park in the driveway- you will block the other unit. The unit had hair in the bathroom corners and on a towel; Otherwise, the unit was clean - I did not “5” upon receiving a text asking about the cleanliness of the unit - the hairs were discovered upon using the facility. The person in unit A above, had Gordon Lightfoot so loud we had to turn our tv up but got to the point where we had to contact Vacasa - not what you expect when paying for a vacation. Vacasa informed us they cannot do anything but contact/message the local office and relay the message and have them contact management. They suggested we call the police, which we did not, nor would we - especially in a gated community. I will add the next day his music was lower, but paper thin walls there is nothing that can be done. I thought we would recieve a follow-up from Vacasa but no follow up. In the end, first and last time using Vacasa do to customer service and not what we expected.

Coming from California, I had no clue what to expect and could only go off of the listing and description for choosing a place to stay. Upon arrival we were immediately taken back by the fact that the size of this place is grossly misrepresented. First, it is a dual unit, two locked off vacation rentals as part of one apartment/condo. The upstairs is a large unit and the bottom is a small 1 bedroom kitchenette. The listing says you will have the unit to yourself, but does not note that it is below another rental which was very very noisy. The listing also says it is 800 square feet. After measuring the apartment, we determined it was 320 square feet, about the size of a hotel room. I could tell it was a simple unit from the photos, but those can sometimes be deceiving so I figured there were spaces that weren’t in the photos. Not the case. In fact there’s a photo of the top floor balcony, not part of this rental at all. I would have never rented a hotel room sized kitchenette for 4! The couch did not even seat 3 comfortably, there was very little room for our things, and if you use the fold out couch you can’t walk around the unit because it takes up the entire room. That’s how small this place is. The listing also says there is coin laundry on site but there is not. We called the rental company repeatedly after check in about the size and the laundry issue and got no response. After over a week of calling and escalating this situation we were offered a $60 refund.

Unresolved problems

We arrived after the gatehouse closed and the access code did not work. My husbands was sitting on the side to put shoes on the bed and the frame broke, we had to move out a day early as it wasn’t fixed, we have not had any resolution with owner or Vrbo. The property owner was not available or willing to help with the problem
