My first contact with the reviewer who booked via an agency was a few days prior to arrival. She insisted that beach chairs be provided despite the fact that they are not offered as an amenity. In the interest of customer service, we loaned 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas; subsequently 2 chairs and 1 umbrella were broken. When contacted the second time on 11/14 at 8:06 am, the day before their departure, she requested the immediate delivery of toilet paper. I explained, as per the listing herein, that all our villa owners provide start up amenities only. It was during this conversation that she asked why there was no notice on the website that there are renovations ongoing next door. In Miami post surgery, my last visit to Pelican was the day of their arrival. At that time, there was neither evidence, nor any visible indication, that renovations were about to start across the road. Staff advised that the Monday after their arrival, works commenced and it was noisy. I apologized for all inconvenience and as per standard procedure, a note was added to the website. At the same time, having been told that the group was celebrating collective birthdays, staff delivered 4 new beach chairs, an umbrella, as well as two bottles of Prosecco. I likewise had staff deliver additional toilet paper. With respect to the TV's, all were tested and working on Saturday morning on final inspection. The LR TV was discovered burnt out that afternoon, the result of a suspected brown out. It was immediately replaced with an even larger flat screen. The bedroom TV's lost service through no fault of the villa owner. Our previous service provider was/is having problems across the island and many homes found themselves without TV and/or internet for the whole week. Fortunately, a different provider is used for internet at our villas. While TV service was restored as soon as we could get the provider in, we have now changed all villas to a new supplier and reception/service is excellent. There was one safe that did not open, located in the Master bedroom. When the supervisor arrived at the villa, it was discovered that the door had been closed with force, causing the battery to fall out. This rendered it inoperable. The battery pack was restored to position and as a precaution, we left them the master key. Pelican Vista is a great luxury rental, excellent value for money, as previous testimonials attest. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience while the neighbors build their pool.
