The host was quick to respond.Note: bedroom 2 is inside bedroom 1. Also, bedroom 5 is in a mother in law suite, it’s not attached to the house (along with the futon. Futon on bottom floor, and stairs to bedroom 5 are outside). Love the architecture of the home, unfortunately for us there was a big problem with flies for some reason. We killed at least 100 flies per day. The host did sent a couple of fly traps, but there has to be an issue somewhere that needs maintenance because every day we killed all the flies and the same amount were back inside the next day. The host did say pest services would be called, we’re confident that problem will be addressed.

House was great for our large group. Was definitely historic, so be prepared for small things like creaky windows doors, etc. we had some issues w the pool but the host was quick to find a solution and even offered a treat for our inconvenience.

The house needs a major cleaning inside and out. The pictures posted online are truly misleading and do not represent how run down this house is. Yes we read the reviews before we booked but it’s obvious that they pick only the house reviews that are on the better side. When you read through the house guest book you see that many people have tried to tell the hosts the many problems that exist with this property to make it better. The millions of electric cords, the dingy furniture (not retro), the showers that aren’t really showers, beds that are not comfortable and poor pillows. The outside needs much tender loving care from the decking to the seating it’s gross and not taken care of. The pool was not cleaned until our last full day there even though it was supposed to be cleaned earlier in our visit. The games they advertised were half broken and very used. The tv’s in most rooms didn’t work at all or took a hour to get hooked up even with a tech savvy person. Yes this place could be a “real gem” if only it was taken care of better. The kitchen would be amazing but there is a huge crack in the counter that they tried to patch up which had wet caulk on it. It would also be nice to have extra sheets on hand for each bed so that you didn’t have to do so much laundry. I would not recommend staying here.

First of all, we had a wonderful time at the house, and that is ultimately what matters most. We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the character and charm of the property.That said, I do think the house needs some attention and repairs. The outdoor hangout area, in particular, is in desperate need of maintenance. The cushions were extremely dirty and faded, and there was a significant amount of debris from the surrounding trees. A simple cleaning and blowing of the area before our arrival would have made a noticeable difference.Inside, we understand that the home is older and has a lot of character, but several of the lights were not working. It also appeared that there may be an underlying electrical issue that should be investigated.Most concerning, and something I feel is important to mention for the safety of future guests, is that both of my children received an electrical shock when they touched the metal front gate. This was extremely concerning and should be addressed immediately by a qualified electrician. I would strongly recommend having the gate and surrounding electrical system inspected before guests stay at the property.Again, we genuinely had a wonderful time and would like to emphasize that the issues above did not prevent us from enjoying our stay. However, addressing the maintenance, cleanliness, and especially the electrical concerns would significantly improve the property and provide a safer and more comfortable experience for future guests.

Great Trip!

Our family enjoyed our 4 night stay! Great location to the Alamo, Riverwalk and the Quarry. Beautiful and comfortable home, great for a family like ours or a group!

Nice Property, Well Maintained, Good Location

We had a good stay. This is an older home in a great location. I feel it’s fairly well maintained and has a lot of historical vibes. I would probably stay here again. The house was large had plenty of space.

Girls Trip!

We rented the house for a girls trip, we had so much fun. The house was awesome, close to downtown. It was a very easy check in. I would stay here again!

San Antonio Spring Break

This is a super cool Spanish house from the 30s with many modern amenities. It has the charm of an older house but the feel of a remodeled/more recent house. The owners were extremely accommodating and responsive throughout the booking process and our stay. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay!

Great place to stay for a trip

The house is very nicely located so that most things to do in San Antonio are a 10-15 minute drive away. The hosts are very quick to respond to messages and very nice. Over all is was a good experience for my family.

Home was great

We really enjoyed our stay. It was close to the Riverwalk and made it super easy to get to all the things we wanted to do. Plenty of space to hang out in the house. Would rent this again when I come back
