Our stay at Villa Maria was exceptional - one of the most stunning places we’ve visited. The property offered a bit of everything: serene walking paths, cozy relaxation spots, breathtaking views, a swimming pool, outdoor kitchen and dining area, and even a collection of animals - chickens, goats, and bunnies. For those missing their pets, Gioia, the friendly golden lab, was always nearby to keep us company.Leonardo, along with his mother Lorena and nonna, extended a level of hospitality that far exceeded our expectations. Their warmth and attentiveness made us feel instantly welcomed, cared for, and completely at home. The villa itself is spectacular. Each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom, the kitchen is fully equipped, and there are quiet nooks for reading, lovely artwork, and plenty of space—peaceful, comfortable, and perfect for our family of five.A highlight of our stay was an in-home meal prepared by Leonardo and Lorena. It featured an olive oil tasting from their own farm, a delicious antipasto, and handmade tagliatelle with a rich meat sauce. Even the wine came from their vineyards—everything was fresh, flavorful, and deeply memorable.Leonardo went above and beyond by offering recommendations for local restaurants, grocery shopping, hiking trails, and more. Florence was just a short 15–20 minute drive away. Since we weren’t familiar with navigating Italian streets, we parked at a nearby bus station and took the bus into the city—it was simple & affordable.
