TREETOP CABIN @Hidden Valley Campgrd; connect with nature and hill country views

Nothing fancy to see here! We are doing our best to work with Nature as we create our home and open our 14 acres of raw beautiful land to guests.

We have 18 hole disc golf, yoga dome, hammocks, trails, fossil hunting, a Spring, etc!

The Treetop Cabin sits a hundred feet away from any other structure and has a patio overlooking the Texas Hill Country. The land provides an opportunity to connect with Nature.

Location allows easy access to Hill Country attractions.

The space:

The Treetop Cabin is a small (maybe even tiny!) cabin that has everything you need for a getaway. A small kitchen (with a stove, sink, and minifridge) that runs right into the living room. The ladder takes you up to the sleeping loft with a queen sized Tempurpedic mattress. The tall side of the loft, where the ladder enters is 7’ tall and graduates down towards the head of the bed. The compact bathroom has a shower, sink, and composting toilet. The cabin opens up onto a large deck on the edge of the hill with some lovely Hill Country sights and sounds.

The cabin is on raw Hilly Country land, which means incredible beauty, yet untamed. It is a 500 foot hike from parking.

1-2 children could be included in the rental as well with 2 adults.

Guest access:

The property includes our 14 acres open for exploration! We have hiking trails, our own private fresh water Spring for swimming, 18 hole disc golf, hammocks, a communal kitchen and social area, etc.

The 14 acre property is open for exploration, including a fresh water spring, hammock hangs, picnic tables, some hiking trails, 18-hole disc golf course, and even some fossil and artifact hunting.

On the property, we have a full community kitchen available to all guests. Including grill, cookware, spices, Pitboss smoker, sink, a fridge, etc.

There is also a communal covered social space. Here you can find books, art supplies, and games.

The neighborhood is a "country" neighborhood: private gravel road, multi-acre properties spaced out, with friendly neighbors all enjoying the peace of Hill Country living.

A great place to stay for two

Peaceful and cozy, with a great view. There are lots of fun things to explore on the property.

Peaceful easy feeling

We stayed in Treetop for a long weekend. The cabin was exactly as described on a nice piece of property. Our hosts were very kind. We will be back!

Great place to relax and be away from the city

We loved everything about the stay. The treetop cabin was very clean and cozy. The hike down to the spring was fun and rough, we absolutely enjoyed exploring the area. I would recommend updated pictures since they don't capture how cool that cabin is. We would absolutely go again.

Respite from the City

Great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The tree top cabin had a fantastic view and was very comfortable. Several walking trails to explore and community spaces to stretch out. The hosts are available and helpful. We definitely plan to return!

Beautiful!

I loved this place - beautiful view, quiet, and a sky full of stars. The cabin had everything I needed, and my hosts were very friendly and accommodating. I plan on heading back the first chance I get. The location is also very nice - close enough to convenience but far enough out too. 10/10 would recommend.

Easter Weekend Mixup

This property was a pleasant surprise. The owner's description and instructions were on point for the Treetop Cabin. We loved the community kitchen and library, but truly enjoyed the personal touches that you could see across the property. Great spot for a weekend at Enchanted Rock. Thanks so much for your hospitality.

Tranquil, Cozy, and plenty of fun activities to do on the property

My girlfriend and I stayed on the property with our dog and had the best time. Our favorite part was hanging out at the spring under the sun while our dog splashed around in the water. There was also a yoga dome with equipment where we were able to have some nice morning atreches with an amazing view. The property is in a perfect location to get away from the city with a small commute to Johnson city and Blanco to explore the small towns. 10/10 would recommend for anyone trying to get away from the city and closer to nature.

Hideaway With a View

The property sits atop a quiet little hill. It has a relaxing atmosphere with a connection to nature. The view was amazing with small glimpses of wildlife and a chance to find a fossil or two. The cabin was well kept with a relaxed atmosphere. This is a great place to unwind and take a break from the rush of day to day life. The property managers were responsive and accomodating. The property is within a good distance to a number of state parks and sites but also has its own amenities. We are definite fans and will recommend to others in the future.

Not as advertised, property is unkept, our listing had a bathroom light bulb that was warm yellow very dark in there. Air Fryer/counter oven was dirty. Cabin was clutered with nick knacks BBQ pit broken, patio table broken umbrella over table broken. The TeePee advertised is molded inside and out. The common area is also over grown and looks abandoned. On the up side it was quiet and a clean bed.

Oh Elizabeth, dang. We’re genuinely sorry this property wasn’t the right fit for you. We do want to provide some context for future guests reading this review. Hidden Valley is intentionally not a manicured resort. Our listing begins with “Nothing fancy to see here!” and describes our 14 acres as raw, natural land. We work with the land rather than trying to clear it all away. We especially want to address the characterization that the property “looks abandoned.” Hidden Valley is very much loved, lived on and actively cared for. Some of the photos included with this review actually show intentional choices we make in caring for the land. Trees and their limbs are allowed to grow naturally around our structures rather than being unnecessarily cut back, and downed limbs are stacked and used to slow erosion and provide habitat. We intentionally leave areas natural for bees, pollinators and other wildlife. That isn’t abandonment; it’s how we have chosen to steward this land that we love. The tipi is also an outdoor structure, intentionally situated in nature and exposed to the elements; it is not advertised as an indoor guest accommodation. Our stays are intentionally filled with art, books and collected objects rather than designed as a sparse hotel room. Regarding the other items mentioned: we informed these guests before arrival that we were waiting on a part to repair the BBQ pit, and additional grills were available in the community area. The patio table is not broken. We were unaware of an issue with the umbrella, so we do genuinely appreciate them bringing that to our attention. We also want to correct the statement about cleanliness. The countertop oven had been thoroughly cleaned immediately prior to this stay. We’re not quite sure how a warm-colored bathroom light bulb constitutes the property being “not as advertised.” Most importantly, none of these concerns were communicated to us during the stay. We are very accessible to our guests and would have gladly addressed anything that needed attention. We’ve hosted hundreds of wonderful stays and consistently receive 5-star reviews from guests who understand what Hidden Valley is: a quirky, natural and peaceful place to slow down, experience nature and enjoy the Texas Hill Country.
