Wonderful stay

Great property that was well stocked. Enjoyed the layout asnit offered plenty of space to get away of needed. Nice location away from all the hustle near the center of the island. Great team managing the property.

Fab 4 Family

Great house, location and accommodation. Room for everyone to have their own space. Appliance placement on each level is a bonus convenience. A suggestion to owner would be the installation of at least a half bath on the bottom level.

Survived Debby

Despite the effects of Tropical Storm Debby, we enjoyed our stay at the Tipsy Turtle. House was big enough for all 14 of us, pool was great for the kids. House was clean, well decorated and lots of windows for great views. Would've been nice to have a bathroom on the ground floor and the crabs were a minor annoyance, but otherwise it’s a great house. We will definitely be back next year. Very short walk to the beach, plenty of storage for food and groceries with the extra fridge on the ground floor.

Beautiful and well-appointed beach house

The photos don't do this house justice. The decor is gorgeous. The kitchen is large and light-filled, and the family room is very comfortable for gathering. The bedrooms are well-appointed with nicer window treatments than you would expect in a rental home. The house has a lot of decking with ample seating for enjoying the beautiful marsh views. The pool area is large and has a putting green for added entertainment. The property manager Foster is on the island and responds quickly to issues - even solved a plumbing issue very quickly on a holiday. Highly recommend this house.

There are a couple reasons we did not rate our stay a 5. First, make sure you read the fine print! The listing boasts a hot tub as one of its amenities, but your rental actually includes a "cold" tub. You have to pay extra to make the hot tub "hot." Also, we had an infant in our group, so we were counting on the travel crib and high chair that were listed, but we failed to locate either of those. Lastly, the 6th bedroom on the bottom floor had no direct access to a bathroom. In order to shower, they had to enter another guest's bedroom to use the ensuite. Despite those minor annoyances, we had a great week. The showers in the house were amazing, the walk to the beach was super convenient, and the house was decorated beautifully. We also thoroughly enjoyed the pool and private back yard which had a fantastic view of the waterway. The house had 4 porches to choose from, and you couldn't go wrong with either view. Overall, we had a great week of family time at the Tipsy Turtle!

Good Stay with a few Hiccups

TL;DR - Overall our family had a great stay. The linens were never picked up from the previous rental and there are a lot of crabs on this side of the island which made for an exciting adventure for the kids. And a lot of work for the adults getting the crabs out of the pool and out of the main floor. The bunk room has been moved upstairs and is not on the bottom floor as shown in the pictures.We had issues with golf carts flipping the outlet circuits in the garage while charging but that may have been a golf cart company issue.Nothing took away from our overall experience and I would stay in this house again.

Needs some attention

Our family stayed in this beautiful home in July of 2023. The home was a new construction home and had just began being rented for the summer. Overall, the home was beautiful with lots of amenities to satisfy our needs and was accurate per the listing. The beach chairs, games, and bicycles being on-site were a nice touch! The home was well decorated and welcoming. What we didn't like. The bunkroom in the basement is where we put the kids. The room is cooled using a portable a/c unit, which did not keep the room cool. We had to go out and purchase additional fans to put in the room to try and keep it somewhat comfortable as the room would easily get above 78 degrees by nighttime. Also, there was a crab infestation! Every day we would exterminate/catch multiple crabs in the basement bunk room. We found them in there at night as well, which scared the kids, and caused us to have to purchase air mattresses for them to sleep in other rooms. Every morning the pool would have 6+ crabs in it as well that we would have to remove. The property owner was contacted for this and a couple of minor items. Although responsive, we were told there was nothing they could do about the crabs. There were no discounts or anything offered for our troubles and inconvenience of not being able to use the other "room" in the basement. Also, no bathroom in this room, which would have been nice to have since the pool is on that level. Overall, beautiful home. Just wish it didn't have crabs!
