The cabin was really cool we loved it! Couldn't have stayed at a better place it was perfect. The river being right behind the cabin is awesome! The home was very clean and had more than enough amenities and the hosts are great and very friendly! Highly recommend booking this place!

We had such a wonderful stay with our family of four. The river was so peaceful and the house had everything we needed for our stay :)Loved learning about the history of River House as well and how beautifully it’s been preserved!It was such a scenic drive and close to lots of places to explore. We definitely hope to back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this comfortable and well appointed property. Our hosts were friendly and available to help us with any questions we had. The location on the river was beautiful and we enjoyed learning about the history of the house and area.

The house was very cute and we loved being right on the river - you can't beat the views for dinner on the porch! Gail and David were great hosts, very friendly and helpful, including bringing over propane while we were attempting to make dinner on the grill! Overall a great spot to stay while in town for a friend's wedding, or whatever else you might be visiting East Hardwick for.

Our second visit to The River House - it has a deck overlooking the river and beautiful views. We hit the start of fall colors and the access to the LVRT Rail Trail is 25 yards away. From the house you can ride about 30 miles east and 60 miles west. Tips: leave all of luggage downstairs Excellent!

The house was perfect. Clean, well organized with thoughtful touches but not cluttered. The roaring river just behind the house after a hard rain was fantastic to listen to. I’m looking forward to staying again and will be recommending it to family and friends.

Great place with an awesome patio overlooking the river! Perfect stopover for the Lamiolle bike trail at a great price! Owners provided breakfast at a small fee, which was awesome! Highly recommend!

We enjoyed staying there very much! We enjoyed being able to listen to the river! Everything was set up well. All clean. True to description. Bathrooms kind of small, but functional. The small bath was the only reason we did not give it a five star.

Perfect LVRT 2nd night stop. Right off the trail w/ an easy few miles to restaurants and shops of Hardwick. Right up next to the river, so listened to the rapids all night (can close the windows if not your thing). Opted for the breakfast add-on and was introduced to a wonderful local yoghurt, Sweet Rowen. Would highly recommend if needing a stop for the night along the LVRT.

Quaint,clean,comfortable,beautifully situated small house with deck overlooking the Lamoille River.It is just a few minutes walk from the Lamoille River Railtrail.This house is situated about 30 miles from the St. Johnsbury end/beginning,depending on which direction you are bicycling.It is great for dividing the railtrail into thirds.The hosts are very nice and helpful.I would not hesitate to rent it again.

A very relaxing three days. Perfect location for the LVRT bike trail which was surprisingly scenic and well maintained. The trail follows the Lamoille River and the deck of the house sits right over the river. Lots of our meals on the deck listening to the river flow over the rocks. Don't plan on swimming at that location but there is an excellent public beach about 10 minutes north with lots of parking. Enjoyed talking with David who had lots of good information and recommendations.
