This lovely property has 3 luxury swimming pools and 8 units (9 bedrooms) that can sleep up to 22 adults comfortably, more if you are okay adding beds. Just half a block away from shops and restaurants, and only a 3 minute walk to the beach, the location cannot be beat. Some call it a private compound. This property is staffed for on demand cleaning, daily cleaning of pools, and there is an option for private chef as this property has been set up to accommodate large groups (up to 100). Reasonable all-inclusive options can be added to your stay.

There are 2 additional casitas that can be available if you need more rooms for an additional fee to sleep up to 30 people. Moreover, split beds or extra beds available on request.

We were a group of 16 (ranging from 20-82y old) & had a wonderful stay. Hosts were responsive & helped make sure we had what we needed; daily staff were very friendly. Property was gorgeous, good mix of shade & sun, & outdoor places to gather. There was no large inside gathering space. It was close to the beach, restaurants & a store. Town is smaller, so having a golf cart was helpful to get to other places. It was clean and we felt secure.There were 5 2-unit buildings & 1 building that had 2 rooms with a sitting area. Most of the units were centrally located, though 1 was more secluded. In the more secluded unit you could at times hear noise from outside the main property, but there was otherwise good noise control between units. All of the units had refrigerators, basic kitchen tools, & some had cooktops. There was 1 small communal kitchen we had access to -stovetop, sink, ice maker, counters & refrigerator; but it would have been hard to make a big meal ourselves, and no grill. There was a big table to gather/eat. There were a number of restaurants nearby, including take-out options. There ended up being an a la carte breakfast option, which was a nice surprise as we had not ordered the food/drink packages. Pools were great. The rainfall feature was really nice, as were the stools/bar. The only negative of the big pool was the bottom steps were hard to see as they were the same color as the pool bottom, we often thought we were at the bottom only to drop down more.

We were a group of fourteen, twelve adults, one child and one toddler. We loved the place. The staff was friendly and helpful. The chef we hired, through the place, made delicious food. We chose the menu, before hand and no one was left hungry. We were roughly two and a half blocks (easy walking distance to the beach). When we weren't doing excursions, we were sourcing hours in the pool. It was great and convenient that every room had its own fridge. We were near restaurants, a brewery and supermarkets. We couldn't ask for anything more.

Tropical Paradise with Family/Friends

A perfect getaway in a serene tropical paradise! Proximity to everything you need for the perfect vacation is within walking distance - beach, market, restaurants, night life! A wonderful team that responded immediately, quick responses to questions, a breeze of a booking process. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating.

amazing property with everything you need, close proximity to beach, shops, restaurants and marina. we had private chef and bartender option to meet all of our needs. the owners are very responsive and provided everything we needed when we needed. We are already looking at going back for our next vacation.

An Incredible Property!

Lani and her team were delightful to work with. My company chose this venue for our 30-person mastermind.Every staff member we came into contact with was kind, polite, and happy to have us on the property! We loved the pool and the bar area/event space was perfect for our event. If we had any questions, the team was quick to respond and take action. Our only hiccup is that we weren't prepped well that the "office" bedroom listed on VRBO was not quality enough to sell to a client. This taught me to ask for photos of every accommodation before selling a room ticket.The is a truly beautiful venue, and I can't thank the team enough for hosting us so well. We are grateful and hope to return!

Perfect for our family vacation!!

We had the entire resort for vacation for a group of 19 consisting of young adults up to people intheir mid 60s. As the planner of the trip, I was worried about accommodating everyone’s desires. I can happily report that everyone in our group had a great time at Mango y Mono! The service was so personalized and attentive, but not overbearing. Rev, Jamie, Willy, Julian and Lani were amazing, as was their support staff. They went way above and beyond for us, cooking amazing meals, pointing out wildlife, taking care of all of our needs and going as far as setting up an outing for all of us to watch one of our group play bass at a local open mic night. They felt like family members and we already miss them! Potrero is s lovely town - not overcrowded - with lots to do while not being too touristy. It’s located within a quick golf cart ride of many different beaches, all a little different. The main beach is a five minute walk from the resort but there were days we were happy to hang out at the lovely pool and chill or play pool games. The resort is well maintained in a lovely setting with carefully curated garden. I can’t say enough good things about our stay, I just want to thank everyone at Mango y Mono for making my job easier and easing my anxiety about pleasing everyone. Highly recommended!!

New Year's 2025

Our group of 18 had an excellent stay the week that encompassed New Year's. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. Lani and Matt are responsive and helpful, but not at all intrusive. Would highly recommend for a large group that is looking to have the whole place, like we did. We did the breakfast and dinner package every day, which worked out well from a value perspective (and was tasty and great for socializing), but in retrospect I would have had us eat dinner in town a night or two. Only constructive criticism is that there are lots of people you'll interact with from booking and throughout your stay, and it's hard to keep the rotating cast of characters straight in terms of what they do. But Lani is always available to advise via text and we enjoyed meeting all of the staff.

Overall great time! But...

Overall we had a great time staying at Mango Y Mono in Playa Portrero. The service from the hosts was excellent. They were very helpful and responsive when we needed something. They arranged all of our transportation for us as well as any excursions we wanted to try. The layout of Mango Y Mono is great as well for a big group. We had lots of accomodations and our group of 15 had no issues finding our way around and we all got our own rooms. The main area is nicely covered and has lots of shade and some fans to cool off and visit. We also opted to buy the all inclusive breakfast and alcohol package they offered us and we were all glad we did. Was nice to wake up every morning and have some options to eat without leaving the premises. They kept all alcohol and mixes well stocked for the most part, as our group drank quite alot we ran out a few times but the hosts were prompt to get replacements. We also opted to get 2 dinner meals cooked for us by the staff. To be honest those meals were both mediocre and we would personally recommend going out for dinner as the area has some great places to eat. But the cake they made was great! Our groups biggest issue was the cleanliness of the place. We were a bit disappointed when we arrived to see that the main pool was quite dirty. Some of the rooms had some bad odors to them. And some of the showers shot water all over the place and didn't drain well. Over we enjoyed our stay but there's a few things that could be improved!

Unforgettable Stay for a Family Celebration - Highly Recommended!

We recently stayed at this beautiful property for 5 days to celebrate my daughter's college graduation, and it was an unforgettable experience. With a group of 14 family members and friends, we reserved the entire property, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, the property manager was incredibly accommodating, ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The property itself is stunning, set in a wonderful community, and provided the perfect setting for our celebration. The cooks were fantastic, preparing delicious meals that catered to everyone's tastes. One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent service provided by the property. They arranged transportation to and from the airport, which made our arrival and departure stress-free. Additionally, they organized various excursions for us, and their recommendations for places to eat and visit were spot on. The amenities were top-notch, and the proximity to the beach (just a 3-minute walk!) was an added bonus. We all enjoyed the private pool and the ample outdoor space, which were perfect for relaxing and spending quality time together. In summary, this property offered a perfect blend of comfort, luxury, and convenience. We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable getaway!
