Bear View Retreat has all the comforts of home and much more! The fully stocked kitchen is great to create your favorite cuisine and the gas fireplace is the perfect place to cozy up while watching TV or reading a good book. The upstairs loft area is home to the pool table where you can challenge your friends and family to a round of billiards. This is a beautiful cabin, it is very clean and nice. The hot tub was great and the beds were extra comfortable. We ran out of gas in the grill and they were very quick to come and exchange it for us. My complaints about the cabin the views are not the best. There is a shed on one side of the house and trees across the street. And it is definitely not secluded. The pictures need to be updated bc they just built a new cabin right next to it. Also I booked this place the day I was to arrive, a last minute get away trip, and I had to call to get all my codes and such. It wasn’t until the next day that I received all my emails with all of that information.

The cabin was exactly as shown in the pictures. Nice open concept on the main level. The bedrooms and bathrooms were a decent size (the mattresses were very firm which made sleeping for me difficult). I wish the view from the balcony was better. Not much to look at except for trees. Getting in and out of the community through the gate was not terrible. We never got to go to the pool as the weather wasn’t good during our stay (thunderstorms or showers everyday in the middle of the day). We did get to see bears! we lost power one night but the crew that came out got it back on within a few hours. Probably the only thing that I did not like was the roads through the community. In most of the listings that I read before choosing this cabin (and with this one as well) was the description of the roads. They were very generic saying something like “4wheel drive is needed in the winter” & some roads are steep. If you are someone who suffers from panic attacks/anxiety/fear of heights..this cabin is not for you. The roads in some spots hold 2 cars fine, & then suddenly only hold 1 car as you climb a steep, steep mountain with very tight turns & corners you cannot see around, where one wrong move could literally be bad (no guard rails or wall of sorts) to keep you from going over the mountain. Other than that, everything else was good! We were sad to leave.
