Villa Durazno is a beautiful, prívate villa that sits atop a hill in Playa Panama with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. This incredible 12,000 sq ft, 6 bedroom villa allows you to enjoy luxury, tranquilty and a genuine connection with the local flora and fauna. It’s truly stunning.

Built with the finest local materials including hardwood, custom stone and tile work, guests will enjoy an inviting and luxurious, yet casually comfortable living space. The villa has recently undergone a full re-decoration, and beautiful new furnishings and an updated style, bohemian style are evident throughout.

The villa has a professionally equipped kitchen, spacious dining area, and living room on the main floor, all which open to the covered terrace, and infinity- aquarium pool where the views of the forest and the Pacific Ocean are mesmerising.

Guests sleep comfortably in 6 en-suite bedrooms, although the home can sleep up to 16 people with the 4 additional pull-out-beds. There are 3 master-suites with ocean views. All bedrooms are individually air-conditioned, with wi-fi throughout the home. Two outdoor showers are also available.

There are plenty of excellent but nearby beach-front restaurants, or you can prepare your meals in the outdoor kitchen/BBQ area. The large coral-stone terrace is a favourite with our guests, and it is from here that people get regular opportunities to watch the local wildlife, just a few feet away. Guests love to sit and watch the jungle wake up in the early morning, or marvel at the beauty with each day’s unique sunset.

David is your on-site villa manager, and he will gladly introduce you to the local area with his experience and recommendations, or can arrange transport, spa treatments, chef/bartender services, excursions and any other activity that will help to make your trip to Costa Rica one that you will never forget.

There are number of excellent local beaches, as well as bars, shopping , golf courses and plenty of good supermarkets. Abundant opportunities to swim, snorkel, sail or sunset cruise, fish, hire ATVs, hike, and explore volcanos or waterfalls. We can also provide beach gear, beach towels, chairs, and coolers.

The villa is perfectly situated in a private, safe and guarded community - Vistas Del Pacifico, and is only 20 minutes from Liberia International Airport (LIR).

Amazing home. It’s not your typical vacation house. This is a well appointed home with a full kitchen. Everything from books to read and art on the walls. This is clearly a home the owners love and use and offer it to guests to enjoy when they aren’t using it. It’s a very unique property that took 6 years to build. David, the property manager, is also a great host and resource. He was very welcoming and professional. He went out of his way to set up 2 additional beds for our kids and gave us some fantastic restaurant recommendations. He even helped with recycling!A Experience.THANK YOU!

Wonderful house, excellent property manager, highly recommend!

We really couldn’t be happier with our stay here. David was so welcoming and helpful, the house and views were stunning, and the rooms were all very comfortable. We have nothing negative to mention whatsoever. Thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful!

So far the best home we have stayed

We do family reunions in Costa Rica for 16 family members and this has been the best place so Far and the one we would certainly consider To return. From the moment I booked, David was very committed to answer our concerns. We have a special needs child and he did all he could to make sure we were properly attended on what was needed. He promptly answered our requests and suggested places to go that were wonderful. The house is simply amazing! With a large and functional kitchen, a pool and jacuzzi and grilling area that won’t disappoint. The views are stunning and we spotted different birds and monkeys by sitting on the terrace. House is perfect for entertaining, rooms are huge and comfortable. The beds and pillows made us feel Like we were home. I certainly recommend you give it a try. Using Waze we were able to arrive without getting lost, there is a bit of a hill so make sure you are prepared for that. The town is close enough with restaurants and hotels near by with all kind of cusine. Groceries stores are within a 20 min drive were you can find american products. If you come from San Jose, beware with the traffic and be prepare to have a possible longer commute. If you come from Liberia, you are golden. You won’t be disappointed!

Great stay in Costa Rica

Had a mixed family group and we had a great time. Plenty of space to spread out. Convenient access. The listing was everything it was supposed to be. Communication was easy, David was quick to respond. Loved the Mot-mot and Trogan, and Monkey on the back yard.

Million Dollar View

Villa Duranzo exceeded our families expectations! The outdoor area was perfect for our family and the view overlooking the bay was amazing! We were a family of 12 ranging from ages 18-80 and the house boasted plenty of space for everyone. We spent relaxing time at the Villa combined with fun excursions booked by David, the property manager. David was a tremendous resource and took care of everything from transportation, excursions, chefs, photographer, and even a run to the grocery store. He in an invaluable asset to the Villa and truly made our vacation nothing short of amazing! Thank you for a fabulous start to the NEW YEAR!

Family vacation at Villa Durazno

After a long day of travel we had a quick 20 minute drive From Liberia airport to the Villa. When you walk into the Villa and see the amazing view you’ll know you picked the perfect place for your vacation. We had 8 adults in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their on space. The veranda and pool was everyone’s favorite place to hang out. We loved the lounge chairs, which we nicked named lemon and avocado. The infinity pool is the perfect place to cool down and makes for amazing sunset photos. Dave, I can’t say enough about all the help that you gave us. You made planning our trip so much easier. Thank you for answering all of our questions and recommendations on restaurants, beaches and activities. You are a gem! All homes have issues and the few things we had were handled immediately by Dave. The Villa itself is located in a gated secure community and conveniently located near the beaches, restaurants and shopping. If your an early riser like myself go outside and listen to Costa Rica come to life, howler monkeys, birds and geckos will serenade you! I also recommend having the personal chef and crew come in, fine dining in your own Villa! Dave and Sam thank you for making our families first time to Costa Rica so memorable. Can’t wait until we come back!

Paradise in Costa Rica

Had an excellent time staying at Villa Durazno. Loved the view from the property and Dave was absolutely wonderful in assisting us with restaurant recommendations and excursions. Highly recommended.

Wonderful property conveniently located to nice beaches, restaurants and grocery shopping.

This is a luxury villa situated on a bluff with incredible views of the ocean. Seemingly isolated from civilization, yet conveniently located to all things required to enjoy an extended stay in paradise. On site (separate building) property manager will take care of your whims or leave you to relaxing days in the pool. Highly recommend.

Great Time in Costa Rica

The trip was excellent. David truly helps you take care of any needs from transportation, excursions, dining and purchasing items for the house. The house is beautiful and the view is amazing. A few items need work but not enough to dampen the great experience. New fridge is needed and pool light went out. My group loved it. The rooms are great and each had its own bath. We would definitely go back. The chef arranged for us was excellent. David had a van service to take us wherever our group of twelve needed to go at a great rate. We visited the volcano one day and took a private sail boat out the next. We spent a day at the beach and eat at a local restaurant. All great times. I was asked to sign contract but had it adjusted with no issues. Probably should stop asking for it as long as insurance is acquired at only $99. I gave 4 stars for the minor items and contract, but I would not hesitate to go back.

Perfect for our group of 9!

Villa Durazno was the PERFECT choice for our group of 9 adults (4 couples and one single). 1: THE HOME/PROPERTY The house was large and well appointed with plenty of room to stretch out in privacy or gather as a group for laughs, meals, and friendship. The view from the pool and sun deck can not be matched. We looked at several other homes during our stay, and as far as views and privacy, this home beats the others hands down! Each of the bedrooms has it's own GORGEOUS en suite bath and 4 have stunning views. The two back bedrooms downstairs lack the view but are nicely appointed and large in size. The only thing we found to be lacking which was not evident when booking was THE HOT TUB IS NOT FUNCTIONAL. This was a disappointment for our group, but certainly did not take away from our overall experience. I would urge the home owners to fix this issue for the price point when renting the entire villa. I know it's expensive to get parts/repairs in Costa Rica, but your renters would appreciate it! There was also a television missing in the downstairs living area. 2: PROPERTY MANAGER David, the property manager, lives in the casita behind the main house and was instrumental in ensuring perfection for our group. I was the primary contact/coordinator and we were in constant contact regarding the rental itself, activity suggestions, and many general questions answered. During our stay he went ABOVE AND BEYOND when we had an issue with securing a rental car at the airport (The company required a $2500 hold on a credit card for their $11/day rate) One quick email to David and he had us on our way and was kind enough to help us transport back to the airport the following day to secure another car! Our group also travels "on the fly" with no solid itinerary and he was quick to respond with suggestions and assistance for last minute bookings! The tour he helped me set up for my husband's 50th birthday was OUTSTANDING! a local tour company with which David is familiar picked us all up from the villa and took us for a day of Zip Lining, horseback riding, volcanic hot spring and a mountain water slide. Everything was included in the affordable price of the trip and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Wonderful way to spend the day! David and his dog Sam are always near by and never intrusive. We had an issue with plumbing in our bedroom (the shower pressure was AWFUL) and when we alerted David, he and my husband grabbed a few tools and fixed it in 5 minutes!

Amazing property with total privacy and views to savour

The suite we stayed in was 5 star for sure - our own balcony, outdoor shower, a/c and a four poster bed. We loved the sun deck and great infinity pool. The property manager Dave knows Costa Rica really well and was able to advise us on the local secrets that you probably wouldn't find on your own. We cannot recommend this villa highly enough - if you get a chance to stay there you will be blown away. Excellent!

Lovely home with a spectacular view

We were an extended family of 11, age ranging from 10-77 staying at the villa for one week. Plenty of room for everyone especially the teenagers. Pool and view was the star attraction along with the wild life that surrounded the property from the howler monkeys in the trees just out back, the birds and butterflies taking a sip from the pool and even the insects. Plenty of space in the bedrooms and the common areas. Decor was exactly like those in the photos and Dave the onsite property manager was really helpful with suggestions of activities, beaches, restaurants and scorpion killing. The home was located in a gated community with security presence. The surrounding towns are small but we found everything necessary for a great experience. Plenty of beaches and activities to choose from and if you needed recommendations or someone to book something for you, Dave was on hand. Kitchen was well supplied with plates and cutlery for home cooked meals. The only thing missing may have been more serving bowls for large families but other than that everything else was provided even beach towels. Cleaning was once during our week which for us was enough. Paved drive leading up the home was much appreciated. The driveway does have a steep incline so becareful, but the two car garage was great on those hot days. The home was easy to get to and the area was not hard to navigate. All in all a wonderful once in a lifetime experience for everyone. If you have a large family or several couples with kids looking to stay at a nice and large home this should be on your list.

What a fabulous place!

We stayed at Villa Durazno in March 2015 and had an absolutely fabulous time and couldn’t recommend it highly enough! The Villa is everything we wanted and more, set in a private hillside location overlooking the Pacific Ocean, a perfect viewing platform to admire the vista and watch the amazing sunsets over the bay. Dave the property manager, ensured, that from meeting us at airport until we left. Nothing was too much trouble, from making dinner reservations, suggesting where to go and what to see, to booking a boat for the afternoon with a brilliant skipper who knew the best deserted coves, where to snorkel and he even managed to coincide our ride back in alongside the dolphins as the sun was setting. The villa is extremely spacious, yet intimate and furnished to a standard you would expect in a luxurious home. We made full use of the fantastic outside space; from lazing in the infinity pool and jacuzzi to just relaxing on one of the many loungers dotted around the terrace. Check out the AquaSport bar down on the beach - fabulous food, drinks, atmosphere and service, for something a little more formal try Gingers fusion restuarant - Dave will point you in the right direction. We will defiantly be back….Pura Vida!

Amazing! Loved every minute.

A beautiful villa in a great location, perfect for relaxing or hanging out with friends and family. Highlights include; an incredible infinity pool, sound system, luxury sun loungers, gorgeous sunsets and Sam the dog! The manager (David) is amazing too. He has excellent knowledge of the local area and is happy to organise all activities and trips. The villa is a short drive from the beach. I highly recommend a trip to Aqua Bar for fish tacos and chilli guaros at sunset. Overall, very impressive and definitely worth a visit!

A spectacular piece of tranqulity

We – a party of 8 – stayed at this beautiful villa for a week in September 2012 and were amazed by the experience. We were looking for somewhere for a group of friends just to catch up and switch off from the outside world, and Villa Durazno fitted the bill perfectly. We were able to relax in the elegant luxury of what is a huge property as soon as we got there - a short journey from the airport – and the longer we stayed the more relaxed we became! The terrace and pool are the perfect setting to catch some sun, watch the local birdlife and see the spectacular sunsets out across the bay. The bedrooms are more like studio apartments and the lounge, dining and kitchen areas were perfect for some extended meals and ‘social’ occasions! We did venture out on a few occasions though…..and the local area has some very good restaurants and the local hotels and Coco offer a friendly bar scene for our crowd. We have already booked to go back to the same place at the same time next year and cannot recommend it highly enough if you are looking for a beautiful get away venue .

I am an on-site manager, which means that I stay in Casita behind, but separate from the Villa. This means I’ll be here to greet you and show you around the villa, as well as be able to respond quickly to any questions you might have about the area or property throughout your time here.

I’ve lived in this area of Costa Rica for over ten years now, so know the area, and the country well. So you have access to my experience with everything from tours to tipping in restaurants, the beaches, where to see the wildlife, the best transport, and the best chef and spa or services - even the language.

The view from the villa is what most of our guests find most memorable. The light and colours are never the same, and the scene changes throughout the year, as much as by the minute. The sunsets are the obvious attraction, but the panoramic skies produce some amazing cloud formations, and the ocean can change from crystal blue to dark purple in minutes.

You can see two species of monkeys in the trees just a few metres from the sun terrace, and the birds you’ll see most days include parakeets, kiskadees, palomas, hummingbirds, soaring turkey vultures and mot mots.

There are many things that make the villa stand out from the rest, but the ‘slowing down’ effect that most people experience here, as they observe the scene before them, is pretty special.
