Welcome to your private setting on 60 acres with Christmas trees, woods, and an excellent view of Sugar Creek from the back of the property! Connect with nature and solitude.
Quiet setting in the trees; conveniently located near canoeing (public launch - 2 min ; Sugar Creek Campground and Canoe rental - 4 min), popular hiking/state parks (Turkey Run - 30 min; Shades State Park - 20 min; Pine Hills Nature Preserve - 20 min), Wabash College (5 min) and Purdue University (35 min).
Crawfordsville is the home of Wabash College (5 min), Ironman GNCC, the Lew Wallace study of Ben Hur fame, one of only two working rotary jails in the U.S. (open for tours seasonally), and the beautiful Sugar Creek used for hiking, canoeing, and crinoid hunting. We're an easy drive to covered bridge country and the namesake festival every October.
Groceries and dining are just 5 minutes away. Just under an hour to Indy and 50 minutes to the airport.
The space:
Our brand new renovated tiny home packs a big punch in a small space. This space is perfect for 1 or 2 people looking for a relaxing getaway. **If you're looking for a child or pet friendly space, this is not a fit due to the ladder and limited floor space.**
The cozy space is less than 150 square feet and is furnished with a full size pullout couch, a lofted king bed, small kitchen, and small bathroom with compact shower (it is small, but runs on a regular drain/septic) and flushing toilet (no smelly RV toilet here!). Inside the kitchen , you will find silverware, pots and pans, plates, bowls, cups and mugs, bottle opener, a 2 burner electric skillet, large toaster oven capable of cooking simple meals, coffee maker with built in single pod maker. We have also provided extras for your stay, including salt and pepper, olive oil, coffee, coffee pods, and individual creamers. There is also a mini-fridge.
BE ADVISED: Accessing the only 'bedroom' is by a ladder with a railing. Please ensure you are able to physically climb up and down before booking. The pullout couch can be used for lounging/watching a movie, but you will miss part of the experience if you don't use the loft.
You have access to a private Solo Stove fire pit and picnic table behind the cabin.
The tiny cabin is small, but the adventure isn't! Guests have access to the cabin's land, including two stunning fields of Christmas trees and a creek overlook (access the creek <1 mile down the road; we only provide views - the bank is steep).
There is a long term tenant inside the property's barn apartment and we live nearby, but you will feel like you have acres to yourself. PLEASE NOTE: This is a working farm. You may catch us mowing, trimming trees, or doing farm work. We love to share our farm and answer questions or give you your privacy.
**We are open to the public for field trips (Tues-Fri mornings) and agritourism (Sat-Sun) the end of September, all of October, and Thanksgiving through mid-December.** While the cabin and cabin's outdoor/fire pit area are private, you may hear and/or see people on the property. As an added perk, your stay comes with complimentary admission to our corn maze, wagon ride and outdoor activities during these seasons! However, if you're looking for solitude, please book outside of these months. The farm is quiet 'off season.'
If you want time away from all of life's extra responsibilities and clutter, want to kayak or canoe, be immersed in nature/with wildlife yet close to town and nearby state parks, we think you're going to really like it here!
