We had a few issues, however the host responded very quickly. The seaweed in the canal was a lot and the smell was horrible. The host had no control over this; its just a seasonal thing. The canal is VERY shallow and our 27 foot boat bottomed out a few times. Please double check your boat depth vs. that canal depth.

The screened in porch facing the ocean was a game changer. We had our coffee and breakfast there and relaxed. We also got to see the sun rise!!

This house was great for our small family. The pool was heated to the perfect temperature, the beds were very comfortable and the screened balcony was the perfect place to sit with my coffee and a book. I feel this house has a lot of potential, but could use some more updates. The pool tiles were falling off and there was mold in the caulk of the showers. Overall though, this is a great property and I would definitely stay here again.

This was our second time staying at this particular house! We had a great time and enjoyed our stay but within the last year it could use some updates definitely to the outside pool area and dock.

Beautiful property just as described and very relaxing. Property manager was a pleasure to work with and made check-in a breeze. We had a boat with us and utilized the dock with one slight issue it was difficult to get boat out pass unless tide was in. We do this trip annually and will try and book this location in the future.

We come to Marstjon every year for my wife’s birthday. The house was perfect for 2 people and the location was perfect. Conveniently located on Sombrero Beach Blvd and quiet. House was well stocked and great value for the money

We both found the property to be tired and dated. The pool in particular was in a poor state with many missing tiled and flaking paint on the hand rails.

We had a great week! The house was wonderful. Had a great view of the ocean. Very clean and Lindsey was super helpful and got right back to me with any questions or concerns!

We were double booked for this property. The rental agent gave us an alternate property. The alternate property was poorly equipped,(no bathmats,kitchen towels, no plastic glasses for use on the deck and pool area, numerous dinner plates were chipped, only two wine glasses, non-stick cookware was in very poor condition.) In addition there were multiple light bulbs burned out in the bathrooms and hallway. The rental agent did send kitchen towels and had maintenance replace bulbs. The pool was nice.

Great Property!

We loved this house! The location is great as it's within walking distance to Sombrero Beach. The pool was very nice, and my husband and son loved fishing from the dock (caught quite a few fish!). Morning coffee and evening cocktails were enjoyed on the screened in porch. The house is very clean, comfortable and well stocked. We couldn't have asked for a better host than Lindsey! She was very quick to respond and took care of the one (little) problem we had in record time! Would definitely stay here again!

Marathon vacation

The house was pretty much as pictured in the listing photos. Kitchen was well stocked, however I would suggest a few more staples, like paper napkins and plates, and extra paper towels. Beds were super comfy! Screened in porch was great! Had coffee out there every morning and watched the sunrise. Pool was warm and kept very clean. The listing view photos show ocean views, however a new home is being built that blocks most of the ocean view. That was a bit disappointing but overall it’s a very nice home.

Convenient

The house is very centrally located to everything in Marathon. The house needs to be updated but it is clean and comfortable. The houses on each side are much larger and you can see from the screened porch into the backs of both houses plus there were multiple children and the noise was non stop for our entire stay. Also there is a house being built across the canal on the Atlantic which obscures the view that is pictured in the listing.

Perfect place for our stay in Marathon

We booked the Marathon area based on what I had read on Pinterest. We would definitely go back to Marathon. It is a very nice, clean city. The house is located on a safe road and only a 10-minute walk to the beach. Publix, grocery store, is not very far. It is about an hour+ drive to Key West on a good traffic day. We were happy with where we chose to stay for sure. No hustle and bustle. There are a few beach shops and eating places close. We were there in December and we highly recommend getting the pool heated. It was an added expense, but our girls used the pool at night a lot and it was very warm. We all thought the house was super nice and clean. Lots of towels and beach towels. Kitchen was fully stocked. The screened-in patio was sooo nice to sit out on during the week! Peaceful during the rain! We would like to have had a few beach accessories available to us to use as other beach houses we have stayed in have supplied beach chairs, balls, etc. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this rental to anyone. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we did!

We enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean and many updates have been done to the inside. I thought it was a great deal for what we paid for Marathon in June. You are able to get a boat in and out by trimming up the motor, even during low tide. Just know that in June the sargassum comes through and creates quite a smell but it went away with how many boats came in and out of the canal. The view was so nice and the house is very close to 2 grocery stores and many restaurants. If you like the ocean side for fishing, I’d definitely recommend! We loved going to sombrero reef for snorkeling, as it’s only 4 miles from the house by boat. Sombrero beach is close as well. Bahia Honda State Park was also close and so fun for swimming and snorkeling. The proximity to everything and coming back to enjoy the pool and relax on the large porch was our favorite thing! The neighborhood is very safe and great for families.
