Samuel cottages was a great place to stay. It’s close enough to walk to Cruz Bay and there is parking for a rental car. The house is as described. AC is great. Beds are comfortable. We did not sleep on the couch bed. Water pressure is good. Host is responsive and helpful.

I was worried about how far away we might be from family staying in Cruz Bay - not necessarily the distance, but if it would be straight uphill. The walk into Cruz Bay was no problem and we did it many times even with our smaller children. When you arrive on the ferry with all of your luggage, I would suggest taking a taxi to the Samuel cottages, but after that walking is no problem.If there was a washer and dryer on sight, I’d say this place is perfect. I knew we wouldn’t have laundry facilities going into it, but I’ve decided a week long beach vacation for a family of 6 requires the ability to do laundry. Overall, pleased with our decision to stay here.

Wondeful stay!

We had a wondeful time on st john. Julice was a wondeful host. The house was very clean and close to everything we wanted to see.

Close to town!

Perfect rental in saint john. The home was clean and air conditioning worked great lol! It was a 5 min walk down the hill to downtown. Loved my stay here!

Great access to downtown. Cottage was clean and very nice. Greatly appreciated the use of the beach towels and beach chairs.

Beautiful St. John

We had a great trip to St. John and an overall positive stay at this property. The cottage was clean, well-located, and had most of what we needed. We appreciated the use of the cooler, beach chairs, and beach towels. A few small additions like extra trash bags or a laundry basket would have been helpful, but nothing that took away from the trip. Overall, a good place for a laid-back island stay.

A perfectly quaint stay

Overall this is a great place to stay if you’re looking for something simple that has all of the basic essentials. The host was wonderful to communicate with and was helpful whenever needed, everything was very clean and all of the amenities worked great. The only downside to note with this property was the driveway- very steep and narrow proving to be very tricky/risky to get up and down for someone not accustomed to driving steep inclines.

A Great Place for a Family Stay in St. John

We came to St. John for several days on Spring Break, and this place was perfect for our needs. It was easy to find and clean. Note, though, that the driveway, like many in St. John is VERY steep. We had to put our Jeep in 4WD to get back up. Other than that, though, the location was convenient and the beach chairs, towels, and cooler provided allowed us to fully enjoy the stunning local beaches.

Sunset-o-clock

The view is more than breathtaking, it's heavenly. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean and thank you for the beach chairs. Although the location is a little steep to walk to and from the downtown area we did it several times. Thank you again! We highly recommend this VRBO.

Adults getaway

We loved working with Julice. She was very prompt, easy to communicate with and property description was accurate. We loved the proximity to town and parking was a bonus. We would def be back!

Clean villa in a super convenient location!

Samuel Cottage was great! The villa was clean and well stocked. The view was amazing, and we loved sitting on the deck and having a glass of wine. The best part was the location--it was a 5-minute walk into town, which was especially convenient for us because we didn't have a car and was able to walk to the best restaurants and get a taxi from the dock everyday. The grocery store was also steps away! I would highly recommend staying here!

Family Trip to St. John

This was a great house for our short trip to St. John! There was a bit of a walk up a steep hill but we were able to walk to the house from Cruz Bay on the day we got there, and several times during our stay so it worked out fine. Everything at the house was perfect for what we needed. Communications with Julice were great as well. Thanks so much for a great place. The Tessier Family we ndd

We didn't rent a car. Its a short walk to town where are the dinning is and there is not alot of parking there. But the walk to the place is up hill. In town is all the taxies and the bus to take you to the beaches. I would go back

Nice place near Cruz Bay and really close to grocery and several car rentals. Needs more kitchen amenities like blender. Not enough dishes for six people. New pillows would be advised. Would rent here again.

A perfect balance

A great vacation rental balances a great location (close enough to walk to town, not too close to be noisy) a great host (super responsive but never intrusive) and a great accommodation (clean, quiet, spacious, well equipped). This cottage has it all, plus a fabulous view from the deck! Julice could not have been a better host. The only thing we asked for - a regular coffee pot instead of the Keurig supplied with the kitchen - was delivered to us within 20 minutes of texting her. When a violent wind/rain storm knocked power out at Cruz Bay, I immediately got a text from Julice asking if we were ok... and moments later she and her husband drove over through the storm to provide extra batteries, lights, and a fan (since the excellent multizone AC in the cottage had stopped in the outage). Everything in the cottage looked practically brand new... the bed was super comfy... We can't say enough about how this place and its owner improved our vacation!

Julice was very helpful answering all of our questions. The location and accommodations were exactly as described and perfect for our family. Definitely recommend getting a cab from the ferry dock if you have luggage. The hill to the cottage is steep but completely manageable after arrival. We will definitely be back again.

House and amenities were great. Beach chairs, cooler and towels were appreciated.’Nice powerful ac. I would be sure to just tell your cab driver to take you to the Samuel Cottages and not the address listed and it would be helpful to know which cabin letter you are assigned to. We were the bottom cabin and the driveway is very steep to walk down- might be difficult for a mobility challenged person. But otherwise it was clean and well stocked!
