Welcome to La Capanna @ Casa Volpino. A Tuscan farmhouse in the heart of the Chianti Region. Built over the old animal stalls, this cozy, newly renovated 1500 sq foot stone house is nestled in the picturesque hills between the medieval towns of Radda in Chianti and Volpaia. The area offers an abundance of old-world charm, spectacular views, and is ideally situated for exploring the regions wineries and famous Tuscan towns like Florence, San Gimignano, and Siena.

The main floor has a fully stocked kitchen and dining area with an original fireplace.
Our comfy living room is a perfect place to sit and chat. It features 2 sofas one of which is a double couch bed that sleeps 1 -2 people.
Off the living room, you will also find a laundry room with a washer and dryer and a full bathroom with a tub and shower.

The second floor has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 en suite) with luxurious linens and beautiful views.

The garden includes a private pool, where you can relax and soak up the sun while enjoying the breathtaking views. Right off the kitchen, you will find a covered patio with a seating and dining area, perfect for al fresco meals and evening cocktails.

If you are looking for a peaceful retreat or a base for exploring Tuscany, this charming house will be just what you need.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU AND YOUR GUESTS WILL BE THE ONLY GUESTS ON THE PROPERTY. THE LARGER VILLA IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR RENT AT THIS TIME.

Important Information Regarding local tourist tax and identification:
1. We are required by Italian law to collect identification from each guest before check-in. I will send an email or text message to you after the last deposit is paid, asking you to submit passport information for each guest.

2. There is a tourist tax required by law of 2 euros per person (over the age of 14) per night for the first 7 days of your booking We have decided to include this charge in the nightly rent. This avoids having to collect cash from you at check-in.

Easy to find, check in very smooth instructions, Location was perfect in Chianti hills - near the supermarket but felt in middle of countryside, lovely villages nearby and easy access to Siena / Arrezzo etcFantastic all round.

The villa was beautiful and all the amenities were excellent. The owners did a fantastic job on the renovation. It’s situated in a stunning valley surrounded by vineyards and views for days. The pool is massive and immaculate and very comfortably furnished- it was an absolute highlight! Our hosts were helpful and very responsive and the entire stay was excellent! The location is great with many little towns, wineries and villages a short 20 minute drive away. A car is a must!

A Tuscany dream! Exquisite property and home with everything designed for an incredible, effortless stay. We especially loved the pool and garden views. Everything updated with an authentic regional touch. Fabulous location within easy reach of every place you want to visit. An added bonus was the “book” of information, instructions and local suggestions. Would absolutely love to return. Great communication too!

Wow! Just wow! We adored our stay at La Capanna. From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and at home. From the beautiful outdoor dining area overlooking the rolling hills and vines to the expansive and immaculate pool area where we spent lazy afternoons, everything was gorgeous. It was a very comfortable abode for our group of 7 with ample bathrooms (4!), a laundry and a good sized kitchen for cooking too. We loved exploring Radda in Chianti, dining at La Bottega in Volpaia and visiting all the other little Chianti towns nearby. Our week flew by and we wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you very much to our host Michelle who went above and beyond to make sure our trip was excellent. We hope to visit again one day!

We had such a lovely stay in this incredibly peaceful and comfortable property. The surrounding views, including from the beautiful pool, are spectacular and the house itself was finished to a very high standard. "We had an unforgettable stay at this charming villa. It provided the perfect respite between the bustling cities of Florence and Rome. The town of Radda, with its quaint streets, offered a wonderful mix of delicious dining spots and local wine tasting experiences. The villa itself was equipped with fantastic amenities, and the pool was a welcome escape during the hot summer days. We also took advantage of the well-equipped kitchen, preparing several meals that we enjoyed on the outdoor patios, complete with stunning views that made each meal feel even more special.

The place is even better then the pictures. It was truly magical. The perfect mix of charm and modern convinces. (Great AC, full size washer and dryer, dishwasher, great water temperate and pressure, strong wifi). Michelle was amazing at responding quickly throughout the entire process and we absolutely fell in love with the town of Radda. (So many amazing restaurants and lovely shop owners). We will be back and we have already told many of our friends. You will be blown away with beauty of it.
This pool is larger then most commercial pools and it is perfectly clean with an amazing view

A little piece of Heaven

Loved the villa and Italy soo much we almost did not come back home. The Villa was in the most beautiful setting and an hour in each direction to so many places to explore. The villa was a dream stay. Perfect in so many ways. No details left undone. Breakfast each more to a beautiful sunrise and the view of olive groves and vineyards.

Perfect location and picturesque

My family and I enjoyed our stay at LaCappana. The farmhouse was exactly at pictured and suited our needs for our trip. The views outside the windows and patio were picturesque. We enjoyed the pool as it overlooked the vineyards and fruit trees. This place had everything we needed and the owner was a great communicator and provided great recommendations on things to do and places to eat in the area and around Florence. Radda in Chianti is a very quaint town with great shops and restaurants and the farmhouse is very close to the town and nearby wineries. We would love to stay here again and highly recommended. It is right out of a magazine.

Amazing place to stay in Tuscany!!

My family of five stayed here for 8 nights. From the minute we booked communication was excellent. When we arrived my family and I were amazed how beautiful everything was. It is in a perfect location, private but close to Radda and other amazing cities in Tuscany. The property is absolutely perfect, clean, and beautiful. Everything we wanted and much more. The pool area is like a resort, but all to yourself. My family and I enlisted many morning breakfast and a couple diners. The hardest part was saying goodby and leaving the beautiful property. If this property is available, look no further, this is the place to stay. We will definitely be returning.Thank you Michelle for a wonderful stay!!!

A Tuscan Dream Come True

Our stay at La Capanna was nothing short of magical. This beautifully renovated farmhouse blended rustic charm with modern comforts, offering a peaceful home in Chianti. The house is beautifully decorated, has a fully stocked kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms…all surrounded by stunning views.We loved the private pool and grounds, using this as a perfect spot to unwind with a glass of wine after a day of exploring nearby towns. The covered patio was perfect for lunches/snacks and just admiring the view. We had arranged a wine tour and even the driver commented on how beautiful the property was. If you’re looking for serenity, beauty, and easy access to Tuscany’s wineries and historic sites, La Capanna is the place. The town of Radda is also very close with lovely shops and restaurants. We left feeling refreshed and already dreaming of our next visit! We certainly didn’t want to leave.

Absolutely stunning property!!!

We are so thrilled we stayed here!!! Six of my family members stayed at La Capanna and LOVED our stay. It is beautifully renovated yet still has the Italian charm. The views from the house are stunning and is situated amongst the rolling hills. The pool was so relaxing both during the day and watching the stars at night. The host and her husband are so kind and accommodating. Radda is an amazing small town with charm and minimal tourists (which we appreciate more). It is the perfect location to also take day trips to Florence and Siena. There are SO many charming restaurants nearby with AMAZING food. By far our favorite stay in all of Italy during our trip. I cannot recommend this beautiful villa enough. I know we will be back. Thank you Michelle!!!!

Staying at Michelle’s villa in Radda was nothing short of a dream come true. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the villa’s old-world charm, perfectly balanced with all the modern amenities one could wish for. Every corner of the home was thoughtfully designed, combining rustic Tuscan character with luxurious comfort.The highlight was undoubtedly the pristine pool, a serene oasis surrounded by nature, ideal for cooling off in the afternoon sun. Mornings were especially magical—waking up with a coffee in hand, settling into the Adirondack chairs, and taking in the breathtaking views of the Chianti hills was the kind of peaceful routine that stays with you forever.The fully stocked kitchen made preparing meals a pleasure, whether it was a light breakfast or a hearty pasta dinner with local wine. Everything we needed was already there, and more.In every way, this villa was a sanctuary—quiet, peaceful, and profoundly beautiful. It felt like stepping into a storybook, and we left with memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime. Thank you, Michelle, for sharing this slice of heaven!

My husband and I have been renting from Vrbo for many years and our experience with Michelle has been the best of all of our experiences. She is always accessible for any communication. The villa is right out of a fairytale. The views will take your breath away. The landscape complete with fig trees and herbs is impeccable. The villa is absolutely amazing. The perfect mix of Tuscan charm and modern conveniences. There was nothing that we wanted for. The pool was our afternoon oasis. The kitchen and barbecue are so well equipped. We made fabulous Tuscan dinners after shopping in the lovely local markets. The local towns of Radda (which you can see from the property) and Volpaia are a complete delight!!! We are avid cyclist, and we rented bikes, and it is the perfect launch for amazing rides all throughout the local countryside. Our only mistake was only staying for two weeks. We cannot wait to come back and stay longer. And to you, Michelle, I can’t thank you enough for all your kindness and you efforts in making this an unforgettable and incredible experience for us.

We recently stayed at this beautifully renovated house in Tuscany, and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with a personal letter from the incredibly hospitable owners, who have clearly put their hearts into creating a perfect home away from home. The house is a stunning blend of style and comfort, newly renovated with an eye for detail. The cozy interiors, luxurious linens, and fully equipped kitchen made our stay exceptionally comfortable. Whether cooking a simple meal or enjoying the outdoor BBQ area, we found everything we needed right at hand. The pool is a real highlight, offering breathtaking views of the rolling Tuscan hills. The owners thoughtfully provided loungers, sun shades, and pool toys, making it easy to spend relaxing days by the water. Every detail seems designed to enhance your stay and ensure you feel pampered. What sets this property apart is the warmth and generosity of the owners. They’ve created a space that feels both luxurious and welcoming, with every detail reflecting their desire for guests to have an exceptional experience. This house is more than just a place to stay – it’s a sanctuary where you can unwind and fully appreciate the beauty of Tuscany. When we were looking for a property to call our own, this one stood out to us mainly because of the incredible location, views, and because Volpaia has special memories for us. It was fate that brought us to this house.

I would say that our property is not necessarily unique. Tuscany is full of gorgeous homes and landscapes. I would say that our house has an energy about it that makes you feel relaxed and happy. When we arrive at our house after being away for a while, we immediately exhale and smile.
