Welcome to Camp Cottontail, a cozy and cheerful four-bedroom, two-bath cabin nestled in the private community of Locust Lake Village in the Poconos. Just a one-minute walk to Pines Lake and the community boat launch, this home is the perfect family retreat for guests looking to relax, reconnect, and explore the outdoors.
The living room is filled with natural light and features a wood-burning fireplace, board games, and a collection of vinyl records for relaxed evenings. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare meals, including cookware, utensils, baking tools, and more. Meals can be enjoyed indoors at the dining table or outside on one of two furnished decks with string lights, a propane grill, and plenty of seating.
The cabin comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests. Downstairs, the Mountain Room features a king bed, a peaceful desk with treetop views, and a mural hand-painted by a local artist. Also on the main floor is a twin room with two beds, two desks, and a smart TV—ideal for children or remote workers. Upstairs, you’ll find a relaxing queen bedroom and a fun-filled bunk room with a twin-over-full bunk bed, a trundle, toys, puzzles, and a vintage Nintendo system.
The home does not have central air conditioning. The two upstairs bedrooms and the main living area each have window AC units. The two downstairs bedrooms do not have AC but tend to stay cooler due to their lower level and shaded location. The entire house has baseboard heat.
This home was thoughtfully set up for families, with features like baby gates, a highchair, a pack and play, child-sized Adirondack chairs around the firepit, and even a few hidden play nooks. Fast internet (300 Mbps down / 12 Mbps up) and multiple desks make it easy to balance remote work and vacation time.
Outside, enjoy evenings around the firepit, spot deer in the yard, or take the provided canoe or kayak out onto Pines Lake—just a one-minute walk from the property. Life vests are included, and the lake is perfect for paddling and relaxing.
Guests have access to the amenities of Locust Lake Village, including several private lakes and sandy beaches, tennis and basketball courts, volleyball, bocce, fishing areas, playgrounds, and walking trails. Seasonal community events include fireworks, concerts, bingo, parades, and a sledding hill and ice skating area in the winter. Eight wristbands are provided at no charge for guests age 12 and up. There is no need to check in with the community—the parking pass will be emailed after registration, and wristbands will be waiting at the house.
Camp Cottontail is pet-friendly with prior approval. All pet waste must be picked up and disposed of properly. A $50 fee will be charged if our cleaning team needs to remove pet waste from the yard. This is a quiet and family-focused community, so loud parties and events are not allowed. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM and must be respected at all times.
There is one exterior security camera located near the front entrance of the home. It is used for safety and liability purposes only (e.g., in the case of a break-in, unregistered pets, or over-occupancy). There are no cameras inside the home. Tampering with or disabling the camera may result in cancellation without refund.
All trash must be taken to the community compactor; detailed instructions and hours will be sent before arrival. Early check-in and late check-out may be available for a fee of $20 per hour, with prior approval.
Whether you’re planning lake days, mountain hikes, or just a quiet weekend around the fire, Camp Cottontail is the perfect family escape in the Poconos.
