I'm so sorry the house wasn't ready when you arrived. You were our 1st renters of the season but that's no excuse. We had the cleaners go thru a couple weeks before but I guess it would be better if it was the day before so dust doesn't have time to resettle on things . I'm glad you had a good time and enjoyed the space - please come again!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our home! In an effirt to be more environmentally friendly We provide a clean sheet package for each bed- that way only sheets that are opened/used have to be washed. The alternative of making all the beds would require us to wash all the bedding even if only a few beds were slept in. We hope you come again!

I'm glad you liked the house and found it to have everything you needed/wanted. Unfortunately the timing of your trip considered with Dominion Energy doing a plant shut down for maintenance which dropped the lake level an additional 11 inches basically overnight. I posted and sent messages to all upcoming guests as soon as I heard about the Shut down but Dominion doesn't give homeowners much advanced notice. - For anyone new to Lake Anna - Dominion Power Plant owns the Lake and controls the water flow/ level. Planned shut downs are done in the off season (fall/winter) so if your planning a summer /May - Aug vacation you should be fine. We usually have 2-4 ft of water at the dock - great for kayaks, sups, fishing boats or a jet drive boat with an experienced driver. The draught at Lake Anna has definitely effected everyone but they are predicting the lake will be back to normal by Spring :) I hope you take me up on my offer to come back when the water is back and enjoy all we have to offer!

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. The water level will vary depending on what Dominion Power plant is doing at the time (Lake Anna is used to cool Dominion Power Plant). Water is usually have 3-4 ft deep in front of the house with 8 ft deep just a few yards away. We bring our 27 ft jet boat to the house regularly but if your not comfortable with the depth you can always use the community marina less than 2 blocks away (5 min walk). Please come again!

I sorry the bedroom set up wasn't what you expected - but the layout is clearly stated in the listing - 9 bedrooms/8 bathrooms so one bedroom does not have an ensuite. The crib mattress height is permanently set to the lowest setting to accomodate all babies not just newborns. We do not provide tools for guests to adjust the height because we do not want guests taking apart the crib and potentially making it unsafe for the next child. (adjustable cribs are dangerous and most have been recalled or kits to permanently fix the height issued). The crib mattress is less than 2 yrs old and has only been used few months overs those 2 yrs but I will take a look at it to make sure it hasn't been damaged. The towels are located in each bathroom (for guest convenience) in the linen closet if the bathroom has one or under the sink. Each bathroom has minimum of 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths. If the bathroom serves a room that has more beds (ie bunkroom that sleeps 12) then there are at least 12 towels.

I sorry to hear that you time at Lake anna wasn't what you expected. I apologize again for the house not being ready when you arrived at 4pm - the cleaners didn't have your reservation on their calendar. I messaged you right away apologizing and offering $100 so you could take the family to ice cream or pizza (5 miles down the road) while they finished making the house perfect for you. I didn't get any reply so I assumed you were content with the resolution. Less than 2 hrs later as promised the cleaners were finished. The listing clearly says that the house is located on the private side/warm side which for most people is a plus - as you don 't have to deal with all the crowds and boat traffic that the public side is infamous for. You CAN rent a boat and trailer it to the private side. All guests have access to our community marina less than 2 blocks from the house for launching and you can park the boat at the house or use the free day slips at the marina. I'm not sure what you mean by fishy. After you checked out the the cleaners inspected the property and found the "pocket" of the air hockey table had been ripped off and was laying on the floor. Wiring was damaged and the machine no longer functions. As is required I filed an insurance claim with VRBO with date stamped pictures. Maybe your group didn't use the game but a child used the pocket as a step - who knows. It was strange that you wanted access to my home so you could pickup the broken one
