We had a fantastic family stay at this shipping-container cabin near the Red River Gorge, and it absolutely lived up to the listing. The place is genuinely unique — the rooftop deck, spiral slide, and swings were a huge hit with the kids, and the hot tub and fire pit made the evenings just as fun as the days. It’s clear the owners put real thought and care into the design, and everything was clean and well maintained from the moment we walked in.The location was perfect for our trip. We were just minutes from Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park, which made it easy to get out on the trails early and come back to relax. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, and the playful touches throughout the cabin made it feel like an experience, not just a place to sleep.If you’re traveling with family and want a basecamp for hiking RRG that’s a little more memorable than the usual cabin, this is a great pick. We’d happily stay here again.

Spring break

Awesome place! The kids loved the supplied games! Kitchen had absolutely everything you could need and I loved the sheets on the bedding. Bimini ring game was a nice touch!

We loved our stay. Stayed for four nights with four adults and four kids ages 4-6. We have been to red river gorge a few times before, and will definitely check if the base camp inn is available when we come back again! The kids loved the place, especially the bunk bed and the slide. The house was clean and exactly as pictured in the photos. We enjoyed the fire pit, the upper deck, and the swings. The garage door window over the sink is the cutest design and we had the perfect weather to enjoy it! The entire cabin is well thought out and the space is utilized in such a great way. The kitchen had what we needed and we enjoyed several meals in. The small dining table served our needs well, we also used the folding chairs that were outside a few different times. We had good cell reception when outside or up in the birds nest (coziest little loft!). Definitely recommend a stay at this place!

Overpriced Cabin

I chose this property over 2 others because it looked unique and fun for the children. It was price higher than the other two. This unit was a lot smaller than I thought it was. Also, it has 3 airconditioners. None of them take moisture out of the air. At night the bedding would get wet from the moist air. The owner needs to install some dehumidifiers. One will not do it. We have Verizon cellular, almost no signal in the house. The house has not wifi, so no phone, no wifi, not TV. Not good with children. Would NOT rent this place again.

Hey William, we appreciate your honest feedback with us. The RRG can be very humid in the midst of the summer heat here. The mini split units do blow our lower humidity air, but we will look into a dehumidifier. I do have Verizon cell phone service and get 2-3 bars in the development here, the Cabin here is made from Shipping containers and may block some service inside. But I've never had issue using my phone. Hope we can host you at one of our many RRGGetaway properties!
