I highly recommend staying at the Merchant’s Cabin! The cabin is phenomenal and has everything you could need. The decor is absolutely perfect! I definitely recommend spending a night having a campfire. The wood provided in the shed is perfect for smokeless fires. My dog absolutely loved the backyard and the opportunity to walk out to the water. This location made it so easy to get to Bar Harbor and Acadia without the traffic. I would absolutely stay here again and plan to do so!

The kayaks that came with the cabin were a lot of fun. It was really nice to enjoy the beauty of Maine at the parks and right in front of the Cabin with direct water access. The air conditioner in the main room kept the whole space cool on warm days. The street traffic was very loud though while on the deck. Overall we had a great stay, only feedback is that the mattress is annoyingly loud and needs to be replaced.

Fantastic cabin for family of 5 and our dog. Cassie the host was easy to communicate with and gave us some local spots to visit. Grocery store is 15 minutes away. We cooked every night in the cabin. The pair of hummingbirds visiting the feeder was an extra bonus. Me and my son fished at high tide. Beautiful sunrises. House was clean and very comfortable. Would love to return. We had no complaints. My younger kids learned to kayak. We made so many memories. Traveled from Buffalo NY

Place was comfy and clean and a great way to relax. Great place to spend some family time and very dog friendly. Mosquitoes were killer and the road was loud. Kayaking was fun.

Great Maine Stay

Keys at the cabin. Clean, internet, friendly place. Loved the cabin and the location. Would stay there again but our stay would be longer.

Cozy cabin by the water

Beautiful cabin next to a tidal bay. Kayaked right out from the yard. Half hour to bar harbor. Friendly and thoughtful host.

Family vacation to Acadia

Very comfortable and clean cabin conveniently located 30 mins from Acadia National Park. Host responded very quickly to a question we had. Easy check in and check out.

MERCHANT’S CABIN

Our stay at Merchant’s Cabin in Hancock was fantastic. The cabin is perfect for a relaxing family vacation. The accommodations are excellent and the property owner, Cassie is great to work with. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a relaxing place to stay close to Acadia.

Ideal Maine retreat

Everything about the cabin was great! They had kayaks & a canoe available for use. Great deck, cornhole, comfortable beds, great shower! Perfect spot for our families to stay in while we explore the area, including Bar Harbor & Acadia. Excellent tips on directions, restaurant suggestions, etc. Highly recommend, would definitely return.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. It was clean, well taken care of, quiet and relaxing. The decor was adorable. Would highly recommend this cabin for anyone.. We will be back!!

Perfect Retreat and Homebase

Our trip was wonderful and we really enjoyed this cabin! The host was super communicative and the space was everything we needed. It was close enough to Acadia and very close to several restaurants. It also had a huge yard and beautiful water view, with access to a fire pit and many other amenities. Would definitely stay there again!

We had a great time at the cabin. Beautiful location, nice kitchen, even a really good place for dogs. We had everything to be comfortable. At nights the sky was breathtaking. The only problem was the mattresses. They kept creaking. Backyard was amazing! We had a such a relaxing time.

Such a beautiful cabin with an incredible view! Very clean! Great communication from property owner. Perfect rental for 4-6 people. We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay, it was close enough to town but also a private getaway. We look forward to the next time! Thank you!!

The house was very nice and cozy! We appreciated the cleanliness and care put into the place. Our only concern was a neighborhood dog that wandered outside every once in a while, so be aware of that being a possibility if your dog is dog-aggressive or reactive. Otherwise completely perfect for us!

We really loved the inside of the cabin! It had so much character and charm! The cabin itself was cozy, unique, and beautifully decorated, and we really enjoyed the overall feel of the space. One of our favorite things was the beautiful views of the bay. It was so nice to be able to enjoy the scenery right from the cabin.A few things to be aware of before booking: there are very few curtains/blinds, so privacy can be limited since people can see cabin from the outside. There is also public water access less than 100 yards from the cabin, which can get busy. The road directly in front of the cabin is a main road and is very busy, so there is quite a bit of traffic noise. There is also a neighboring home less than 50 yards away, so the cabin feels less secluded than we initially expected.The single bed on the main level also creaks quite a bit with movement, which may be something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper.On the positive side, the location is very convenient. You’re within easy driving distance of gas stations, restaurants, grocery stores, retail shops, and pretty much anything you may need during your stay. Bar Harbor is also less than 40 minutes away, making it a convenient home base for exploring the area and visiting Acadia National Park.Overall, we loved the cabin’s charm, character, and beautiful bay views. While it wasn’t as private or secluded as we expected, the convenient location and proximity to everything made it a great base for exploring

Cozy Cabin

Beautiful log cabin, loved the antique decor. Everything we needed, great view, comfy beds. For dog walking, go directly across the highway, up the hill less than a quarter mile. There is a little inlet on the left with a park sign. Great walk in the woods, so glad we found that. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Michiganders vacation in Maine

The Merchant’s Cabin was a perfect home for our family of four and dog while we vacationed for the week. The location was great as it allowed us to hop over to Tidal Falls and Schoodic one day and Bar Harbor the next. We grilled with the charcoal and gas grill and used the provided pots for a lobster boil. We enjoyed watching the tide go in and out each day. If we’re ever back in Maine, we would definitely stay here again!

Maine Getaway

It was a perfect spot for my wife and I. The view overlooking the spacious backyard and the water was quite beautiful from the deck. Very well furnished, all we had to do was supply the groceries and relax. The cabin felt quite secluded even though we were minutes away from many attractions and restaurants. Very satisfied!!!
