Gulf Shores, Alabama is a family-friendly beachfront town. This condo is located WALKING DISTANCE from one of Gulf Shores' most popular tourist attractions and a must-see place while you're down here, The Hangout. Other activities offered in this area include: charter fishing boats, boat & jet ski rentals, parasailing, dolphin cruises, sunset sailboat cruises, beautiful back bays for boating, tubing, skiing and fishing, amusement parks, great restaurants with entertainment for all ages, golf, outlet malls, shopping, live concerts at The Wharf Amphitheater, and of course, plenty of powder-white sand.

1. Check-in is 4pm | Check-out is 10am.
2. No Smoking in condo or on balcony.
3. Pets are NOT allowed.
4. Loud parties or gatherings will not be tolerated.
5. Must be at least 25 years old to rent. For groups of Single Adults, all guests in the group must be at least 25 years of age and proof of age will be required before approving the reservation.

Fall break

We’ve stayed at the Whaler multiple times and will probably again in the future. The condo was spacious and clean and met all of our expectations. I would stay here again.

Nice place

It was a nice place. The pool was green and the air conditioner could not seem to keep up. We enjoyed the stay. I just wish the pool would have been better.

DO NOT STAY AT THE WHALER! Unless you enjoy using the stairs. Elevator didn’t work. We unfortunately were on the top floor. We refused to carry all our stuff down 7 flights of stairs. Supposedly, they’re sending a couple people to help us. Other than the sliding glass door being extremely difficult to open and shut, the rest of the condo wasn’t too bad. It’s older, but was clean on arrival. Small pool. Great water view. Small bathrooms. Communications about the elevator were terrible. Beach Getaways will not get any more of my business.

As you mentioned, The Whaler is a smaller, lower-density property, which makes it a favorite among couples, small families, and groups of friends looking for a quieter, less crowded beach and pool experience. We’re sorry an unexpected elevator issue created such a frustrating end to your visit. The elevator had been operating throughout your stay but stopped working the day before your departure. Although the building and its facilities are managed by the HOA, our team remained in contact with them as they worked to secure a technician, diagnose the issue, and obtain the needed replacement parts. We also responded promptly to your messages, shared the information available to us, and arranged for team members to assist with your belongings. We’re happy to share that The Whaler is scheduled to receive a full refresh this winter, including a brand-new elevator. We would sincerely welcome you back to enjoy a fresh experience at this much-loved property—with the new elevator ready to do the heavy lifting.

Family Spring Break

The view couldn't be any better! There were 7 of us and it was a little tight for that many. We were on 7th floor and the elevator quit working.floor

Great View

From the Seventh floor the view of the beach and Gulf Coast was fantastic. This Unit was well maintained and clean. The only improvement that could be made would be that the balcony sliding door was not easy to open as it seemed to stick (probably more of an issue for me as a 70 person than the others in our family). The beach is right outside the property and an easy walk to the water. The pool is well maintained. This is a great place for a restful vacation.
