We loved the Hilton . Close to beach. Comfy beds. Great backyard. Perfect for a family.

The cottage was exactly as described and had all we needed. The beach was a short walk down the street. It's a great centralized location to do warm sandy beaches on the west shore, and beautiful hikes and cave exploration on the east shore.

This cottage is in a perfect location with great accessibility to Sauble and many beautiful spots to hike, bike and enjoy the outdoors. The cottage was clean and equipped with everything you needed. We have been renting in Howdenvale for years and this is a spot to stay at, relax and enjoy!

Family getaway

It had a beautiful quiet beach and our dog loves swimming, and a wonderful fire pit to roast marshmallows on in the evening. A very short drive to Sable Beach so it’s a great location!

Lovely cozy cabin for May 24

We had such a lovely time at the Howdenvale Hilton enjoying spring on the Bruce Peninsula. There are just the right number of blankets and a cute little heater to keep us warm on the cold days.

Beautiful property - would go back

My stay definitely wasn't long enough! Communication with the owner was great, clean place, beautiful location. I would be happy to return and stay for longer.

We enjoyed our stay in this cute little cottage, it was just enough space for our family of 4, and having separate rooms for the kids was a must! Location was good for us as we explored the region from Sauble/Saugeen Beach to Tobermory. Don't miss Sauble Falls also! Kitchen was well equiped and we did not experience any broken appliances.However we do think communication and expectations management would be greatly improved by stating in the listing that no bedding, towels, or other linens are provided prior to booking. This misunderstanding caused us quite some stress and reorganization when we found out - bringing all these items with you takes up a lot of space when you pack your bags. It's also a little disappointing given you pay a cleaning fee. However, that was the only downside we encountered, and once everything was cleared up, we really enjoyed our stay there.

I'm glad to hear you stay was good .. sorry for the communication lapse .. in the bedding section on the website it always said to bring your own linens .. however I believe VRbo updated the website and it might of been left out ...it is def. Easy to get to, easy to get in. Caught a very large pike right off the government dock just down the road.

Relaxing stay in calm neighbourhood

We enjoyed our stay and loved the way all instiructions were left for smooth stay. Overall cottage had everything we needed for a peaceful and fun weekend. Loved the neighbourhood and the people around us. Would love to visit again and may be for longer stay. Thank you Steve and Dianne.

Nice Cottage

We enjoyed three nights at this family cottage. Would recommend buying groceries before arriving. Also you may be asked to provide your own bedding, which we not onerous.

A nice getaway place

Good location for nearby daytrips to towns and the Bruce Trail. Approximately 35 minutes from the Grotto and 15 from Wiarton. Cozy cottage and the front deck was nice to sit and enjoy the afternoon sun. Local beach is good if you have younger children; nice sandy area and shallow for swimming. Customer service is very good, any questions were answered promptly.

Great stay during summer

Cozy interior space with all the necessities. Large deck and grassy area for outdoor recreation. A great quiet area close to many Bruce activities. You must bring your own bedding and toiletries. No hassle check-in and great communication with host. They were able to accomodate last minute change of dates.

Nice cottage experience near lakefront

It was a pleasant stay at this cottage which has everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Instructions were clear, check in process was smooth and enjoyed the stay as the cottage felt very welcoming. So nothing to complain at all. The best part was patio lights and the fire pit where we had a evening hangout with our family. Also the lakefront is within couple of mins from the place. All in all, a great stay.

Perfect Getaway!

We absolutely loved this cottage and the owners were extremely easy to work with. The place had a nice woodburning fireplace that made the cool Fall evenings super cozy. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare all our meals. We were able to enjoy a view of the lake at sunset from the deck which wrapped around to the backyard with a fire pit. Location was off the beaten track but that's what we wanted and it made for a quiet peaceful stay. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to come back again.

Perfect for a smaller group

We enjoyed our stay for the most part but the cottage was too small for the 6 of us. We are bigger people and had some issues grtting in and out of the bedrooms. Also the Beach they have listed in the ad barely goes up to your shins no matter how far you go out and is covered in sharp rocks. The sand is nice to play in though. We went swimming at sauble.

Wonderful for families!

I stayed here with my sons (twins, 21 & a 16 year old). We had a great time! It was nice to have a kitchen so we could make breakfasts and dinners. Grocery store options were close. We had plenty of space to stretch out and not feel as if we were on top of one another. The beds were very comfortable. Steve was helpful providing suggestions for things to see in the area. We enjoyed The Grotto (book a parking reservation ahead of time!), seeing Greig’s Cave, swimming in Howdenvale Bay (an easy walk from the cottage), and an adventurous swim in Lake Huron from Whiskey Beach. While there is a lovely backyard with a fire pit, we were too tired by the end of the day to use it (plus the evenings were warm). Thank you, Steve and Dianne!!

Listing

There is no Cleaning Service between renters. This did not make us comfortable specially during Covid. How do we know this the previous renters left their sheet on the kitchen table. We were told we needed to bring so many essensials such as toilet paper, paper towel etc. which was not stated on the VRBO site only to find all of these available at the cottage. We went for a hiking trip so location is good. One bonus is there is a filtration system so you can drink the water.

Loved it!!

We really enjoyed staying at this property. It was in a great location, and easy to get to. The house was very clean, comfortable bed, and can't think of anything we would need that wasn't there. I would definitely stay here again!!!

Picture perfect

This cottage is exactly as shown in the vrbo site. Upon arrival the property was well groomed and the front porch very welcoming. The interior was immaculate and well furnished. The kitchen was well appointed and met the needs of 3 very good cooks. The owners were very informative and were readily available to take our calls. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone except those who find stairs a challenge.
