We absolutely loved our stay at this house! The home was beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and it had everything we needed to feel right at home. The location was perfect, and the space was even better than we expected. The host was wonderful and made everything easy from check-in to check-out. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway!

This house is so adorable! We had a blast staying here. Our favorite parts were having a ton of space both inside and outside. The dining room area was my favorite it is so pretty and had plenty of room for family dinners. The location is great too, 3min drive to the beach! I did read some past reviews about ac and hot water but we didn't have any issues with it. It is an older house so it takes some extra time to cool and for pipes to heat up but once you gave it a couple minutes everything was great. I did have to do some cleaning before we unpacked and that was a bit annoying because there was nothing to clean with so I had to go to the store and buy cleaning supplies.

The house is an amazing piece of history and a treat to stay in. My one complaint is the mattresses where very uncomfortable.

Pool was cool but the lack of hot water made the showers at end of day terrible and the fact the bedrooms was 80 or higher the hole time made it hard to get sleep I’ve stayed in 50 or more houses on this site this is the worst one

Overall, Monkey Business is a nice place that is close to so many things. The pool is nice and refreshing, the beds are comfortable and the porch is a nice place to sip your coffee or cocktail. The inside was mostly clean and there is so much room to spread out.Negatives: We had to take cold to lukewarm showers the 5 nights we stayed. It was reported and were told to let it warm up and to lower any multiple usage. We had already tried these things so contacted the host again but never heard back.Upon our arrival we found sand all over the back porch, a lot of trash lying around the backyard (some sharp objects) and the pool toys were thrashed. The table was dirty. We had to clean up the yard before we could enjoy it. We were looking forward to playing ping pong, but the paddles were broken. Communication was good but could have been much better. We didn't feel we were being taken very seriously. After our trip, I requested a refund and were given about a 4% discount. We appreciated it but felt they could've done a little better. I really hope management will address these issues as this place has a lot to offer!

Perfect home getaway

We booked last minute as our vacation plans were changed due to weather. We were very happy with our stay. Was exactly as listed, very beautiful home and the backyard oasis provided the best stress relief. Kitchen was stocked so well with pots pans etc that was needed for our stay. We would recommend again and again!

Kids loved it!!

It rained the whole time we were in Galveston, but that didn’t put a damper on the swimming 😆 Our kids loved the pool and being able to spread out in the spacious house. It was spotless, and comfortable. We just had a hard time w/ back and forth communication, but nothing went wrong, so wasn’t much of an issue!! We’d stay again for sure!

Could do with some TLC

The property was very quirky, lots of space and good amenities. However there were a few things that need attention. The gates are falling off the hinges, one bedroom's ceiling fan didn't work,another the light didn't work. The window in the main upstairs bathroom was shattered with the decal coming off, the front porch swing was also broken. We asked if it was possible to check in early (around 2pm instead of 4pm) and were advised that the house had not been cleaned yet and we could pay an additional $75 to get the cleaners out early. We didn't bother as we decided to go for a late lunch instead. However when we arrived at the property (around 4.30pm) the downstairs smoke alarm was giving out the low battery signal - a beep every 30 seconds and a low battery voice message every 2-3 minutes. I found it strange that the cleaners had not reported this considering they were meant to have been out that afternoon! However, they did get the groundstaff out and it was fixed the following morning. This aside the house was very nice, and in a good area, walking distance to cafes and to the beach. After checking out I received an email regarding the damaged bathroom window as apparently the ground staff/cleaners had not reported this. I advised that it was like that and reported the additional issues. I was thanked for replying but between that and the additional fee for early entry I felt it was more of a money grab and not the customer service received from previous VRBO stays

One of the best VRBO experiences of all time - amazing home and perfect amenities. The house is a gem with incredible detail to art and history and architecture. We were delighted too to bottom and will be back!!!!
