Om overnatningsstedet

Manzanita Oceanview Retreat | Pet Friendly Stay

Escape to our charming beachside cabin, blending bohemian chic with modern comforts.

This open-concept retreat tucked away in Manzanita's Neahkahnie area offers a unique layout: while bedrooms have no doors, privacy is ensured with clever partitions. Enjoy the cozy ambiance of our fireplace, and let the sweeping ocean views hypnotize you. Just steps from the ocean, our cabin sleeps 6 comfortably and two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a soaking bath. We even invite you to bring your furry pal too!

Manzanita is an oceanside village tucked in between three distinctive landmarks: the vast Pacific Ocean, the large coastal headland at Neahkahnie Mountain, and the sheltered Nehalem Bay. One of three communities ringing Nehalem Bay, Manzanita is close in driving distance to the towns of Nehalem and Wheeler. The bay boasts excellent fishing spots, with great catches of Chinook salmon, sturgeon, and steelhead trout, as well as crabbing and clam-digging at low tide. Manzanita is scenic, and originally drew interest from Portland tourists for its turquoise surf, striking exposed cliffs, and dreamlike, hazy horizons. Retreat homes line the beach and nautically-named streets end in paths to the ocean.

Beautiful home just a short walk from a very uncrowded beach. Our host was very communicative and we had everything we needed for a lovely stay for the week.

Private and elevated setting worked well for our small dog who is reactionary when seeing movement outside windows. Easy access to a more secluded section of the beach.

Great place and sterling location. The upstairs is the photogenic part; it’s a beautiful space that feels good to be in, with a lovely deck and lovely view. Tight spaces around the beds, so it might be tricky if you need extra accessibility. The bottom story is concrete block; the bedroom there is super well done given the constraints, but it’s slightly less glamorous and a bit more basement-y.E-bikes, surfboards, wetsuits—it’s crazy well stocked. Spend a week there and enjoy.

Jeff, Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the upstairs space, views, and deck—it really is a favorite spot for soaking in the atmosphere. We appreciate you highlighting both the design touches and the abundance of gear available; it’s wonderful to hear guests take advantage of all the extras. Your note about accessibility and the lower level is helpful, and we’ll make sure future guests know what to expect. We’re glad you had a great stay and would love to welcome you back anytime!

The house was lovely and perfect for 2 people. The only appliance that did not work well was the dishwasher—it did not clean plates with any food debris at all.

Thank you for your kind words—we’re so glad the home was a perfect fit for your stay! We appreciate the note about the dishwasher. It’s in good working order but, like most dishwashers, it does prefer a quick rinse before loading. We’ll make sure to add a reminder in the house notes so expectations are clear. We’d love to host you again anytime!

So small and poorly located for the price. We stayed only 1 of our 3 nights. Left to get a better VRBO rental. Nothing about this home was comfortable for us. It just did not work for us

ChatGPT 5 You said: This guest booked and just sent a message after 1 night that they were leaving and the house didnt work for them. The house has very thorough pictures and an online matterport in the guidebook and the listing even has a room layout with dimensions. The guest reaches out and just says the house isnt for them bit then on the review bashes us for what clearly was them. The house has absolutely wonderful reviews and this is so unfair to do to our entire team that works so hard to make sure that every personal touch from the snack basket to the bath bombs is taken care of. Guests like this are of no value to anyone. So small and poorly located for the price. We stayed only 1 of our 3 nights. Left to get a better VRBO rental. Nothing about this home was comfortable for us. It just did not work for us ChatGPT said: Here’s a professional yet firm way you can respond publicly to that unfair review while protecting your reputation and honoring all the hard work of your team: Response to Guest Review: We are very sorry to hear this home was not the right fit for you. We take pride in providing thorough transparency—our listing includes a full Matterport 3D tour, a detailed floor plan with room dimensions, and over 40 photos to ensure guests know exactly what to expect before booking. Our team works hard to create a warm, welcoming stay for every guest—from stocking the coffee bar and snack basket to adding bath bombs and personal touches throughout the home.

Our only complaint is that we loved the property so much that we asked if it was available for an extra day and unfortunately it wasn’t! lol My wife is an interior designer and decorates VRBOs and the attention to details in this home is amazing!

Magical, cozy & steps from the beach!!

Our little family of four loved our spur of the moment trip to neahkanie beach! The home was one street from the beach and as cozy as can be! Beautifully decorated, stocked with games and a wood burning stove made the stay magical. The kitchen is small but not lacking in supplies and there was a larger fridge down in the garage . The heated bathroom floors were wonderful and the views were amazing as well! Cons: no doors on any of the bedrooms and one bathroom doesn’t have a mirror on the wall- but may not be an issue for some! We’d definitely return !! Also exceptional service and communication from the owners!!

Wow, it sounds like your trip to Neahkahnie Beach was a delightful adventure! I’m thrilled to hear that the home was so cozy and well-equipped—those little touches like the games and wood-burning stove really do make a difference. The heated bathroom floors must have been a real treat too! It’s great that you enjoyed the views and the overall charm of the place. It sounds like the lack of bedroom doors and the mirror in one bathroom were minor issues in an otherwise fantastic stay. It’s awesome to know that the service and communication from the owners were exceptional as well. I’m glad you had such a memorable experience and would consider returning!
