We had a wonderful girls week! The house was perfect, the pool was great. Sadly the lake was down so we weren’t able to access it but we relaxed and lounged by the pool. Ellen was fantastic to communicate with and everything was great! Highly recommend this home! The location was just what we wanted, quiet, private and beautiful!

Great home with lots of character, beautifully decorated and everything you need. The pool, grill and fenced in decking made this a great outdoor space for our family and dogs. Unfortunately the lake was so low the dock was on dry ground so we weren’t able to enjoy the lake like we planned. Having the pool area saved the week though.

House was as described outdoor space was wonderful with the pool and deck. Beds were comfortable plenty of room for the six of us. The record player was great listening to some great tunes.

A very enjoyable property to relax, and if you bring your best friend, in our case it is Honey Bee our beloved dog, this property is for you! It has a great outdoor space, and the deck is totally enclosed, so no concerns for safety. The deck area with the pool is the central winning factor for grilling out, watching the stars and having a perfect time with friends. Ellen, the host, was totally upfront before our stay that the water level was low on Lake Hartwell. We still chose to keep the rental, and we were thrilled we did. I hope next time we visit, the lake will rise, and we can park a pontoon at their dock; now that would make it the perfect spot.

Great Spot on the Lake

The house was wonderful with a great layout and very welcoming decor. The pool and dock are a great bonus for this beautiful spot on a quiet part of the lake.

Wonderful place for a respite for the two of us and our pup. We loved the decks and bucolic setting with the dense southern forest towering over the sparkling lake and crystal clean pool. The chairs and beds were comfy and welcome after a swim or a hike. Too much to do. We'll have to come back!

House impecably clean. They leave you lots of goodies like tp, paper towels, hand soap, and condiments. House was very cozy and comfy. Pool was amazing. Enjoyed bbqs!!!! Lake was great. We rented a pontoon for 3 days. Very quiet neighborhhood. Loved it. Paddle boat was fun

Hartwell Getaway

We truly enjoyed our stay. This home is so comfortable. They had everything we could possibly need. We had coffee in the mornings on the deck and it was so quiet and peaceful. We went out on the lake in the paddle- boat a few times and really enjoyed ourselves. We took an excursion to Toccoa Falls, it is a really beautiful place to see! We would love to come back in the future!

Peaceful and Serene

Perhaps one of the most relaxing and enjoyable getaways our family has had in quite a while - which included my wife and I along with son and daughter-in-law. The pool and surrounding deck makes this a very special property, as there is plenty of room for sunning and swimming, as well as sitting under the beautiful hardwood trees to read a book. The house itself is very comfortable and accessorized with features you will find to make it feel like home, such as well appointed kitchen and bathrooms, extra pool towels, and so forth. We are already talking to other friends and family members about our next stay at this Lake Hartwell hideaway.

Don’t miss out on this amazing lake house!

Our group included 5 adults (family & friends), one infant, and one dog. There was more than enough space and amenities for everyone to be comfortable and enjoy! The pool is a HUGE perk - we stayed in it for a large part of our stay. We were able to prepare several meals in the well-stocked kitchen. And we used the dock for our own boat. The house is very child-friendly and decorated nicely. We felt it was extremely clean and exceeded all our expectations! Communication was great before and during. We would book again in a heartbeat (and hope to next summer!).

Great Stay

Had a great stay! The pool is very nice and was probably the highlight of our trip! Nice, covered dock was a huge plus for our pontoon! The house was supplied well with the neccessities, towels, rags, trash bags, dishwasher pods...etc For pontoon owners, the driveway is a no go. I tried to make it work, just was unable to without using the yard. This may work for single axle or smaller boat trailers, but not for my tandem pontoon trailer. Thankfully, the very nice folks at Tugaloo State Park allowed me to park it in their parking lot behind their office during our stay. A minor inconvenience for an otherwise great stay! Just a forewarning so future guests are prepared, not a negative review on the property! Would stay again!

Best stay on Lake Hartwell!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Oasis! The place was spotless! All the beds were extremely comfortable and those sheets felt like I was in an expensive hotel. Plenty of room for my family of four along with my parents and two dogs. I really appreciated having enough towels, toilet paper, paper towels, etc for our stay! Thank you for having beach towels as I forgot to bring ours. Temperatures were 99 degrees outside but the air conditioning kept the house cool and comfortable the entire time of our stay. The pool was where we spent most our time and we loved having the tv outside to listen to music or watch a movie at night. Our boys enjoyed taking the row boat and paddle boat out for a cruise in the evenings while the older adults played cards and games. My grandmother had a table just like the one that is in the kitchen so that was a nice surprise for my mom and I as we would drink our coffee there and reminisce. My father enjoyed the record player and the big tv in the living room. My husband was thankful for the excellent WiFi connection and desk with a view as he had to work a bit while we were there. Ellen and Kirk thought of everything and were very quick to respond when I had any questions. We would definitely love to stay here again when we visit Lake Hartwell!

This was our second time at Hickory Hideaway and we loved it again! Even with the lake being too low to bring our boat, we had plenty of fun things to do. We swam each day, played board games, took the john boat out, walked the water’s edge, and visited the Hartwell Wildlife Safari! The kitchen is well stocked, as well as the entire home. Lavonia and Toccoa are both close and have plenty of food options. We would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a chill stay in the woods.
