Honua Kai is an amazing resort

Spa like environment

We sure enjoyed the quiet of our condo -- the peak a boo ocean view from our patio was just enough for us to enjoy morning coffee and listen to the birds. The space was nicely furnished, clean and spacious. Having the coffee cafe and Gelato available on the ground floor made it an easy, frequent stop. Dukes is nice to have close by, wish it had more outdoor seating as it's a picture perfect spot. We look forward to a return visit, although celebrating our daughter Maddie's marriage proposal was a highlight hard to top! Thank you for the wonderful memories!

Well run resort. New, clean, roomy condo.

Great location in Kaanapali north of Black Rock. Nice walking paths outside the resort on the beach side. Condo was new and nicely equipped very roomy. Nice clean Resort. Only thing was rolling rocks on the beach that hurt your legs when they hit you, not sure if this is a seasonal or all year round event. 3 Nice sized pools for adults or kids. Plenty of shopping nearby. Plenty of underground parking. KBM managment group easy to work with.

Would recommend KKBM great customer service

The one bedroom condo we rented was very spacious. The appliance were great loved having the washer & dryer. They were all easy to operate. It was great having a restaurant on the property. It was great that beach chairs, umbrella, ice chest & beach towels were included with the condo. Check-in went very smoothly. We had a great time and would recommend KBM Resorts for there great customer service.

Loved Our Stay

Everything was clean and well prepared for our unit. The bed was very comfortable, and AC was nice and cool when needed. The kitchen was decently stocked with what we needed to cook meals most every night. The tub was great for my nightly soaks from our hikes. We even washed some clothing in the washer and dryer. The unit had beach chairs and umbrellas that we did not use on this trip but the rolling ice chest was a blessing to have for day trips even just to keep our bottled water cold. The management company was great to help me resolve an issue I had while on site, appreciated that very much. We also appreciated the rental car that came with our unit rental. We will be back!

Everyone checking in here needs to know this resort is across the street from the sewage treatment plant...not the fragrant Hawaii aroma we were looking for! Yikes!!! Hot water was scarce too...odd to run out of hot water mid shower on mutilple occassions. Lastly the TV didn't work either

Aloha we are so happy you had a fabulous Christmas vacation! The treatment plant is capped - the sulfur you sensed is from the grey water irrigation system shared by all resorts in Kaanapali. It waters once per night at 3am while most guests are sleeping. There is an extra large hot water tank to easily provide water for a family of 4, we suggest a two bedroom villa if you sleep more than 4. The TVs work great - the red power button turns on each TV and you can navigate the channels using the up down arrows. See you again soon!

Poorly managed condo that could otherwise be great

KBM was incredibly rude and unaccommodating every step of the way and they don’t maintain this condo well. The condo itself has a great layout and could be very nice if KBM managed it properly. First of all, it was not clean (hair in the bathroom, dirty kitchen floor, laundry closet filthy, sofa had stains and dried-on food, one of the two kitchen pendants over the bar was burned out, light switches didn’t work in the bedroom, two other light bulbs were burned out, bed was made very sloppily, none of the clocks were set to the correct time. KBM would not allow us to check in 30 min early and were very rude when we asked. They acted like they were doing us a big favor by renting to us. The instructions they provided for arrival and departure were unnecessarily complicated and confusing. I was honestly amazed by their rudeness and their poor management of a condo that could be beautiful. The unit is very loud inside because of the hallway with kids running down the hall and screaming. Overall I would say Honua Kai is not a good choice unless you are traveling with young children. We moved over to the Mahana next door and it was paradise compared to Honua Kai. I hesitate to give this negative review because the issues were not the fault of the owner but rather KBM but decided it might help the owner to know this.

Aloha, We are so happy you had a fabulous vacation! We did answer all of your phone calls demanding an early check-in. When you arrived at the door early, our housekeeping, maintenance, and inspection teams who were all in the villa at the same time were asked to leave before completing their preparations for your arrival. Therefore, you did not experience our signature 5-star housekeeping and sanitization program. For your next visit, we recommend adhering to our early checkin guidance or, at the very least, allowing our housekeeping, maintenance, and inspection teams time to complete their preparations to ensure the villa is delivered to your ohana in our signature 5-star pristine order. We look forward to having you back next year!

I loved the resort and cannot wait to return!

We will definitely rent through KBM again! The booking process was smooth and it was truly the best deal out there for a place in Maui! Our flight arrival was late but KBM sent emails and voicemails to explain what we needed to do in a late arrival. They eased my mind that we would have nothing to worry about when we arrived. The condo was clean and a perfect size for the three of us. When we had a last minute request, KBM had someone bring what we needed the next day. I loved the resort and cannot wait to return!

From the moment of booking, I must say this was the most pleasant experience my wife and I have had in a long time. All questions we had about the vacation were answered by KBM in the emails/links provided(very thorough!). Arriving very late to Maui, a representative of KBM called us. We met at our accommodations for a tour and to answer all of our questions. The unit was very very nice(even had all the beach equipment we needed for our stay!) and as described on KBM's website. The resort was beautiful- lots of pools, BBQs and sitting areas. We would definitely book at this resort again using KBM. A very enjoyable experience from start to finish!
