Another local favorite is focaccia, traditionally dough with a crispy bottom topped with tomatoes and herbs, and consumed virtually any time of day and sold down the street from the Maisonette.

Finally, you will see orecchiette (ear-like) pasta on most menus, as well as for sale in various colours at shops and stands all over Bari. Oh, and what’s better with pasta than Italian wine? Try Primitivo at least once during your stay, which is made with grapes grown either in Gioia delle Colle or Manduria - in Puglia.
