Lovely spot. The fireplace was an added bonus with a cool fall day. Host was very helpful and responded right away when we had a question. Would love to stay there again.

Our group of three had a fantastic four night stay in this spacious suite. It was stocked with items we needed for preparing meals, and we found the atmosphere clean, cozy, and very welcoming. Information for Wifi access, recycling/garbage guidelines, and additional considerations for our stay, etc, were clearly displayed. The bed in the primary suite, as well as the living room pull-out, were comfortable and we all slept well. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and encourage other travellers to consider this space for a peaceful get-away.

The suite is a wonderful place to stay. There is plenty of room. The king size bed is very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern. It was in a good location, close to downtown and other amenities. The hosts were very friendly. I would definitely recommend.

Amazing stay! Very well equipped apartment. Easy to contact the host when needed. Would 100% go back again. Most comfortable bed ever! And in a great location.

We had a great time!!! We enjoyed the place. We couldn't use everything they had to offer, like the tv and the board games. We used the cinema room and it was a nice experience. One improvement point would be a more comfortable couch for the proyection room.

Splendid… Spotless… Supplied “Charming private basement apartment with kingsize bed in brilliant Halifax” is all it claims and more. The pictures are accurate. It was spotlessly clean and well supplied for our three-night stay in Halifax. A perfect and restful spot while we explored the Halifax Harbor and Peggy’s Cove and the south shore. Highly recommended. Richard.

Nice place

Host had good communication and supportive. Basement suite was well furnished and comfortable. Only a minor inconvenience was the secondary pellet heater, which was hard to figure out properly and control.

This property did not live up to our expectations. The first and most disconcerting thing is that the unit was fitted with a dehumidifier that ran constantly and very noisily, including through the night. The kitchen was advertised to be fully fitted to prepare meals. There were several appliances in the kitchen but the stove was a two burner hot plate, not a stove at all. In addition, notes were posted in the kitchen not to use more than one appliance at a time or the circuit breaker would pop. Tought to cook a full meal under those limitations.Early in the morning the noise of water running down the pipe from the toilet being flushed upstairs woke us up. Shortly thereafter footsteps could be heard moving around upstairs.The unit was chilly and there only seemed to be a wood stove to heat.When we paid our final instalment the day before arrival was the first time we were provided pictures of how to access our unit. That was when we discovered we would have to take our luggage through a gate and down a significant slope ... that was damp and potentially slippery. Not good for a couple of very senior citizens.We were so disappointed that we stayed only the first night and then arranged alternate accommodation for the next four nights, foregoing our payment for five days at the Vrbo.

First of all, apologized that you did not have a good time. However, I do want to give you some feedback on your comments. According to dehumidifier, you definitely could turn off it if you do not want it working during your stay, we have ducted heatpump and HVAC which make sure the environment won't be too humid. The reason we run a dehumidifier before you coming was that those days that you booked were reported rainy, we actually want to make the place more comfy in wet days. If you reached out to us about this, it could be easily figured out. We have a senior couple stayed with us more than 2 months before you coming, they turned off the dehumidifier and no moisture issues. For others you mentioned, kitchen, steps, etc. We listed as a basement suite and uploaded actual pictures for each room. What we could improve may be limited. For you stayed only the first day, we were never informed. We did not receive any complains from you before we saw your review. We always try our best to satisfy all our guests and are ready to support them to have a great stay anytime but when we read this review we feel disappointed too. Again, apologies for what happened and hope you did have a great time in Halifax.

We liked everything about this place and our stay. The hosts are great! Pleasant, welcoming and accommodating. The layout is roomy and attractive while functional. When we visit Halifax we often stay in similar rentals and this one has been the best by far! We would definitely book again.
