The home is nestled on 2 acres and offers large living spaces, a full service kitchen, dining room, laundry room, a screened in porch with television, and multiple outside decks. This is the perfect setting for a family vacation, friend trip, or a long weekend retreat. Explore the Indiana Dunes State and National parks which are perfect for hiking, biking, sitting on the beach, and observing breath-taking sunsets. If you catch a clear day, you can see a beautiful view of downtown Chicago! Evenings can be spent relaxing to the glow of the massive stained glass window over the marble fireplace, sitting outside with a fire, shooting a game of pool, playing one of the console video games, reading a book, or driving into Chesterton or Valparaiso which offer shopping, restaurants, breweries, wineries, and other fun activities. Excellent communication from our host and house as depicted. The pool table was a nice touch and beds were comfortable . Located near town and Dunes.

The house was beautiful…exactly as shown. The host, Jen, was very responsive to my many questions. And I appreciate her kindness. The property is huge so if you have children, there is a very big yard to run and play. Kitchen and grill area were very well stocked. It’s very close to both the state and national parks. Wonderful place to stay while visiting. Looking forward to making a return visit!!

Spacious, well-equipped home on a large lot. Plenty of places to hang out indoors or out with many fun activities for everyone. Host has provide lots of extra touches to make your stay enjoyable. The primary suite is spacious and inviting.

Our family enjoyed our stay very much, especially with having a beautiful, peaceful large private property and a beautiful interior house design that is clean and well-kept accommodations, and so close to our favorite Lake Michigan beaches. This is a very comfortable home for family to relax and enjoy their home away from home.

The house was amazing. We had a wonderful time. It was stocked with everything we needed and it was great to have so many bedrooms and bathrooms for our family. The house was clean and the grounds were immaculate. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a beautiful house with everything you would need to house a large family. Several spaces to hang out. Fun things to do in the house: darts, pool, video game, access to multimedia and surround sound, board games. Super convenient location for the Dunes. Can’t say enough, we’ll be back!

The house is stunning, inside and out. It is a perfect location for a Dunes vacation. Jenn was great and responded quickly when needed. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas stove top and oven, extra appliances, beautiful and spacious fridge and a great breakfast bar. The entire family loved the old style arcade bowling, chess and pool. They have a great variety of books and games. We found a new game that we will need to purchase too, Smart Ass”We would definitely return if the opportunity arises!!

overall, a very nice accommodation for the 8 of us.Some minor things which are not dealbreakers. The kitchen cabinets are for tall people - if you are on the shorter side, difficult to reach glasses, cups, etc. Only one room is accessible for anyone having difficulties with stairs. And bathrooms are not all adjacent to bedrooms. Very nice decor with interesting touches throughout the house, TV's galore and so many games, activities. We also especially enjoyed the screened in porch in the morning drinking our coffee.The Dunes are incredibly close by so very handy. And the grounds are beautiful and well kept. Enough towels and comfortable beds. Maybe some standard size pillows would be nice. I can't say enough about Jennie - very nice and very responsive to all questions. And when we were getting ready to leave and one of us was having car problems, let us know if we needed more time to depart, it was no problem. We would definitely stay again and recommend others to stay as well.

The home and grounds are fantastic. Truly one of the most unique and well appointed homes we’ve ever stayed in. Plenty of room for our family of 10. It’s a great location for the dunes and beach.We have been staying at rental homes through various apps for years and this was one of our more uncomfortable encounters. The host made an unannounced visit to the property after we’d been there for about two hours. I’ve never had that happen. She spoke with one of my adult children who was outside. The next morning there was a message in the app asking for more money due to my misunderstanding of the pet policy. I want to be fair, it was my mistake and I gladly paid it, but the whole thing was strange. There are a lot of exterior and Ring cameras on the house. It felt a little more invasive, less private than what we are used to. So again, my error completely, but it definitely made us feel like we were being monitored. In a way I understand, I think this is the host’s primary home and it’s very special so I’d want to keep a close eye on it and protect it too. We loved the house and did have a wonderful time. It was just a little different than what we have experienced in the past as far as host involvement.

Thank you for the review. To be clear, there is an unattached garage on the property. At no point did we make an unannounced visit to the home. I did however enter the garage (not part of the rental) to retrieve tools that I required. I would like to address the dog situation - our policy very CLEARLY states, “2 dogs under 50 lbs.” I was a bit shocked when I was outside my neighbors home across the street and saw 4 large dogs. At least three of the 4 dogs brought into my home were over 50 lbs. It was kind to charge for the extra animals - I was well within my rights to cancel the rental entirely. We do have cameras on the outside of the home for safety, they are pointed at the edges of the property - not in common spaces where we they would be considered “invasive.”

Incredible home with room for all of us. Space for everyone to be together, and spaces for when some needed some time alone. Furnished very nicely. Kitchen stocked with everything one would need. Comfortable. Private, yet close to everything we wanted to do. Would definitely recommend. We hope to make it back at a later date.

My husband and I love to travel! Since our kids are grown and living on thier own, it is a perfect time for us to spend the summer in our camper visiting many of the beautiful state and national parks this great country has to offer. Instead of leaving our home empty, we thought we would allow others to come and enjoy what northwest Indiana and the Indiana Dunes State and National parks have to offer!

We love how close we are to Lake Michigan, the train line to Chicago, and the small towns nearby. There is more than corn in Indiana!

The back portion of the home used to be a carriage house for another property next door. In the 1940's it was converted to a small 1300 square foot home. The large deck at the back of the property was the original deck connected to the small home. Around 2010, a whopping 3500 square foot plantation/modern style addition was put on the front portion of the home, making this a nearly 5000 square foot house. The center point of the addition is the massive stained glass window over the oversized marble and black walnut fireplace and 30 foot ceilings. The main staircase railings were designed and custom built using metal and black walnut. The black and white checkered floor inside the front door is another unique feature. The front second story patio connects to the game room and to the primary bedroom. The primary bedroom has a second private patio at the back of the house. There is also a screened in room off of the dining room and living room, and a massive outside patio for entertaining.
