My stay

Property around the house look like low income, the inside of the house looked clean but had a foul smell to it had to buy air freshener to get rid of the smell, the grill located in the middle of the yard fixed in its location and very small no where set anything, laundry room was filthy no trash can water heater leaked and you had to go outside down the steps to use!!!

Just what we needed...

About as close to perfect as a beach rental could be. Great room layout with 3 corner bedrooms and a central entertainment/family room with adjacent kitchen. It's just a very short walk from the beach, too. We had a great time. Thank you.

Very nice place to stay

Nice house close to water. It was very clean, and had a convenient kitchen for breakfast every morning. TV’s in every room with Netflix, Disney +, etc. for everyone to enjoy. Really good pizza place just up the road within walking distance. The only downside to our trip was the ceilings on the bottom floor are apparently very thin, and there was a family with two toddlers and two dogs above us that apparently never really slept. With that being said, I would still absolutely stay again.

We love Lighthouse View!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 2nd year staying at Lighthouse View in a cottage. It’s great to have the option of pool and restrooms to change even before our house is ready. Although checkin was at 3 or 4, our house was ready at 1:30. They send a text which is wonderful - no need to check back with them for updates. We love the keypad door locks so there are no lost keys to worry about and the children can come and go easily. Although I mistakenly booked a “pet friendly” cottage, there was no evidence of pets inside or even outside. The entire property feels very safe, guests are very friendly, and it is quiet at night. The beach is very healthy - ghost crabs, cochina clams, minnows in the surf, and no trash in the sand. We like that we do not have to bring bed linens and extra blankets are available without having to ask. I do prefer the towel exchange over washing towels while we are there but also appreciate the washer / dryer on site. One of the best features are the dumpsters located throughout the property - no hour of garbage truck going house to house loudly dumping trash cans in the wee hours of the morning! Great for families with so many options of room configurations that you can stay in a different unit each time if needed but still know what to expect. Great location overall and the price is even better for the size and amenities. Highly recommend!

Fantastic location and accomodations

Everything was perfect. The proximity to the beach and ocean was incredible. The accommodations were furnished wonderfully and fit our family of four wonderfully.

We didn’t see easy beach access and had to climb over the sand bags. Not a very wide beach area. We did visit for New Year’s so beach access wasn’t a big issue for us. One area on the steps was not lit very well but manageable. You will hear upstairs guests walking around. Make notice of your bill because if you bring a pet it will not show on your final statement but it will show up on your credit card - verbiage does state that you will not receive a final statement. No elevator. Overall a nice stay and I do recommend.

Unfortunately we have had a stormy winter season that washed away most of our beach and exposed our sandbags. However, we are in the process of getting that remedied. Elevators are very uncommon for all of Hatteras Island, but our staff is always happy to assist guests with their luggage and belongings. Also, a statement can be sent out at any time, if a guest requests one. We hope to see you again during your next OBX vacation!

Lighthouse View People are great and so are the facilities. I AM NOT a fan of getting constant emails regarding our reservations and for reviews. I like hearing from someone and not an automated email. This WILL be taken into consideration as far as continuing to use Lighthouse View for future trips.

Reviewer Comments: I made reservations for Oct 18, 19, & 20 7weeks in advance. when I got there they had double booked and the room we were suppose to be in was not available. They put us in a different room the first night and then another room the second night we did not stay the 3rd night to be moved again. I was very dissappionted I have stayed there many times for fishing and for work. It was inconvenient and aggravating.
