Fantastic location, with some quirks. This unit is on the 14th floor of a high-rise that is right on one of San Juan’s best beaches. The location can’t be beat – most of the hotels in the area are a block or two from the beach, but this complex is just out a gate onto the sand – only the Royal Sonesta next door is equally close. The area is very walkable, with lots of restaurants nearby. It is also very close to the airport, but shielded from airplane noise. That said, the unit has some quirks. Most vexing was that the host wasn’t so good about replying to inquiries, and wouldn’t send the access info until 3 hours before check-in. Apparently the housekeeper forgot to leave any towels in the kitchen or bath – the property manager basically replied ‘yeah, you’re right, sorry,’ with no attempt to correct this. Fortunately we found 4 beach towels, and used them for everything including drying dishes.You need a fob to get in and out of the complex, in and out of the pool, and in and out of the beach gate – and you only get one. So while they advertise that the unit sleeps 8, you are all going to have to do everything together. And you will have to take turns drinking coffee, as there are only 2 cups. Beware that the written instructions you get, including those in the unit, are wrong: the lockbox by the parking spot doesn’t work, and the wifi info is wrong (look instead on the bottom of the router). That said, the wifi was pretty good, and it was nice to have a reserved parking
