Great place to stay. Very close to all the things we wanted to do in the Black Hills yet private and away from the crowds. Highly recommend.

Perfect location if you’re trying to “get away”. It was close to Custer state park and just a little drive (just under 2 hours) to the Badlands-SO WORTH THE DRIVE!! The cabin is clean and cozy with everything you need. Kristen is on top of communication and will make sure your stay is PERFECT!

Just as described - a secluded cabin in a beautiful setting. The craftsmanship in the cabin itself is a work of art and the location was perfect for us. It was a great extended weekend during peak Fall colors season. We had a blast.

This cabin was cozy and a wonder place for some r&r. The pictures and listing in my opinion don’t do it justice. Walking in the cabin felt welcoming and cozy, nice and clean. The host was wonderful and I felt like if I needed something she would be more than accommodating! If you’re looking for a quite peaceful place to stay this is the cabin for you!

This was a wonderful hidden cabin in the woods. We saw turkey and deer everyday on the road into the cabin. It was cozy, had everything we needed for our several day stay. It was located central to all of the best places to visit in the area.

Great cabin in the woods. 15 scenic minutes from town. Had everything we needed. Loved sitting outside on any of the three decks for some dead quiet relaxing. Good central location for all the attractions in the area.

Adorable, comfortable, clean cabin with everything you need. 10 minutes from Hill City if you dont bring a grill and food you still have plenty of options. Very quiet and secluded. The owl in the back yard under a full moon was calling to an owl on another mountain far away and you could hear thier calls echo across . . .

Kristen is so kind and the cabin is so charming, warm, and home-feeling. The location is so peaceful and so close to Custer State Park! My daughter and I loved every second of being there and will absolutely return!

We had such a great time at this cabin! We would highly recommend it if you're looking for a place to stay that's off the beaten path. It was so peaceful and quiet. We also enjoyed the books and puzzles in the cabin. Kristen was very welcoming and responsive. One of the best parts was no check-out instructions. Many places make you take out the trash, wash the dishes, remove the bed linens, etc. But Kristen texted and said to take it easy on our last morning, so we were able to drink our coffee in peace on the huge deck and enjoy our last day in the beautiful surrounding nature.

Overall beautiful property and location. Everything was clean and well maintained. We only had a few minor issues with water pressure intermittently dropping out (even when running just a sink)One recommendation would be add an induction cooktop or something similar. A bit difficult to make meals on just an electric griddle.

The cabin is truly off the grid (it had power and water etc.) but I mean about 2 miles of dirt road off the grid. So if you want to be in a quiet secluded area that was peaceful and full of trees and animals this place is great. We also enjoyed the fact that the host was very artistic which shows in her decor of artwork on the walls and in the remarkable artistic craftsmanship of the cabin. And its was very quiet and peaceful near a very busy bustling area...great base camp to check out the badlands from. I'd stay again.

What and amazing get-away cabin! It is several miles off the main road, quiet location on a hill, with such a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The host was amazing! She was quick to answer questions and make sure we had everything we needed. It was everything we were hoping for! If you are looking for a place that is centrally located, right outside of Hill City, where you can enjoy the area but still enjoy the quiet of the mountain... THIS is your place! It is worth every penny!

If you want peace and quiet and isolation from the world, this is your place. Situated right in the black hills you have access not only to the properties 20 acres, but the entire black hills national forest that adjoins the property. There are no other cabins on the property meaning no neighbors. You likely won’t see another human while there. If you enjoy hiking, this place is for you. There are no trails, just hiking through the wilderness. The cabin itself is small. It’s really meant for no more than two people. With just one king size bed in the loft. There is no AC, but it’s not needed at that altitude, even in July. In fact I used the wood burning stove to warm the cabin in the mornings. Though it does have electric heat. There is no stove or oven, so come prepared with appropriate food. There is a toaster oven and microwave. There is no TV or radio, but there is internet access through starlink. The owner, Kristen, was very responsive and quickly replied to questions. She lives on the property about a quarter mile away which is nice if anything is needed. The only issue I had was in finding the cabin. Be aware that the address listed is for HER house. NOT the cabin. You need to turn left on the cabin driveway by the late bear statue, a couple hundred yards prior to her house. It’s easy to miss. Overall this was a 5 star experience and exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend and would definitely come back.

Was a pleasant place to stay. Is in a nice secluded area. Has internet which is good because did not have cell coverage there. Communication was good with host.
