Beautifully and conveniently located only 225 steps from two community swimming pools and the gorgeous shores of East Beach, True Knot Cottage offers a glimpse of St. Simons Island at its best. This classic-yet-modern home was designed in the style of Charleston's side-porch cottages, providing a wonderful atmosphere full of Southern charm, elegant finishes, and cozy living spaces. You'll be able to walk to the pools, the beach, and the community sundeck each morning, and easily return home for lunch prepared on the gas grill or in the fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Sip cold glasses of sweet tea beneath the ceiling fans on the side porch, spend the afternoon people-watching in rocking chairs on the front patio, and catch unforgettable sunsets on the third-level observation deck.

This home is part of the Coast Cottages at St. Simons Island, which sit just a few steps from two pools, a sundeck, and an oceanfront pavilion on the sandy shores of East Beach. When you're not swimming, building sandcastles, or walking the beach at high or low tide, you'll be an easy bike ride (or an an even quicker drive) from the St. Simons Lighthouse Museum and the many attractions of Neptune Park, both of which are less than two miles southwest. Take out a kayak for the morning, tee off at the Seaside Golf Course less than three miles west, and sample a variety of restaurants that await on Ocean Boulevard.

Great location near the beach. We loved the floorplan of the place and the community pool. There was mold around some air ducts in the living space – we all noticed that we got stuffy noses shortly after arriving. The sheets in the master bedroom were very scratchy. The decorative pillows and comforters in the kids bunk room were stained. The key was very difficult to operate in the lock – he had to jiggle it significantly every time in order to get it to work. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but the experience could have been improved with a few changes.

We recently stayed at this home for our vacation. The location was great—just a short walk to the beach and pool—and the home offered adequate space for our family. It was also well stocked with beach gear and kitchen essentials, which we appreciated.That said, for the price we paid, we expected a much higher level of comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality. The home was outdated in style, and we were instructed not to set the AC below 72, making it uncomfortably warm at night and resulting in poor sleep. The master bedroom had only two flat pillows for the king-size bed, and the sheets were stiff and scratchy. Towels were stained, and many furniture items, bedding, and decorative pillows also had visible stains.All TVs were older models with only basic cable—no streaming or smart TV options—which was disappointing during a few rainy afternoons. The remotes were sticky and taped together. There was a cabinet of games, but most were incomplete and disorganized. No coffee was provided, and the “stocked” toiletries were half-used, old, travel-sized bottles.For the premium price, this rental simply didn’t deliver. Basic expectations—like cleanliness, coffee, usable toiletries, and a comfortable sleeping environment—were not met. While the location was great, we would not return.

My tablestakes for a beach condo: very clean, kitchen appliances function, plateware/glassware plentiful & useful. Love the adequate cleaning supplies/trash bags and bathroom toiletries. Lovely, functional ACMattresses felt good with ceiling fans for air circulation. Wifi worked fine.Felt safe.Kudos for extras: Spacious with functional furniture; awesome kitchen space for hanging out. Covered porch is wonderful with great furniture. There are no stairs to the beach, which is very close and makes for an easy walk. In summary, would re-book.The only reason I don't give 5 stars is the lock situation, which I assume they know about since the directions included with playing with how far you put the key in the lock. We spent so much time trying to lock the house/ unlock the house and clearly they know those locks should be replaced, or re-keyed with a better quality duplicate. Since we encountered leaving and re-entering the house multiple times a day, you can imagine the frustration.Other than the lock, the house is beautiful, location perfect, and inside is wonderful for a beach stay.

Beautiful Coastal Cottage

We stayed there for a long weekend to go to a family members wedding. The house was a perfect fit for my husband, me, and our kids.

True Knot for a second stay

We loved true not four years ago and we still love it this time around. It is the perfect size for our family of five. You cannot beat the proximity to the beach and the wonderful heated pool. The house was very clean and beautiful. It is an idyllic place to stay, and we will come back again!

True Knot Late October 2023

We have stayed in this cottage before. It was very nice but we noticed some "attention to detail" issues since the last time we stayed. Bathroom shower drain slow...carpet had sand spurs still in it which are hard for vacuum to remove. Clothes washing machine would not cycle. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay and the weather was Chamber of Commerce perfect!

Cozy cottage

Great location with our cottage being only a short walk from the beach and pool. The home was easy to access and easy to find. We especially enjoyed the three outdoor seating areas. We had kids of all ages and the spaces were perfect.

Beware of broken glass!

This property is gorgeous and close to the beach. We arrived on the island early and when we pulled into the restaurant where we were eating lunch we were texted that the house was ready. We drove right over and were unloading our luggage when we heard someone open the front door of the home. A very rude woman yelled that we couldn't be in the house. When I informed her we'd been texted that it was ok to check in she argued with me. I showed her the text we had just received. She still acted rude and defensive. She said she wasn't sure the house was ready. I said "well can you verify with whomever texted us?" A member of our party who had to use the restroom after the long drive informed her that the toilet paper had the paper indicating at least that bathroom had been cleaned. The woman was still unfriendly and suspicious with us and we informed her we'd go eat and return so she could check out the house. I should have called the rental company then. When we returned 90 minutes later she wasn't there but a member of our party stepped on broken glass as we readied for the beach. It made a deep gash in her foot. Several towels in her bathroom were filthy and there was sand all over the floor. I reached out to the rental company and was told to send pictures. We did, but instead of getting an apology we got a message on my cell that said the lady was just there dropping off parking passes (which is a lie because they were there when we arrived) and that we wouldn't be receiving any refund. I didn't necessarily want a refund, but maybe an apology for the rude way we were welcomed and for my friend getting hurt.

All the creature comforts and more!

I rented the True Knot Cottage for a recent work trip, and it turned out to be the perfect home away from home. Everything about the home was comfortable and clean, and the community and its amenities (including the beach!) were everything I needed to be productive, inspired, and relaxed. VRBO made the entire experience of finding and reserving the house as easy as it could possibly be.

Perfect Beach Getaway

Wonderful and spacious Charleston style home just steps from the beach. Amazing porches and decks. Nice private beach access and the home had everything we needed for a relaxing and fun getaway.

Great place to stay

The home is beautiful and spacious. It is in a fantastic location. The beach is only a few minutes away by foot with your own private access to the beach and only a couple minutes drive to get “downtown”.

Mixed review on True Knot

Overall it was good . Location and beach abd pool amenities good. Bathrooms are older and had mildew and cheap shower curtain liners . I suggest owner updates bath tub/ showers . Fabrics were also worn and dirty in living room. Next time I would look at this more carefully and rent a newer more updated unit. Also I called and tried to get some answers in advance about checking in and never got any call backs. I had to also hold for 25 min to get anyone.

Best vacation ever

The house reminded me of my beloved Charleston and was so comfortable for our family of 4. My kids loved riding their bikes everywhere, playing in the pool and riding in the golf cart. The weather was perfect. What a blessing the whole trip was! Thank you for a much needed change of pace.
