Not Heaven But Adequate

The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was clean.
I was happy with the location.
I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

Our group was 6 adults and 2 children and we found the cabin to be spacious, had lots of storage and suited our needs. However, the cabin needs a lot of maintenance, the bathrooms and kitchen were adequately clean but the carpet was dirty, dresser drawers broken, floor tile chipping, the finish on the tables was always sticky because it is breaking down. The hot tub only ran for 10 minutes a session, not really sure if it ever turned back on since it was used once. The floors are paper thin and creak horribly, we could hear everyone on all 3 floors. The ice maker made a bad noise the whole week and we had to hand sharpen all the knives and get them to bring us a can opener that worked. The deck has not been cleaned in so long it had lichen growing all over it. That being said, the Customer Service was excellent, we called 6 times in the first 3 days because we did not have 8 rocking chairs, dryer knob was broken, smoke detecters were chirping, and bears distroyed our trashcan twice...each and every time the resort responded immediately and resolved every issue they could very politely. All this being said, we had a great family vacation. You may need to lower your expectations when renting a rustic cabin like this. As far as the view goes, there was none from the main floor porch where the kitchen/outside grill and master bedroom was. The view was best from the 3rd floor sitting room upstairs but no deck there to enjoy it. The main floor master bath had a huge heart tub which our grandkids enjoyed but it had a shower next to it that was so small that I hit my head on the wall bending over to pick up the soap and I'm 5'4". Imagine how thrilled my 6'4" husband was with this arrangement. The 3rd floor tub/shower was the best and had a great mountain view from the shower window. The lower floor shower was just as small. The theatre room and air hockey table was nice and the kids enjoyed it. It was very private, so if you group is noisy, no one would hear you.
