We really like Monterey Dunes Colony location and each condo has been great. Kitchen well outfitted for cooking a decks relaxing and views of the ocean are wonderful.

Great location on the beach near Monterrey. Very well stocked in the kitchen, plus lots of towels and blankets. The view out the window at sunset is fabulous.

Fantastic location on a remote beach, with beach access just steps away. It's a big condo with two big king bedrooms. The third smaller bedroom is off the kitchen and a little noisy. It needs a screen door on the sliding glass door to get ventilation. The living and dining rooms are also big and the kitchen is a good size too.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this home mainly due to the access to the beach and the view. The location is nice with easy access to both Monterey and Santa Cruz. In general you can tell the home was once well loved but now is needing a some TLC. A few items of note - the screens on the sliding doors are either torn or missing entirely, the home needs a thorough deep cleaning including stains on furniture and walls, the window in the hall bath isn’t functioning and is stuck partially open at the top and numerous small items like towel racks etc are loose or coming off walls. With a little TLC it could be lovely again.

We’ve already notified the HOA about the missing screens and jammed window, scheduled a deep cleaning, and arranged for a handyman to touch up the walls and take care of the loose hardware. We’re grateful you brought these issues to our attention and are committed to making the space more comfortable for future guests. We hope you’ll consider giving us another opportunity to welcome you back and enjoy this beautiful beachfront location.

Loved our stay at Monterey Dunes! My family and I travel to Monterey and rent at Monterey Dunes once a year and have tried many home set ups. I found this unit to be a very comfortable stay but my husband disliked the front bedroom set up and limited paper supplies. Pros: - Location and distance from the water - One story home - Very clean and comfortable - Price - Kitchen supplied well with cups, plates, utensils and cooking supplies Cons: (not necessarily a con but just info.) - limited supplies, i.e. toilet paper, paper, towels, dishwashing soap, and laundry soap. - 1 entrance available to the beach from the home located from bedroom slider only, which means you would have to walk through someone’s bedroom to go out the back door to the beach because they have the living room slider door entrance blocked by a couch. - Front bedroom does not have a closet but it does have small side table drawers. - TV set up if you’re not tech savvy can be a bit confusing 4 remote controls. 1 for DIRECTV, 1 for the TV, 1 for the sound bar and 1 for a Roku device but I did appreciate the Roku device since I could sign into my own accounts and sign back out before my leave. Once again, these are not necessarily cons, but just a FYI for future guest. I enjoyed my stay and would choose this unit to stay again. Also, as a side note all the other rentals in this community have offered some type of K cups or loose coffee but this unit did not so make sure to bring your own. If you need any supplies or like to order groceries and pick them up prior to your visit like I do, there’s a Target and other stores conveniently located in the town of Marina, 10 minutes away.
