Walk out onto the deck to take in a bluff-top view of vast Lake Michigan, then descend the stairs to get your toes in the sand of the plush private beach. The views permeate the home's interior through its many windows. Catch glimpses of lush greenery in every room, and walk into the living area for a stunning panoramic view of the lake. What's nearby: You could easily enjoy a fun-filled day right at home, swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing on the expansive deck. But if you're feeling adventurous, Saugatuck Dunes State Park (three miles south) and downtown Saugatuck (six miles south) are both short drives away. Our stay was great with just a few things to keep in mind if you book here. It isn’t exactly family friendly for younger families, it was hard to have our young toddlers outside since it’s mostly patio and walk down stairs to the beach. The fridge was also not working and we had to walk to the basement to access a fridge for our stay which was a bit difficult with young children. This was brought to our attention right before we arrived, and no accommodation was made (other than to use the basement fridge which also had a leak). Some of the stove burners didn’t work but we were able to manage that. I would just check with the host if you book and make sure that everything is working properly. Otherwise it was a beautiful, peaceful location! Large and lots of space, would recommend for a larger family with older children.

The location and private beach access were excellent, but the condition of the home did not match the expectations set by the listing or the overall cost of the stay. At this price point, guests should expect a well‑maintained, updated, and accurately represented property. That was not our experience.The furnishings, carpet, and paint throughout the home are worn and dated. The listing advertises an “arcade/game room,” but the actual space is an unfinished basement with exposed framing, concrete walls, dirt, clutter, and a single ping pong table. One bedroom and the bathroom connected to the primary bedroom had no window coverings, including the water‑closet area, which offered no privacy and allowed full light into the room.The upstairs bathroom had a damaged control valve and a leaking showerhead that sprayed water from the fixture, resulting in noticeably reduced water pressure. Caulking and trim around the fixtures were cracked or missing.Outside, the patio furniture was dirty and needed pressure washing. The bin at the bottom of the beach staircase was filled with broken beach toys and debris. We also found litter left on the deck overlooking the water.The location is outstanding, but the home itself needs meaningful updates, repairs, and attention Communication with the rental company was solid through the stay but my follow-up, at their request before posting this, has been non-existent. Overall, the rental fell well short of my expectations at this price.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review.The issues you noted with the upstairs bathroom valve and shower head, along with the cracked caulking and trim, have been passed to our maintenance team to inspect and address, and the notes about the patio furniture, the debris in the beach bin, and the litter on the deck have gone to our housekeeping team as well. The guest reached out during their stay and raised the issue of the blinds. We have replaced the missing blind in the bedroom. There are no privacy issues to be addressed in the attached bathroom since the area is very remote and there are no other homes in this area however we appreciate the feedback and will raise the concern with the owners. We're glad the location and private beach access stood out, since that setting really is something special. We take this feedback seriously and are reviewing it carefully so the home reflects the standard we hold. The VueStay Team
