Appartement Schorn - Holzwerk Oybin

In the beginning, everything was different! Schorn was our first apartment at the Oybin Woodworking Plant. Everyone told us we were crazy to rent it out like that! Guests could only reach the attic via a chicken ladder. And they actually came back—not to use the chicken ladder again, but as one guest once put it: “I walked into the apartment, closed the door, and was instantly transported to this other world!” Nothing else mattered. We always keep that in mind when we start a new project. But why did it work? Communication and authenticity were the key—no embellished photos, no fakes! That opened many doors for us, and many of our first guests have become regulars. Thank you for that!

Our vacation complex is located directly next to the narrow-gauge railway and Mount Oybin, featuring a 1-hectare garden and situated 400 meters from the Oybin terminus station. In our Holzwerk Oybin, we have furnished 6 unique, country-style apartments. The Römerlager, Königszimmer, Himmelreich, Storchennest, and Schorn apartments are accessible via a staircase. The building itself is 250 years old and was once a board mill, hence the name Holzwerk. We have renovated the building in a sustainable and eco-friendly manner. The “Römerlager,” “Königszimmer,” “Himmelreich,” “Schorn,” and “Storchennest” apartments each feature a fireplace and modern bathrooms. Two apartments (“Storchennest” and “Himmelreich”) have a hot tub available for guests to use. The garden is always available for our guests to relax, play, have a barbecue, and more. For guests of all ages, there’s a trampoline, a badminton net, and a sandy sunbathing area. Breakfast and dinner can only be booked on-site at



. On-site costs: The “Storchennest” and “Himmelreich” rooms each feature a whirlpool. Towels and bed linens are included in the price. Children up to 4 years old stay for free. Parking and Wi-Fi are free of charge.



Check-in is from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM, and check-out is from 8:15 AM to 11:00 AM.
