We are aware that Google Maps can lead you astray on the last portion if you were using that particular method of navigation. Really appreciate you telling us and we will try to address it in the directions for the future making it very plain that Google Maps isn’t to be trusted for the last one to 2 km and to follow the written directions closely. My Goodness Robert, What can I say? You have made my day Diana’s day and when Victoria gets to read it, her day too. We are overjoyed when people appreciate sharing our home and feel so happy there. We took a villa that was, frankly, an uninhabitable shell back in 2018 with no garden to speak of (12 big dogs there and no irrigation system – imagine!) and bit-by-bit we have renovated and improved it until it’s what you have just experienced. But It’s still, and always will be, a work in progress. That seems to be a feature of Andalusian villas, there’s always something to tweak. Basically, one of the many factors that made us buy it in the first place was the almost complete lack of traffic noise – a background that’s there even if you walk to the end of our road, but not at our end for some reason. Something to do with the valley, I think. The privacy of the garden is special too as you have noticed. When you come back – and we very much hope you do become one of our many returners (some into their 4th and 5th stays) – you will notice further little refinements here and there and one day maybe even a lift. But it will always have the same character – even if we change the name from ‘Golden Springs’ to ‘Secret Garden’ as we are considering doing. Dear Lara (& family), Having guests like you is what it's all about for us. It's really not only about the money, it's about sharing too. Nothing can ever be perfect, but we do our very best and a review like the one you have just written makes our entire week - it really does :-) We're going there for two week ourselves next week (Yay!) and will be constantly looking for things that can be tweaked.
