We had a great time at our stay in Winter Harbor. The ocean side view and mornings seeing porpoises and seals swimming in the ocean was a real treat. Beds were really comfortable. Had we been there at a warmer time of year, the outbuilding would have been nice to enjoy coffee or reading in.Minor suggestions for host are perhaps updating some things like coffee maker, having a vacuum available, and putting something, such as a decorative table, over the fireplace unit to avoid a trip hazard.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in late September and it was the perfect spot. The view was stunning, quiet coastline with easy access to Acadia's Schoodic section, without the crowds you get on the main part of the island. The house itself was spotless when we arrived, clearly well cared for by the host. Comfortable beds and a great porch for morning coffee looking out at the water. Winter Harbor itself is a low-key little town, exactly what we wanted after a wedding weekend. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful coastal getaway in Maine.

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful home for a short getaway. We found it to be very private but not so isolated that your everyday needs and desire for good food couldn't be acquired within 10-15 minutes. The host was very accommodating and kind as we arrived with the Nor'easter and we were not sure what to expect or what problems we could encounter. She provided us with options of "just in case" which was a wonderful relief since we were coming from far away. This was the perfect spot to unwind, slow down and take in the beauty of Maine in the Fall. Thanks for a beautiful experience.

Our stay at Christine’s place made me fall in love all over again with the Schoodic peninsula. The location was perfect and my kids LOVED playing on the rocks at the waters edge. We saw bald eagles, seals, and even two dolphins (or minke whales??) during our stay! Listening to the waves at night was so calming. We could not get enough of this property and will for sure be back!

The view alone is reason enough to book this property. If you're looking for your very own quiet, piece of Downeast coast - this is it. Communication with the host, check in, booking and check out were all fantastic. Two things I didn't consider when booking this property was the age of it, and everything that comes along with that - the scents, the draftiness, the cosmetic concerns of old age. Also the drive to the property consists of over a mile of dirt road where a large portion of that is rutted out - select sedans might find this road impassible. Two super additions would be a working fire place and a fire ring outside to better enjoy the cool evenings.

We are glad you enjoyed the peaceful, quiet setting and waterfront location. We would like to clarify a few details for future guests. The road leading to the property is approximately 1/4 mile long and is a typical Maine dirt road. While road conditions can vary throughout the season, we have welcomed hundreds of guests in a wide variety of vehicles over the years without concerns about accessibility. We also wanted to note that all of the home's windows and doors were replaced several years ago and are regularly maintained as part of our ongoing care of the property. Cleanliness is extremely important to us, and we take great pride in maintaining our homes to a high standard. We are sorry to hear that certain aspects of the property did not meet your expectations. As for the scents you mentioned, the home sits just steps from the ocean, and many guests enjoy the fresh coastal air and natural seaside environment that are part of the experience of staying there. Thank you for your comments. Guest feedback helps us continue to improve and provide the best possible experience for future visitors.

We had a wonderful stay! The home was clean, well-stocked with essentials, and had everything we needed for a comfortable week. The property itself was beautiful and made for the perfect home base while exploring Acadia. Saw all kinds of wildlife from the coastline, including being created by a seal about 20 yards off shore when we arrived! Our host was fantastic—friendly, responsive, and quick to answer any questions we had. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

The views from the house exceeded my expectations! Listening to the ocean waves every day was the highlight of our trip. The house had everything we needed for our week-long stay. I loved this area. Small town area with a working harbor. Not far from Bar Harbor if your looking for a more of an up beat area. The views frome this property are amazing. This is the vacation I was looking for. I will be planning a return visit in the future.

We had a wonderful stay! The home is perfectly tucked along the coastline with breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. One of our favorite parts of each day was sitting on the rocks, listening to the waves, and watching the sea. It was incredibly relaxing and the perfect way to unwind.The property is ideally located near amazing hiking trails and water adventures, making it easy to explore the beauty of the area. We experienced a minor issue during our stay, but it was addressed immediately by Heath, the maintenance manager. His quick response and attention made us feel completely cared for.If you’re looking for a beautiful coastal retreat with stunning scenery, outdoor activities, and excellent service, this is the place.

Cute house with all we needed. Comfortable beds and couches. Well equipped kitchen. (5c coffee makers, salt, pepper, some spices & oil, dish soap, laundry soap, coffee filters, large clean soft cooler, bath soaps, shampoos & extra bath towels were appreciated!) WH grocery is a decent small town grocery w the basics if you forgot anything in Ellsworth.Very clean, GREAT location for exploring Acadia area, private, quiet, GORGEOUS views, plenty of rocks to explore & spread out & enjoy the water. It’s like having your own private Acadia oceanfront! Excellent commutation w owner.Bring an eye mask if you aren’t accustomed to the long daylight summer hours. Internet access performed just fine for us. Recommend Musquito Harbor Brewery & Restaurant (friendly ppl, buttery lobster roll) and Sea Schoodic Bike and Kayak. Biking the loop around the Schoodic peninsula (beautiful) and kayaking (& swimming) Jones Pond were great fun!Would love to see more outdoor furniture (chairs and chaises) for the patio, decks and rocks ( if that’s possible).

Nature's perfect getaway

The property is beautiful and the scenery is breathtaking. We saw so much wildlife like otters, seals, porpoises. It's a secluded spot but easy travel to things to do.

This was our second time at Christine's house and I can't say enough good things about it. Beautiful house in a stunning location. Granite ledges and tide pools out front, all levels of hiking nearby, and sunsets and stars at night make for our family's perfect vacation. We can't wait to come back!

We loved the house, very comfortable, nicely decorated & unusual architecture. The location is spectacular! Right on the rocky shore of Frenchman Bay, 5 minutes out of the village of Winter Harbor (we highly recommend the Treehouse restaurant in WH), 10 minutes from Schoodic Point. Bar Harbor is a 45 minute ferry ride away across the bay.

Amazing view, very cozy! Make sure to follow the written instructions from the owner and not GPS directions. Lots to do and see in the surrounding area and such great food! The scenery is beautiful. Watching the sun set from the deck was a perfect ending to every evening.
