Excellent stay at a beautiful oceanfront property. The location and views were fantastic, the property was clean and comfortable, and everything was exactly as expected. We had no issues during our stay and would happily return!

This house, Casalona, was the perfect beach getaway house. The kids found it so easy to navigate around the house and to the beach.Enough privacy for three adult couples and a pair of kids and two dogs.Games for adults and kids were there. As were boogie boards and shovels and beach toys for the kids.I love this place and will go back next year.

a super comfy home - seriously best location on the beach - the walk out deck was lovely and we were able to step right onto the beach. The mattresses were all comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped. super nice and would rent again!

Great location, but for what you pay, the house needs major upgrades. The biggest thing is the king bed and the bed next to it. They were so terribly old and uncomfortable that I had to go purchase mattress toppers which hardly helped. These mattresses have to be from the 90’s. My wife suffered with horrible back pain all week. Toilets were difficult to flush and extremely small. The check in process wasn’t easy, and Seacoast Vacation Rentals wasn’t easy to work with. Response times were very slow. For 5,300 for one week in the off-season, you just expect better. Really the only thing we loved was the location.

As far as the communication, looking back through our inbox we were responsive in a timely manner except when you ask to check in early. Our office was closed on Sunday and we provide you with our emergency phone number to contact in all of our prior email and text messages. The property was just as pictured. It was clean and comfortable. After getting the "OK" from the owners, we were able to bring 3 dogs. I also brought my vacuum to keep up with the fur even though we paid a pet fee. Many things that we were told to bring were actually stocked, maybe by past visitors. We didn't use the bunk bed room and one of the queen beds was not as comfortable as the other. The toilets are shorter than I am used to and were hard on my bad knees, but that's my issue I guess. A hand rail might have been nice though. Though we had no problems, I worried that I was unable to lock the gate in the parking area after we came through the gate for the night. It was only lockable on the outside. The fans were great in all the rooms. Nice and quiet. This was our annual Mom and Sons (and dogs) beach trip and my sons liked this place best of all the places that we've stayed in past years; all on one floor, plenty to do in the area, easy access to the beach, well equiped kitchen and comfortable furniture. Thanks for allowing us to borrow your place.

Family vaca

We had great week. The location was perfect. It has a nice porch and easy walk down the path to the beach. It is an older home, but suited our family well.

Great location!

Close enough to walk to restaurants and the boardwalk. Beach was not crowded since no large condos or hotels that have easy access to the beach in front of our house. Cozy home.

Perfect location!!!

Having our own private beach access was superb. The house was located close enough to walk to most places. While it could use some minor updating the layout, deck, and parking were perfect. I would rent this place again.

Classic Carolina Beach House

Perfect location with a small 3 minute drive into town. Private boardwalk directly to the beach. We loved the rocking chairs lining the porch. Spacious enough for me, 5 teenagers and a medium sized dog. One of the only beach houses that we have rented that still had plenty of hot water for the 6th person showering! Just a cute vintage beachfront house.

The house was not very clean, there was still sand in one of the showers which leads me to believe it wasn’t even touched by the cleaners. The rest of the house was also not cleaned well. The deck has boards that are sticking up which was a tripping hazard and also splinter hazard. The walkway to the beach is overgrown with plants. There was no where to store groceries, a pantry or even small bookshelf would have been nice as most of the table and counter space had to be used. The location is great and I have no complaints about the proximity to the boardwalk and restaurants. I think this house has a lot of potential. Overall, we enjoyed our vacation.

Disappointed. but friendly people resolved my issues

The property is in need of major repair in the kitchen area the back wall is beginning to rot.. The painting is in need of detailing, the furniture is in need of replacement, the refrigerator is rusting, the bottom of the kitchen cabinets needs cleaning and cabinet paper put down. With the kind of money that is being asked for to stay a week, you would expect more.

Great Location, Older Property

This was such a great little house. Roomy living space, open kitchen, the rooms were good size. Easy 20min walk to the boardwalk. The property could have been cleaned better. Very dusty - the blinds, fans, even walls were covered with dust. Many of the air vents had mold growing in and around them. The mattresses are pretty old and uncomfortable. And the bunk beds only one had a real mattress. The others just had pieces of foam as a mattress. Which was fine for my 3 year old but if you weigh more than 30 pounds, it might be a problem. But overall, my family and I had a great time at the beach!!!

Adequate no frills beach house

The house itself was more spacious than it looked in the listing. The location was great as we could see the fireworks from the deck and the beach. It's nestled in the middle of a row of houses so not many people from the condos want to walk that far down. It is close to a few ice cream shops and restaurants though which was nice. The house itself was slightly challenging as the only entrance is off the back deck. In desperate need of some newer beds and couches. We did purchase a hose and a clothesline which came in handy would have been nice to have already been there. The way the rooms are arranged made it hard to use the dressers because you couldn't pull out the drawers with the bed or a chair too close. There is lots of parking but the greenery on either side of the house needs trimmed as it sticks out quite a bit and could scratch your car.

Casalona is one of our favorite "earthy" rentals. It allows for a great beach outdoor experience. The private beach access is the best. Clean up and upgrades are always happening, we will mention to the owner. Thank you.

lack of maintenance

Location perfect, view perfect, but I requested a tree be trimmed hit my new car everytime I entered and exited the parking area, I was told it would be done but never was path to beach not maintained truly a tripping hazard This house has great bones but was not as clean as it should be ceiling fans were nasty baseboards not wiped down and under the beds were not clean....overall maintenance of this little house is lacking and it is a shame because it is a great house that needs TLC neighboring homes are getting more maintenance it is very evident by just comparing the outside of each property oh and a rat was seen on the deck, and it is due to overgrown landscaping parking area didn't look it has been swept in a long time....

It had a beautiful view, but there were many shortcomings that frustrated us due to the cost of the unit. There was no ice maker for simple things like drinks. there were 4 ice cube trays, which was a joke. Additionally, there was no filtered water in the fridge door. There was a Brita-like pitcher provided for the refrigerator, but again, for the cost, amenities like this should be provided. There was virtually no place to put our groceries leading to crowded counter and table surfaces. The electrical system in the home needs to be upgraded. We could not use the microwave and the toaster oven at the same time without blowing a fuse. We had to reset kitchen and bathroom fuses in the outdoor shed (on the ground level) almost daily. The washer and dryer were also in the shed on the ground floor, which should have been disclosed. Additionally, there was no laundry basket provided to carry clothes up and down the stairs. I used a garbage bag, simply because it was clean. There was an unsafe slope in the decking toward the beach. We had someone healing from surgery in our group, and this should have been disclosed. Finally, there should be a battery operated stick vacuum or dust buster for cleaning up sand daily. The amount of time I spent sweeping and dragging out the large vacuum to suck up the large amount of sand was ridiculous. It's a simple thing that would make a HUGE difference. If view is your top priority, you may not mind what bothered us.

Love the place and location! The only issue was trying to keep it cool. Especially the first day/night. The main living area gets really warm during the day. But there was a heat wave so we know it can be tough. The place is great though. Will love to stay aagain!

The best thing about Casalona is the location. A well-maintained walkway directly to the beach with amazing sunrises in the morning. Walking distance to downtown CB and restaurants. I never used a rental company through VRBO before, but the experience was great. Great communication and a seamless process to check-in and check-out. The property can really use some updating inside and out, some things are dated and worn. It would not take much to fix it up, but good experience all around.

Post Labor Day getaway

Place was great. Only problem was when at 1 am a young man pounded on the door asking to be let in, that this was his rental. I sent him away by calling 911 and he never came back - although he did break the gate and leave his shoes there :)

Memorial Day Getaway

It's a nice property, great location on the beach and within a short bike ride to the board walk. Ideal if you have a family and want to let them ride up to the arcade without having to worry about crossing a busy road.
