Beautiful home in design and quality construction. Awesome location above the river in a quiet neighborhood. The home was well supplied with everything one might need. There were no delays with communications with the host. A great experience. A destination of its own !

Winter Wonderland

Our group of friends enjoyed a wonderful weekend in this lovely home. We relaxed, talked and cooked all while enjoying the gorgeous view of deep snow by the river.

Beautiful view

Beautiful view and the kitchen had anything you needed. My family enjoyed McCall the biggest complaint was the beds were a bit firm for us and we didn’t get the best rest.

Fabulous house that was very comfortable for our family and fully stocked. I like to cook and the kitchen had every utensil we needed. Great location in a quiet neighborhood--perfect for stroller walks with our grandson. We spent a lot of time on the large back porch watching the river and wildlife. Highly recommend and would definitely book again. Host was responsive and accommodating.

Home away from home!

This is our second time staying at this pristine property. The views are spectacular and it is the cleanest, most well kept home we have ever rented on VRBO. It had all the amenities of home. We had a wonderful stay and we will be back! Thank you so much!

Extremely well-stocked cabin in a quiet neighborhood close to everything. Plenty of room and a great deck overlooking the river. We saw osprey hunt, deer and fawns, and a bear across the river. We have stayed in various rental properties in McCall every summer for 30 years, and this is one of the top cabins our family has stayed in. Highly recommend. Hosts are very responsive and have thought of many extras to include to make your stay great.

Relaxing River Retreat

This was an amazing home! Large windows with a beautiful view of the Payette River. Tastefully decorated with a wide array of amenities. This home met all our needs and then some. The photos don’t begin to show wonderful this property is. We had a fabulous time!

Very open and inviting floor plan. Charming property. Beautiful deck and outstanding kitchen. Quiet yet very close to anything you might need in McCall. From booking till after checkout….Ken was very informative and accommodating. Will undoubtedly return….

A Gem of a Property with a Gorgeous View of the River!

We absolutely LOVED our stay. The home was well-appointed with great attention to detail. From the custom floor tiles to the thoughtful decor, and everything you might need for a home away from home, and just a short drive from downtown. The kitchen was very well stocked. In fact, we had fun trying to find items they didn't have, but nope, they had EVERYTHING! Coffee, cocktails and dinners on the deck were sublime. We were also treated to an epic thunderstorm while we cozied up on the covered deck. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful River property

We loved the area , house, community. We all fit comfortably in the property and enjoyed dinners on the deck- the only issue- it was hot the days we rented ( in the 90s) and we were all uncomfortable. Watch the weather - it can be Hot in July.

We've been thinking we should get air-conditioning installed - it just keeps getting hotter - so while you were there, I watched the weather and knew you were probably thinking the same thing. Sorry we didn't do it sooner, but it will be in by fall.

Mini McCall Vacation

Our family of 6 adults ages 25 to 62 thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is even more beautiful than the photos. The best part was the private view of the river from the main rooms of the house. We didn’t mind the one rainy/snowy day because staying in was so cozy and relaxing. The kitchen was the most well equipped of any VRBO we have ever stayed in. Even the knives were sharp!

Everything was fantastic! Everything has been considered. There are wonderful, clear instructions for everything. We loved sitting on the deck every day and having coffee looking at the river and listening to the birds. It's close to town, but not too close. In a really nice neighborhood. Even better in person! It's very evident that this is someone's warm and well designed home. I'd give it 10 starts if I could. So grateful! I'd book again and again!

McCall - Thanksgiving

The house - exquisite with a great deck overlooking the river. The view - spectacular. The interior - artistic, welcoming, very clean, incredible tile and wood work, wonderful heated floor in the master bathroom. The accommodations - spacious, comfortable beds and furniture, lots of bath and kitchen towels, very well stocked kitchen and pantry. The hosts - engaged and responsive. This is a terrific property. If you stay, notice the small things, like the brass inserts between the tiles - created by the owners, the binoculars for viewing wildlife (we see regularly saw deer, often crossing the river), swivel chairs for enjoying the incredible outside view or chatting with someone inside. We unreservedly recommend this vacation home.

Beautiful home

We have been coming to McCall for 15 years and this is the nicest place we have stayed. It was very clean, excellent choice of cookware. Even a ceramic dutch over which my husbands loves to cook his sourdough bread in. The Basement room was perfect for my daugher and her 2 little ones to be away from the noise during nap time. The only thing that would have made it better is an easier way to get down to the river. We tried twice but the kids couldn't make it. I know its a structural thing and can't be helped. Other than that it made our stay there memorable once again!

Thanks, Kalyn, so happy you liked our home. I know what you mean about the river hill - it's steep below our house so we walk down the neighbor's gentler slope. I don't know why he hasn't built us a staircase yet! We keep hinting... He did attempt to carve out a zigzag path years ago down his slope but it's eroded a bit. I think he's waiting for his grandkids to get big and strong enough to dig it for him. Thanks again for staying.

Wonderful McCall Vacation Property!

This home has it all! Great location, beautiful view, and fully equipped. We are a large family with several generations and had to rent two properties this year to accommodate our growing family. We rented a lakefront property in addition to this property and there was no comparison in relation to quality! Though the lakefront property boasted a beautiful view, our river view was just as beautiful, if not more so because of the amazingly tranquil nature surrounding this home. Plus this home’s kitchen is the first home we have encountered in 30 + years of Renting McCall properties that even came close to providing the basic cooking utensils and provisions you would need to prepare basic meals. We were extremely impressed with this basic feature, because this home goes far beyond basic and provides more than you need. It is so well appointed I can not imagine what else you would need🙂 we would highly recommend this beautiful home and hope to visit again in the near future!

We are SO happy you enjoyed our home! We love to cook, and we tried to duplicate our primary home kitchen so we'd have every tool needed. Thanks for noticing that. And after renting houses ourselves where there wasn't even a salt shaker, we wanted to make life easier for our guests with spices and oil and vinegar and as many pantry basics as possible. Family Stay for Wedding

This was our first VRBO experience and we could NOT have made a better choice! After initially booking with a different property, we discovered that the pictures vs descriptions were vastly different and reviews from previous guests supported our discovery. :( After cancelling that VRBO and then pivoting to our booking with Ken and Valerie's property- we knew we made the best decision right from our very first communications with them. They made themselves available for every question this nervous bride-to-be had, and went above and beyond to make sure we had all the information we needed. From the first step in the door, my family and friends from Ohio (some of which had never been to Idaho) were literally awestruck with not only the detailed beauty of the home, but the porch that overlooks the gorgeous Payette River. We enjoyed the space so much that we cancelled all of our week's dinner reservations in McCall and cooked homemade meals in the gourmet kitchen. As a biologist that works with birds we spend almost every waking moment on the porch birding, and loved the surprise visits of deer crossing the river in the morning mist with their fawns, and 3 handsome young bucks that would graze in the bushes on the rivers edge. We were over the moon to know that we could provide an unforgettable experience for our friends and family that will be talked about for years to come. Thank you Ken and Valerie! ~Heather and Adam
