It was really nice meeting you and your family. I appreciate your patience regarding the firewood. We have a lot of newly cut wood that still needs to be split and seasoned. So I’m sure it seemed strange when I said that wood needed to be brought in. Lol. It was no problem for me to get done for you. We really appreciate how nice the apartment was after your stay. I’m so glad you stayed with us and hope y’all return soon.

Regarding your experience with our management style, we aim to strike a balance between ensuring our guests have everything they need and providing them with privacy and autonomy. We encourage guests to reach out during their stay so we can address concerns promptly. Unfortunately, we were not notified of any concerns. Since our only interaction was a quick welcome visit, I must assume your micromanagement statement relates to the clearly stated A/C policy. As per our online listing and the on-site welcome guide, we do clearly state our guidelines for air conditioning, particularly noting that there is only 1 A/C unit for the entire house. So, the upstairs temperature is set at 75-77 degrees which generally creates a temperature in the 60s in the walkout basement. This setting is based on the preference of many guests, though we understand and respect that individual comfort levels can vary. Therefore, we also provide 3 fans, one in each room. And for those that prefer, there are blankets to snuggle up in as well.

Thank you for mentioning how clean it was. We take pride in providing a nice, fresh, clean place for our guests to unwind, enjoy the view and play on/in the lake. This has been a very busy season with new guests checking in every 2-3 days, and we do a thorough, detailed cleaning which includes the linens and towels. We do not use a lot of scents for cleaning or laundry because we understand that some people are more sensitive than others. However, occasionally, we will use a little bit of natural freshener as needed in between guests, which can be aired out pretty quickly. This is our home, we do look out the windows and enjoy the beautiful view as anyone would. In this case, it was a good thing as we were able to save an unattended toddler from injury at the fire pit. We do control the central A/C (as stated in the listing) to provide a reasonable temperature for the entire house.

Judy, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. This is a nice lake for summer fun. Unfortunately, the regularly scheduled spraying (we can’t control) was running late so some lily pads affected your experience. We have taken steps to help with that should this occur again. We do a thorough clean for each stay. Pet dander is very difficult to eliminate which can affect those with allergies. Even with that, I’m glad you found the space clean and comfortable.
