Traveled from the states. Have never been to Canada and throughly enjoyed our stay with our family. Will definitely return to this property in the further. Hosts were excellent with plenty of insightful information about surrounding areas.

Lovely Cottage

We had a great time at this cottage decorated in a rustic theme that we loved. The lake was right across the road with an easy access to a nice little beach. The hosts Mark and Lisa were so nice and responded right away if we had any concerns.

The Lake was beautiful, however the first 10 ft in were heavy drabb which made swimming not attractive at this time. We did have great weather and walked a lot.Leaves were coming down every were and made for a real fall feeling. We would certainly return !

Great little cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! The hosts were so friendly, accommodating and super responsive. Our kids loved the little island off the beach which is just across the street from the home. There is also a public beach about 5 minutes down the shore that was perfect for swimming and hanging out on the sand. The cottage was clean and had all the basics. Large back yard as well which was perfect for wiffle ball! You won’t be disappointed if you book a stay here!

Wonderful Beach Stay

We were in the area for a family reunion and the Little Blue House was exactly what our family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids under 12) needed to rest and recharge between events. The house was comfortable, homey, and well stocked. Access to the private beach across the road (shared with the hosts and guests of their other rental) was a highlight for us. It was a great spot for fishing. The water didn’t get deep for a ways out and we went swimming most days. Mark and Lisa were great hosts - friendly, approachable, and available via VRBO messaging, phone, or finding them next door. We’ll be looking for availability to stay here again the next time we’re in the area.

This place is wonderful! So quiet and peaceful and the perfect place to unwind with just us girls. There’s a private beach with the best views. I was lucky enough to get the front bedroom which I feel has the best view of the lake. Everything needed was supplied. The house is rustic, cozy, clean and wonderfully decorated! We had a great time checking out the different decorative antiques throughout the home. We have been to many homes and properties for our biannual girls weekend and this property is one of our top favourites. We will be back!

This was a lovely spot & cottage!The road & area was quieter than expected. Great for walks. The porch was much used, for quiet morning coffee, looking at the beautiful view, while enjoying the birds singing & each evening . There was attention to detail throughout all, in the rustic decor, well stocked kitchen,( with everything one might need & more)A chest stocked with games. A large backyard & a fire pit- a big hit!!There was a binder with clear,detailed instructions with everything you might need to know.The hosts were excellent & quick to answer any questions,or help if any other needsI loved my stay here! The only disappointment at all, was the greenish, mossy? buildup all along the shores, that hindered some beach time & swimming( I'm told it can happen in the hotter weather, especially on L Erie). But we did get a swim in the Lake & enjoyed that a lot.I also went to Turkey Point PP, beach one day, (1st visit) as not far. Its a great beach & area too!It was a great time . Thanks to David & Lisa, for making it an extra enjoyable getaway! Many thanks, againJayne B

Love returning to the Blue Barn

Once again Mark and Lisa are wonderful hosts! Our family loves returning to the Blue Barn. Going to miss afternoon coffee on the front porch watching the lake and birds. Mornings at the little private beach hunting for beach glass. Sunsets by the fire watching the stars come out and satellites shoot across the sky. We love renting the little bunkie as well so that family has an extra room to stay in! Looking forward to coming back.

Lake Erie gem

Very charming decor, very comfortable. Lots of outdoor spaces with chairs, tables. Highly recommend.

Family vacation

Love it here, close to our home in Niagara…away from crowds and has the farming charm of Haldamd/ Selkirk county. This is our second family vacation to this property… we love this place ❤️ Mark and Lisa are wonderful hosts. Clean, quiet, beautiful from morning to night even when the lake is rough… the yard offers plenty to do if you enjoy activities outside (biking, hiking, finding lake glass and fossils on the beach ❤️) . I look forward to many more trips here in the future 😃

Rest and relaxation

My husband and I needed to destress in this stressful time (covid). We both worked through this whole thing and wanted to just unwind. We took long walks listened to music and played various games. Our son and grandson came for the last 2 days and had a great time as well. Angie & Matt Whalen
