Lake Anna Two Story Dock and Private Beach with Five Bedrooms

The main level the kitchen has every essential with two large refrigerators with freezers and and a ice maker. Kitchen and dining area over look the lake and the living room on the main level has large couch with a smart tv and a vented electric fireplace. The laundry room is on the main level and is large and has a quick wash and quick dry. Main level master bedroom is a king with full bathroom and a smart tv in the room. The other room has a queen and full bathroom in the hallway.

The loft is above the main level and has some books and toys and two single beds and one bunk set. Lower level has a large entertainment room and one room is a queen bedroom and the other has oversized bunks and two sets of bunks and a large full bathroom the lower level and is a very roomy entertainment room with lots of seating and a pub table and smart tv and fuzzball and walks out to the lake.

There is a hot and cold water dispenser, gas stove, Keurig and regular coffee maker, blender, mixer, microwave, popcorn machine, spice drawer, toaster, every pot and pan and utensil, Large Weber grill on the deck and extra propane under the deck stairs.

Fire pit overlooking the lake at the top of the hill and a Hammock.There is a rack on the beach with three to four kayaks and several paddle boards. Dock has full electric and lounge chairs on both levels as well as the beach. The beach walks out slowly to deeper water and there is a volleyball net in the water at the beach. . All trailers must park inside my fence line on my property at the first entrance to the property. The ramp is private for only Runnymeade to access to put there boat in that’s why I have a code. Jet skis need to tie up on the beach. All trailers need to park at the first entrance at my property inside the fence line. The boat house has life vests all sizes, rafts, surf boards, noodles and water lily mat.

There are two parking spaces at the main entrance and a circular driveway.

If you use the boat lift when you take your boat out please make sure when you leave you do not leave the lift in the water.

I will send the code to the main door the day of check in. There is a new DG market for groceries and supplies and is less than a mile from the house on Monrovia and has a descent selection and is close and if you need something last minute. Boat Rentals the closet place by water is The Cove and it’s close by boat or land. Then Mid Atlantic Water Sports located at the Boardwalk by Timms River-shore Restaurant has all types of boats and skis they rent. The boardwalk at Timms is about two miles and has a Moo Thru for ice cream and an arcade and putt putt golf and a new Italian Market is opening and there is a gift shop that sells gear for water sports and and apparel. It’s fun to see the lake and take the boat to the dam and eat at El Patron on the water and have large packs in the water and you get to see the lake and the dam. The post office is in mineral as well as the farmers market on the weekend and is about ten minutes. There are many golf courses around and tons of places to go hiking. The state park here has a ton of hiking trails and all levels. Lake Anna is one of the top bass fishing destinations in northern virginia for large mouth bass, crappie and striped bass. Jim Hemby is a well known guide and always on the lake and has up to 18 rods and a large comfortable boat. his guide service is Lake Anna Striper. many guest have stayed and go to Kings Dominion for the amusement park and is less than an hour away. Louisa has a cute town so the shops and restaurants and art center. Dominion Raceway is about twenty miles from the house. Fredericksburg is twenty four miles and the old town is quaint and a variety of places to go. Charlottesville is less than an hour and a breath taking drive to Hump Back Mountain at the Blue Ridge Parkway and has stunning views and wonderful palaces to dine and shop or go to a concert. Shenandoah National Park is wonderful to go visit and hike with over 500 miles of trails and cascading waterfalls in deep canyons and wildlife in the old hickory forest well and the drive from there to the lake is dreamy. Old Rag is named one of the top 25 hikes in the world and the White Oak Canyon Falls is amazing. Other places close as well well with quaint towns and has famous fried chicken is Gordonsvile and Orange is a beautiful and historical and less than 13 miles with wonderful dining and fine dining and the Madison is less than twenty miles and famous wineries and the Apple Harvey’s Festival at Graves Mountain Lodge. Everything above is a five minute drive to an hour at most.

Great house in a perfect location

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and both times have been great. The house is located in a quiet little cove with a beautiful 2 story dock and private beach. There is also a boat ramp right next to the property which is a giant plus. The house has plenty of sleeping space and a lot of updated amenities. Would definitely recommend this property!

Great location!

House was perfect with the lakefront property, dock, fire pit, etc. Owner was very responsive if we had any questions. A little bit of TLC and fixing some plumbing issues could make this a top notch property. Regardless, we had a great time and would definitely come back for another stay.

Beautiful Lake Anna View & Location

Lots of outdoor fun swimming and fishing on private beach and pier. A little disappointed that the advertised water trampoline and paddle boat were not there. Also a couple indoor arcade games weren't working. The landlord did communicate well however, there are some issues that folks mentioned in previous reviews that still exist with the house. We didn't allow any of the issues to prevent us having a good time. The location is great and the view beautiful and relaxing.

Owner was very responsive and easy to get in touch with! Property is a bit dated and everything had a kind of lake/cabin smell. But it had loads of beds and rooms… nice big refrigerators… and a beautiful view. Water pressure is iffy in the showers. Recommend taking paper plates, plasticware, napkins, and extra trash bags. There are LOTS of instructions on where everything needs to go and be placed around the house - would recommend the owner just make a binder with check in and check out procedures.If you’re looking for a place for a bunch of folks and you’re planning on being out on the water most of the time - this place will get the job done. Just a side note - there is a lot of boat/jet ski traffic in the main waterway in front of the back of the house once you pull away from the boathouse.

Great Lake house for a family gathering!

We had a great time at Lake Anna! What a great location! So much nicer than a hotel, gave us all the room that we needed. Had a few issues with the house but it was about what I expected for a lake house in the off season. With the winter weather we were dependent on space heaters, which was fine but we blew the circuit and were in the dark late one evening until the property manager got back to us (which happened very quickly given the late hour). The key things such as the kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures were nice and appeared recently updated. There were some non-functional things like ceiling repairs that were needed, just felt like a seasonal house to set expectations but not a problem. We were there in the off season - apparently there had been a repairmen there just before we checked in - apparently he didn’t clean clean up after himself and we found pizza in several rooms. Other than the pizza it was clean. We loved the lake and took advantage of the boats. How amazing to wake to lake views everyday!

Unsafe and Poorly Maintained

- Found a berry flavored vape pen on the bunk bed ladder in the room shared by our 4 and 6 year olds. - Glassware in unlocked cabinets easy to reach by my infant - Dangerous cleaning supplies in unlocked cabinets easy for my infant to reach - Stairs leading to upstairs loft were improperly bolted together, and not properly bolted to the floor - Safety posts on stairwell to basement were loose and couldn't support any weight - Gate on deck above the boat dock had no gate latch, was simply wedged into place - Fixtures (shower fixtures and light fixtures/ ceiling fans) were hanging out of the walls/ ceilings - Attempted to turn on the shower in the master bedroom, and water began pouring out of basement ceiling. Attempted to call the number of the owner provided to VRBO, BUT IT CALLED THE RENTAL HOUSE. - Owner was dealing with understandable personal issues, but didn't provide 1) proper contact information and/or 2) a backup person to contact The property had lovely views and would have been plenty of space. There was broken junk (refrigerator, dishes, hot-tub, etc) everywhere you looked though.

Renter Beware! Not worth amount paid a night!

Not what you would expect for a house that cost as much as this one did a night, probably half of that would make sense. We stayed at a house that was past the wake zone by the cove before and it was less than half of what we paid for this, but 100% better quality. This house is old, but in the process of being updated (I think), there was a lot of trash outside that would lead to that assumption. We could not figure out how to turn on the lights at the boat house, even after asking. The boat house had more spiders than could be counted. I was bit, twice, and will probably have to get them looked at by a doctor. We were required to bring our own sheets, take trash when we left, and put away all dishes, all ok, but made us think that there was no house cleaning between guests. House was very dirty, to include blankets, and there was no water pressure and a struggle to shower. Dryer took three cycles to get towels from wet to damp, the belt was slipping and made for a great noise after a day on the lake. Kitchen is nice, and seems to have been updated. Had to reset wireless router numerous times during stay to allow for internet connection. There were ants in the basement. We were harassed when getting our boat out of the water. I literally pulled it out of the water and a lady approached me to ask if I was going to lock the gate. Demanded I answered her questions because she lived in that community. Very unfortunate experience and the lesson learned is to not rent without better pictures of the house. Normally would not have, but every house on the lake was rented when we could go. Plan early and see pictures of what you are renting.

I have a note right when you walk in on the door to call immediately with any issues. Lakes tend to carry a lot of spiders and not once did you mention any ants. All other renters have said great things. In the future if you are not happy please contact right away on any property. Almost all guests that booked this summer already booked for next summer. The review is not fair when you do not communicate with the host with any issues which could of been addressed. Not one person has complained about the cleaning crew this summer.

Beautiful location, some inconveniences and safety concerns

Even in the very cold and windy weather, the location was beautiful and so enticing to return in spring or summer. Overall a nice house but had some issues throughout our 24 hr stay. Host communicated with us that the dishwasher wasn't working and there were personal issues with the cleaning crew as well as herself that couldn't be avoided so we were prepared for some minor inconveniences. When we arrived a candle was burning down almost to the wick with the tv blaring. Luckily the propane man was just leaving and explained how we would need to adjust the new propane heater using a wrench .Minor inconveniences included all unmade beds in the loft and wet towels in the washing machine. After we did the dishes by hand a few of us went to the dock. Those that stayed behind heard water and discovered a hose that was not attached under the sink and water flooded out onto the floor, soaking the rugs, and possibly leaking to the floor below. Lots of cleaning supplies had to be cleared out, and towels found to soak up the water. Contacted host who talked us through how to reconnect the hose. At another point the refrigerators stopped working and we had to get the code to the utility room to find the breaker box to trip and correct that. Two burners on the gas stove were very tricky to turn off with knobs that were not secure. At midnight we had no water at all. Left a voicemail for the host who did text us back luckily and required another trip to the breaker box to deal with another switch. The utility room seemed to have lots of cords connected and wrapped around various places that seemed possibly unsafe. The basement bathroom had a heater on the floor close to water source, another possible hazard. In spite of all the challenges the host did respond at least by text to our messages of concern, apologized for the issues and was able to address them for the most part. We still had a great time because we are resourceful and worked together. We loved eating around the great dining room table . Our recommendation to the host is to address these issues of safety and possible hazards before allowing other guests to come. Once the issues have been resolved, this will be absolutely ideal place to which we would definitely want to return.

Run, Don't Walk, to ANY other Rental-Beautiful Views are NOT Worth Dealing with the HORRIBLE Owner!

There are positive's and negatives to this rental, unfortunately the negatives overpower anything positive. For the Positives; the lake view is gorgeous, secluded and very tranquil. The private beach area/dock were wonderful for our little ones to play and enjoy the water and allow the older kids to fish. We used the fire pit to make smore's, so fun. It was relaxing on the floating mat that was anchored to the dock. The kitchen overlooking the lake was beautiful. Negatives; it was clear the rental had not been cleaned well at all, despite the high VRBO fee for cleaning/Covid. There was dirt/random junk under all the couches and beds. The previous renters trash on the beach/porch/dirty dishes were left for us to clean up. Although we thought we checked to make sure there was nothing to harm our kids we found a small Tupperware of pills accessible. The kids also found a half of a pill on the horse book in the lower bookcase downstairs, where there were other stuffed animals/kid books. We saw it shortly after and the pill was opened with powder on the book. We didn't know if our kids opened it or if a previous renter did so our guests had to leave immediately to seek medical treatment for their 3 year old, luckily this was our last night there anyways. The pill was determined to be for ADHD/eating disorders, per poison control . There was mold growing on items in downstairs cupboards and we had to wash every kitchen item before using because they were all dirty. Originally it appeared the owner is trying to remodel the place but then became apparent that an amateur handyman tried to fix/rig everything. The motor to the refrigerator was obnoxiously loud the entire time to the point of keeping us awake/unable to relax on main level. The owner claimed we weren't supposed to use it yet it's still listed as 2 fridges on this listing. The stick on carpet on the stairs were just laying on the stairs not secured at all. 2 of our little ones and my husband fell down stairs as they slipped on them. There was at least one mouse within the home which we saw scurry about. The owner is defensive, unprofessional, and rude. I sent her the above positives/negatives & she immediately blamed us for all the issues. She claimed she told me to call her immediately with issues, she did not, only a handwritten note in kitchen says to. She even called to yell at me! We were there to relax, all the cosmetic things were overlooked until the pill. We will NEVER be back!!!

The house was completely cleaned! They had way over the amount of guest that are aloud. They did not notify me of any issues until the night prior to leaving. The broke a shower, damaged two arcade games, left all there trash, rearranged all the furniture, lost the paddle for the canoe, lost several Noodles and rafts. There are two large refrigerators and the one has a note not to use and they decided to plug in and use when they had a brand new 36 inch double door refrigerator and freezer and another refrigerator for beverages. There is a total of three fridges and says owners refrigerator. There is a note that says do not turn on and they decided to and is not for there use and the note clearly says do not turn on and common sense if you heard a noise turn off. Again I was not notified. The hutch is 8 feet tall and I have children and not sure why a child is up in an 8 foot glass cabinet and should be supervised. The kids lost all the skew balls there is water damage on the arcade that is a full-size arcade. Which if a child is up in 8 foot cabinet shows they are not watching there children. The cleaners are very thorough but do not open every cabinet and go through all books and videos and this is where a child found a pill so they say that’s 8 feet tall. There was trash all over the yard and wax from candles on the deck railings. There kids decided to peel off the stair treads that’s why they were loose. They also broke the stairs going f up into the loft and bolts were missing. There is a hand written note to call which all renters have seen all summer and she is the first to have an issue. They left all dishes and the house was a disaster so the kids hand prints all over walls, doors and windows. They broke the screen to gazebo and most likely kids pushing the screen not the door. They also left the water running and over flowed the bathroom to the lower level and again probably not watching there child in the bathroom. It clearly states to call immediately with any issues and I will come personally and the cleaners will they did not have any complaints until the night they were leaving. The house has a brand new roof, all new floors, all new bathrooms, brand new trek deck on the dock. Brand new not lift, brand new driveway. All was done March 2021. I do not recommend renting to this family they did not make me aware of any issues u til leaving and clearly states to call immediately.

House was filthy. Bugs on every surface. We could not stay there. Contacted VRBO 4 times and a refund has been refused. They do not stand behind there name.

All guest have left five stars on all sites. At a lake you will have bugs daily and have to cleanoff daily it’s a lake house. Our cleaning crew is excellent and all guest prior to your reservation and after have left five stars on all sites.

Worked out great for us!

Comfy, plenty of space, lake access - our group of 11 could have stayed at the property for our whole visit and enjoyed every minute. Plenty of amenities. The lake house has a lived-in feel and the fact that everything wasn’t perfectly polished made me more at home.

Great Weekend Place

We rented the house for a long weekend to celebrate a bride to be! We had plenty of space and loved our access to the lake. We rented a boat about 2 miles from this house too. We had a great time and will be back!

Little piece of heaven

We celebrated my husband’s birthday with 5 close friends at this fantastic house! Right on the gorgeous Lake Anna, with a private beach, an awesome fire pit and plenty of bedrooms- this place was absolutely perfect! The property owner was fantastic- very responsive and so accommodating! We were so pleased with this house, and I slept so well in the extremely comfortable master suite bedroom! Such a cool place! We will definitely be back!

Great private beach area

The pros: The property owner was great to work with and very responsive. The outside private beach area was great to have. We really enjoyed the boat house and lake. The house is located close to restaurants. The cons: There are obvious repairs that needed to be completed inside the home. The house also really needs to be cleaned better. This was my first time renting in lake Anna and I didn't know there wasn't trash service. I had to take all of our trash to a transfer station. We were checking out on a Sunday and the place did not open until 10. Just something to keep in mind for future renters.

Great area, love the beach sand and deck.

Great getaway, owner was great with questions, we enjoyed our stay. Room for improvement on upkeep, ceiling had a small leak, upper deck was showing its age, lots of bugs, but we made the most of our stay and had a good time with family and kids.

Beautiful View

This lake house has gorgeous views of Lake Anna, tons of bedrooms and beds, and a spacious kitchen. The living room is small but the game room downstairs is where you'll spend most of your time when indoors. I'm sure the property really shines in the summer when you can enjoy the water. We came for a small NYE gathering and had a nice time.

Pleasant Stay

We really enjoyed the private beach, dock and fire pit. We brought our own kayaks. We all also enjoyed the game room downstairs. We will go back again!!

A wonderful fall getaway weekend!

Located directly on Lake Anna , this house was perfect for our family getaway. The turning leaves were beautiful and our family enjoyed playing games, making campfires and just taking in the gorgeous views. The host was very communicative and helpful. We look forward to returning!

From northern Virginia and have owned on the lake since 1997. I enjoy boating and fishing and water sports. I have spent a lot of time at Lake Anna and it’s a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the lake. There are many places around the lake to go to for all types of events or shopping to breweries and wineries and restaurants. Lots of golf courses and many places to go hiking. Many places for scoping out historical sites such as Montpellier President James Madison house in Orange you can walk the grounds and for Civil War you can start at the Fredericksburg Battlefield and they will lead you to all the sites.Many hire a guide to go fishing on the lake.
