We are glad that you enjoyed your visit, and we're sorry that you experienced Goldilocks Syndrome with the mattresses and did not get restful sleep. We've learned over the years that no matter how new, expensive or highly rated/reviewed they are, mattresses are either too firm, too soft or just right (thus the "Goldilocks Syndrome" name). Along with the bedroom furniture sets, they were purchased just before the pandemic, so they are not quite 3 years old. We do appreciate the feedback, and we will make it a point to ask arriving guests to let us know about the comfort level of the mattresses. Sometimes a mattress topper is the fix to soften or firm up the comfort level. Dear Julia, We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Tarpon Beach 203, and that you were able to enjoy the Shell Museum, restaurants, and the 26.1 miles of bike paths. Your stay coincided with Easter Week, which is *the* busiest week of the year here on the islands; so, yes, there were a LOT of people taking advantage of the beautiful weather and the various beach accesses that the island has. Now that the winter season has ended, things have returned to a more normal, relaxed pace, with fewer visitors utilizing the causeway and island beach accesses. There are a few condominiums that are in a more remote location on the island that are 100% identical to Tarpon Beach in terms of layout and unit count. Should you want to return to the islands for another visit, we can offer them as an option for your consideration. Until then, Sanibel will be here, waiting for your next visit! Dear Leanna & Larry, I am pleased that we were able to accommodate a complimentary early check-in time for your family, especially after such a long drive, and I am so very sorry that your stay fell short of your expectations. We rely on feedback to make sure that your vacation can be its absolute best. A welcome email was sent after your check-in, asking that any housekeeping or maintenance issues be reported so that they are addressed & you are on track for a pleasant stay. After reviewing our phone and email records, we did not find any reports of the deficiencies you noted. We're here to help 24/7! We most certainly would have had the Owner's private housekeeper return immediately to address the bedding, drain, spider, and vacuum/mop the floor again. In addition, we would have shared our Locals' Cure-All for No-Seeums! An extra set of sheets are in the closet. I've made note for the housekeeper to please remove any sheets that do not fit as they should, and we will purchase new sheet sets with deeper pockets. We most certainly would have replaced and changed the sheets during your stay! When in Florida (and especially on an island), you can be subject to power outages at any given time, especially since we have been experiencing record-setting temperatures nationwide. These same high temps resulted in the swimming pools being warmer than usual, and the afternoon/overnight thunderstorms can result in leaves, pollen or bugs in the swimming pools and in the common areas. The condos provide a pool skimmer for your use, in between weekly cleaning. These are circumstances that we have absolutely zero control over. Living or vacationing in tropics means that sometimes, we must prepare to be a bug's best friend. It is said that the mosquito is actually the Florida State Bird, and the no-seeum is a close 2nd! The no-seeum is actually a small coastal gnat, and it makes itself known during May and June. If there is not a breeze, their presence can be felt. Some people are affected by them, while others, not at all. A simple cure-all is to use ammonia (provided in the condo) - which works immediately to relieve welts. Avon's "Skin So Soft" and "No No-Seeum" (all natural) are favorite repellants. As an alternative to repellants, some people prefer to wear long, loose clothing.
