The ocean views were absolutely stunning. It felt like we had our own private beach. The home was very comfortable yet dated. Our beds were very comfortable. The location is ideal.

Ocean View is amazing. Good location with Waldport and Newport short drives. Chubby Mermaid Bakery in Seal Rock is good.

The location and view are awesome. We did find an open window with no screen, towels in the dryer and coffee grinds in the coffee pot upon arrival.

Fantastic location and price for a cozy oceanfront house that makes a great basecamp for exploring the Oregon coast near Seal Rock. The beautiful view from wall-to-wall living room windows makes up for somewhat-dated decor and furnishings. You won’t see many other people on this beautiful, scenic stretch of sandy beach with offshore rocks, and can wander for miles in both directions. Easy access down short cliff about a block away (at Trail sign before grey house on Raspberry Lane) or park at pull-off near beach within 1/2 mile. This location is convenient for wonderful seafood restaurants from Yachats to Newport (Local Ocean, Clearwater, LunaSea, and Crab Shack were our favorites). The Coastal Aquarium is outstanding. Yaquina Head Lighthouse is picturesque and nearby Cobble Beach tide pools were cool to explore at low tide. Loved this place and recommend Sandalwood House to others who value beachfront property and sunset views over a fancy place to stay.

The property is dated but was fine for our purposes. We used it as a home base for visiting our daughter who’s living in Oregon temporarily. Loved walking on the beach where we saw bald eagles in the trees. Visited sights up and down the coast.

The views were amazing! Can’t get much better. However, the furnishings are very outdated. All of the beds were extremely uncomfortable and the mattresses should have been changed a long time ago! I don’t mean to knit pick, but the list goes on. The couches are rock hard, and one is so damaged on one end you can’t even sit on it. The board games they have are missing pieces, the DVDs are dirty and scratched. There are zero hangers in any of the closets. The only cleaning supplies are Clorox wipes. They had plenty of dishwasher tabs, but no dishwasher. The positives, plenty of toilet paper, plenty of hot water, the rooms are large, the neighborhood is quiet, and the location is great.

Unit was very disappointing. Deferred maintenance is evident upon entry. Broken window shades, electrical outlets that will not hold an electrical plug in charge chord, no dishwasher, weeds actually growing in the windowsills, window moldings that need to be repainted, poor quality kitchen towels, no dish rags, and the list goes on. This unit does not live up to standards.

The House was rustic and homey, but we loved it. The view of the Ocean from the Kitchen, Dining area and Living Room was amazing. The kitchen was well appointed for breakfasts and dinners in.

The pictures of the rental on the website were very old and made the property look like it was in better condition than it actually was. The furniture was incredibly worn and extremely uncomfortable. The linens and towels were old. The views from the living room and kitchen were incredible but the windows were dirty and a half dead tree blocked part of the view. The patio had to be reached by going though the garage and the bushes surrounding the patio were much higher than pictured on the website. The toilets were awful. Not only were they very low but there was a trick to getting both of them to flush. They needed to be updated. There was not a bathroom on the bottom level where the two main bedrooms were located. Having to navigate a stairway in the middle of the night was not pleasant. The TVs were old and although the WIFI was good, streaming kept failing. We were disappointed with the property but it didn't keep us from having a good trip

Great older home with fantastic views of the Pacific. The kitchen had plenty of pots, pans, dishes. There is no dishwasher but, that did not bother us. I wish there was a Kuerig type coffee maker. We only stayed two nights and it was not worth it to buy a bag of ground coffee. I could have easily taken coffee pods home with me on the plane. The beds were comfortable. A box fan would have been nice. We really enjoyed our stay and would rent again if we are ever back in Oregon.

Walk right out of the house and onto the beach.

This charming small house is very comfortable and right on the beach. Enjoy a spectacular view from the house and deck, then walk right out onto the beach. The sunsets were amazing! This was our favorite property of our West Coast adventure.

Beach house

My sisters ,wife and I really enjoyed our long overdue trip to the coast. Great time for 4 old people.The house was exactly as described in photos and details. I hope we live long enough to do it again.

Great location

Enjoyed the stay. Property was a bit dated, but very clean and adequate. We did not like the fact that we could not have a few family guests during the day. We understand the concern about rave type parties, but there should be some vetting middle ground.
