My family and I had a wonderful time visiting Washington DC. We stayed 4 nights with Home Sweet City, the description and location were just as described. The apartment was clean and well supplied with everything we needed.

This place was amazing for us. Came for my graduation for Georgetown University with family that have never been to DC. It was spacious, clean, and location was great. Host provided clear instructions and everything you needed was readily available in the house. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting and even book it myself again. Thank you so much!

Great Family Stay!

Perfect location and easy to access Senate offices and the Capitol! We will definitely stay again for future trips. Very family friendly and hosts were excellent!

The only issue was we didn't find the extra towels for a few days. Location location location. It was very convenient once we got the lay of the land. Didn't realize it was a basement unit until we arrived because the address didn't have the "B" designation. But we basically just slept and made coffee there.

Awesome location, super easy to communicate with property management team, lots of close restaurants, comfy beds and linens, well stocked kitchen… perfect two bedroom set up for a couple with a teenager. Would definitely come back. The upstairs has occupants, recommend using the provided white noise machine. It didn’t bother us at all since we up early to go sightseeing. We loved everything about the property!

Great stay! Saw a lot!

We had a great stay! Squeezed in with our two kids under two! Pack and plays were provided for an extra charge and it worked out perfect! It’s small so it was cozy with the kids stuff all set up but perfect location to walk all over! We had a great time!

Absolutely spectacular!

We loved everything about this place! The unit was spotless upon arrival and was well appointed with all the basic necessities. The space accommodated our family of four and even included child friendly dinnerware. We will be staying here again. Thank you for making our weekend getaway a pleasure!

Beautiful apartment and lovely location!

We had a wonderful visit at this basement apartment. Everything felt fresh and clean inside, and it was just a 3 minute walk to the playground and a 10-15 minute walk to yummy coffee and other local restaurants. It was quiet and calm. Thank you for hosting us!

This is a basement apartment, as is reported in the listing. We stayed here 9 nights. It is super cute and clean. That said, the noise from the people living their life upstairs is far worse than I could have imagined from other reviews. You WILL be woken up every morning at 6:15 - no white noise, ear plugs, nothing will cover the sounds - I tried (chairs scraping, dishwasher running, etc). I was overly optimistic when booking the apartment and despite my best efforts to go to bed early, I stayed up with my teens past midnight (we are on vacation!) and then the 6am wake up was brutal. The property management company offered to move us, but the other locations would have ended up costing us more in Ubers etc as they were farther away from our destinations. Another issue - the moisture levels in the apartment are so high that our towels never dried. I had to dry them in the dryer every time after using. Other than those issues, it is in a great neighborhood and overall clean.

The unit was great. That’s why I rated it high. The one fault that could easily be corrected was that the hot water was not hot enough.

Great location an accommodation!

This was an adorable apartment that was perfect for my stay to visit my daughter who lives in the neighborhood. It really had everything you could want. The only reason I did not give it five stars was because you could hear the apartment above. It was a family with kids above running back-and-forth during the day and at 6:15 am I heard the adult leaving for work. You can’t fault them for living their life though!

Mismanaged though nice stay

There is a reason why this listing doesn't have any VRBO reviews, and that is because the management company who operates the listing is terrible. I did not receive any information on the listing, including how to get into the stay until I called several times the day I arrived (which was in 16* weather). I waited for over twenty minutes to access the stay, and when I got in the internet did not work and the host clearly had never been in the listing to know where items (ie router) were. The coffee pot never worked, I didn't receive information on parking until I was looking at a printed page in the stay. The stay was cute but all of this mismanagement left a sour taste in my mouth. To the hosts, stay on top of your listings so this does not happen to another unfortunate soul.

As you may recall, we shared with you a copy/screenshot of the check-in details we had sent by email, along with the property guide to include all of the pertinent details for your upcoming stay, including parking options in your booking confirmation in addition to a follow up email prior to your arrival. We provide this information to all of our guests upon booking in preparation for a seamless arrival. In all fairness, we did provide you with the access instructions within 13 minutes of being notified while you were at the property so you were able to access the unit without hesitation. At this time, we did inquire if you received the check-in form as we did not receive it per our previous requests, you did advise that you did not receive it, we sent it to you again with the contact details provided during your booking process. We wish we would have known that you were having trouble with the coffee pot at the time of your stay, as we would have been eager to troubleshoot and provide assistance to you, our team is always readily available for our guests throughout their stay, should any challenges arise. Overall, we are glad that you enjoyed the apartment and would love to have the opportunity to host you again should you return to Washington!

This basement apartment was perfect for our family of four. It was nicely decorated, very clean in a quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to Capital Hill. The communication was excellent from booking, to while we were there, all the way till checkout. An added bonus was essentials already there in the kitchen and bath areas. We would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit DC and not be stuck in a hotel. The kitchen was perfect for making meals before we headed out for the day or when we got home. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This is a very nice location for touring the Capital. It’s only a 1/2 mile walk to the Library of Congress and a little under 3/4 mile to Union Station. This lower floor flat has been updated nicely and it was great for our family of five. We truly appreciated the nice teas and coffee that were stocked. The bathroom had plenty of space and the living room / breakfast nook was a relaxing spot. We’d gladly stay here again.
