Pros: The cabin itself was beautiful, clean, and had many dog-friendly features which was so nice! Beds were very comfortable. The "dog-run" on the side of the home was a huge plus. Internet worked great, and streaming services were available on the tv. Ingles Market nearby is huge and has everything you'd need. Our favorite experiences were Chimney Rock Gem Mining (must-do with kids), exploring the creek at the beginning of the community, hiking Chimney Rock, and visiting Stepp's Orchard in Hendersonville for apple picking. Cons: the neighborhood itself was much more rustic than I was expecting. I read gated community and thought it would be paved roads with a few winding streets, but it's very rocky dirt roads with lots of twists, turns, steep inclines and declines to get to the cabin. Glad my husband was driving because I wouldn't have felt comfortable. If you're from a mountainous region then it may not feel like a big deal, but we're from flat coastal land so it felt like a rollercoaster. And if you're fussy about a clean car - it's going to get filthy from the dirt roads. We didn't care, just wasn't expecting it. Something that was very minor, but it did bother me, was the lack of lighting in the cabin. I felt like the lightbulbs were all very warm and dim, and I could never get the room bright enough. Cloudy days made it tougher with a lack of natural light. Overall it was a great stay and my kids didn't want to leave! Hosts were responsive. I'd recommend!
