If you prefer a secluded spot for your beach vacation, Whale’s Way ensconces you in a sunny, woodsy compound all your own. You’ll hear the ocean’s roar since you’re just across the highway and a five-minute walk from Arcadia Beach. Ocean breezes waft across two outdoor decks, one with a porch swing, dining furniture and barbecue. Inside, you’ll enjoy a spacious, beautifully appointed living room, with cathedral ceilings, tile floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, lots of contemporary seating, artful décor, a gas fireplace and a TV. The formal dining room is the perfect place to gather for a feast from the roomy, full equipped kitchen.

A spacious main-level King Primary suite has a peek of an ocean view, and there are also two suites downstairs! The downstairs king suite has an impressive bath complete with a bidet, soaking tub, walk-in shower and beautiful pottery sinks from Mexico, but there’s also a table and chairs, a private reading room, and a private ground-floor entrance, making this an ideal home to share with another family. A queen bedroom also has its own bath, with a coffee bar so you can enjoy an early morning cup without disturbing anyone.

You’ll enjoy plenty of style in this artful, private home, and fine beach time at quiet Arcadia Beach. When you’re ready to join the crowds, hop in the car to be in Cannon Beach or Seaside in minutes. You’ll happily return to your own little villa oasis for a beautiful sunset and an evening of enjoyable time together.

Very private and clean. Large enough for all of us. Well equipped kitchen was a massive plus as we have a chef in the family!

Great stay!

We’ve been coming to Cannon Beach for years and this is the fist time staying in this rental. The house is beautiful! Great layout gives everyone their own space and at the same time roomy enough for family gatherings. The location was perfect, surrounded by trees for privacy and very close to beach access and downtown. Thank you!

The house itself is lovely and had the spaces we needed for our family. The water is a bit of an issue due to the high mineral/iron content. It's kind of smelly and a bit brown, but won't hurt you---there is one spigot in the kitchen that's double filtered for drinking and it works great. For our visit, the water was over softened so it was very slippery which made it hard to tell when we or our hand washed dishes were free of soap. The toilet paper is what you find in any public restroom so bring your own if you don't want to use transparent TP. There is a regular DVD player there, not listed in the amenities, and a big basket of DVDs. You can't see the ocean from the house, but it's very close by and the house is situated near many wonderful places to visit.With most vacation rentals the only cost you can't see upfront when booking is the lodging tax. This listing added the owner's personal tax cost to that 'hidden fee list'. We were shocked at that charge adding over 100 a night to our stay. We don't know if that's the case with all of the host's (Meredith Lodging) listings or if that was a personal choice of the actual owners.Recap: Lovely house with good spaces for family, and lovely land, near many nice outdoor spots and towns. Hidden expenses to be aware of when booking. Some water issues that are navigable.

I apologize the toilet tissue didn’t meet expectations — we will take your feedback into consideration when next reviewing our offerings with our paper products vendor. It is not only a legal obligation but also something very important to us to provide our guests the full cost of the stay before they sign the booking contract and pay their deposit. We never add fees after a guest has booked, unless you add pets onto the stay after booking, and the owner does not have any power to add their own, either. I will review all of the messaging between you and our team and retrain whichever staff member incorrectly relayed this information to you, if that was the case. Thank you again for the detailed feedback — it helps us improve future stays.

Great space for groups

The house has wonderful space - 3 large rooms each with their own bathroom! The only issues we had were that the cleaning could have been better - we found dead bugs in corners and cobwebs on lights, etc. The biggest issue I had, though, was with the water. I know it’s well water, my grandparents were on well water, so I’m not a stranger to it, but this was pretty extreme. When my mom drew a bath, the water was brown. The toilets always looked used. Our hair didn’t feel clean after washing it in the shower. I filled my water bottle with filtered water goring the kitchen sink, and when I drank it later it tasted like chemicals. I’m not sure how to address the water situation, but it might be a deal breaker for me in the future. Disappointing, because the house is great.
