Om overnatningsstedet

Vær blandt de første til at besøge denne komfortable rustikke hytte i skoven. Det er helt helt nyt med nye møbler, senge, køkken, bad, sengetøj og meget mere. Kabinen har et soveværelse og hems ovenpå. Den største sal har et veludstyret åbent køkken med spiseplads. Stuen er rummelige og komfortable med en dejlig udsigt over marker og træer, med en vid udsigt over vandet i baggrunden. Badeværelset er placeret på første sal ved siden af trappen til soveværelset og hems. En stor veranda med stole sikrer et fredeligt og roligt ophold.

En sti ned grus køretur tager dig over bækken og ned til et sæt trapper og vores egen private strand. Udsigten er smuk og vandet er forfriskende forfriskende!
Kabinen er placeret en kort gåtur fra vores sommerhus opført som # 501.514, hvis du ønsker at bringe flere venner eller familie.

The Homestead Cabin

The Homestead cabin is a true gem! We felt instantly relaxed and at home, nestled in the peaceful woods with stunning ocean views just a short walk away. The mossy trails were enchanting, and watching the two Daisys play on the beach was a highlight. Thank you, David and Carolyn, for creating such a welcoming and special place. Your hospitality was much appreciated!

Wonderful Homestead Cabin

Relaxation paradise

One of the quietest places I ever visited. We had a very relaxing one week stay. Loved launching the kayaks right from the beach. Our doodle was very happy here. The private beachfront is amazing.

Perfect getaway

Awesome adventure!

Perfect location for avid outdoors people or for anyone who loves nature and the peace and seclusion it offers. The close proximity to Acadia National Park is icing on the cake! David and Carolyn are gracious hosts and everything was perfect for our stay! Will definitely try to visit again!

This was a perfect little hideaway

The Homestead Cottage was just what we were looking for! Quaint and quiet in a forest setting with the ocean steps away. David and Carolyn were wonderful host with tips on things to see and do in the area along with answering questions about things we saw. Their dog Daisy was also very happy to see our Golden Girls. Incredible place

Everytime we stay here the experience gets better. Beautiful weather all week. David and Carolyn are excellent hosts. They were very welcoming and the friendliest people you will ever meet. We intend to rent the cabin again.

Beautiful inlet in Maine

Cabin was beautiful and just the right size. We had everything we needed. Carolyn and David were super responsive to any questions. The inlet beach is so picturesque and peaceful and we saw seal pups each day which was a highlight for us. Acadia and Bar Harbor are 1 hr and 20 minutes away as an FYI but this is a great place to stay away from the crowds

Absolutely Everything

This is my 3rd visit to The Homestead Cabin - it is my annual respite that I look forward to every year. I couldn’t be happier with the calm, peace, and tranquility that this little northern piece of paradise offers. From the privacy of the cabin, the beauty of the shoreline, and the fresh air of the forest - I can think of nowhere else I would want to be. Thank you for yet another amazing year/vacation with you all!! I will definitely be back!!

Relaxing, cozy cottage.

Extremely wonderful place to relax. Amenities are very nice. If you want a secluded, peaceful, quiet place all to yourself with a short walk to rocky sea shore, then this is the place. The sunset was awesome from the shore. Be prepared for a mile long driveway deep into woods of Maine. We looked forward to returning to cabin after day of exploring Acadia.

The Best Getaway!

This is perfect for nature lovers looking for peace and quiet and a complete opposite to the over run mad house know as Maine tourism. If you love the quiet outdoors and fun freedom for your well behaved dog , this is the spot! The owners Golden Retriever, Daisy , is an absolute joy and kept our pups entertained. Owners are wonderful, hard working, very friendly and welcoming. You just can’t go wrong staying here !

Great in spite of then weather.

For the most part, the weather was terrible, but the kayaker did get in several paddles in a spectacular area for paddling. The cabin is perfect for our needs and was very comfortable. Our hosts were outstanding. We are already booked fr the same tíme next year.

The way life should be

We have stayed here many times. Each time is better than the last. David and Carolyn are exceptional hosts. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay. We are from Maine and we look forward to staying here every time and are crest fallen whenever we have to leave. Homestead Cabin helps us to recharge our batteries. The visits to the beach, the trails, the views and so more are to be savored.

Magical Cabin in the woods

The Homestead Cabin was a magical place in the woods. It is just as described down a long driveway and a short walk to the water. We were greeted by the sweetest dog who showed us the path to the beach. I am so glad we picked this cabin for our first trip to Maine. You won’t be disappointed.

Property is remote and quite excellent for those seeking a retreat into the natural beauty of Maine.

This is our third stay. We love this spot. The property is clean, comfortable and thoughtfully equipped in LL Bean style with touches such as muffin tins and pie plates to bake blueberry pies! There is a beautiful private beach with steep stairs for access. You might be tempted to never leave the cabin. Our hosts were helpful and attentive to our needs but respected our privacy.

The best Maine has to offer

We have stayed here for several years and i plan to stay here for many years to come. David and Carolyn have created that oasis that each of us needs for vacation. They have provided for our every need. Even during the days it rained, it still felt as if we had our own woodland paradise. We are always greeted by the owners. There is so much to do on and off the island. The island community provides a wonderful Independence day celebration. The parades, community events and the glorious fireworks over the harbor are always our favorite. You will never run out of great places to eat and if you choose to stay in you will have everything you need to enjoy the Maine experience.

Serenity in the coastal woods

We had the most amazing time at the cottage which is absolutely perfect in every way. Our hosts are incredible people and have the sweetest puppy named Daisy. Check in and out was very easy, and the cottage truly has everything you need. It was immaculate upon arrival. Absolutely recommend this rental.

Absolutely Divine

I am a returning guest to this gorgeous property, having booked my second stay immediately after my first. The tranquility, pristine landscape, private beach, and access to Acadia and Bar Harbor are just a few of my favorites about the Homestead Cabin. Great little Nest near Stonington

Very clean, cozy, quiet, well appointed and just as advertised. Enjoyed hiking, kayaking and walking around Stonington. Great place to unwind.

Vært: David Friedell

We are two retired music teachers that retired here many years ago so that we could live in the woods by the sea in a peaceful and beautiful place. Carolyn spends her days working in the garden and David pursues his lifelong interest in tinkering and playing the pipe organ. We came here as newlyweds and summered here for our whole married life. It was a great place to raise our two boys who spent their childhood in the woods, on the water or helping their parents build something or other. It is our pleasure to share this wonderful place with guests.
