Perfect rustic vacation!

We loved everything about the cabin and surrounding area! The host made such a warm welcome for us with a sign, fresh flowers throughout and lots of goodies in the kitchen like farm fresh eggs and peaches. The cabin has so much history and thoughtfulness in its decor. It really is so special. It had everything we needed for cooking and staying in. The yard is so big and secluded and we loved the fire pit. Our daughters and dog loved running free in nature and exploring. Just down the road is Deer Run Campground with a really nice pool, game room and store. The family that runs it was very welcoming. Thanks again Pam! We will be back.

A beautiful place

It was absolutely love. Love the history information and the fresh flowers were beautiful. The only suggestions that I would have. To replace the toilet with a tall handicap style toilet, toilet, and make sure that it was fastened well on the floor. Also provide a new mattress for the main floor bed Really hate to say anything about it because it was so lovely. Enjoy the peaceful. Thank you for providing this opportunity.

Beautiful country setting.

Very rustic as described. Could be updated some for more comfort. Gas ran out while we were there. Keurig didnt work. Emailed host and tried to call but no answer at all. First vrbo ive been asked to wash my own linens but charged a cleaning fee. Beautiful country setting and cabin was stocked with essentials, just not for comfort.

We were surprised to learn of these concerns through your review, as we were unaware you had stayed at the property and therefore did not have the opportunity to address the propane or Keurig during your visit. Had we been notified, we would have worked to resolve these issues as quickly as possible. Our checkout procedures, including the requested linen care, are provided before arrival so guests know what to expect. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to provide a comfortable experience for future guests.

Felt like home

If your looking for an authentic historic log cabin experience the "Old Cabin" will tic all the boxes. This place is warm and welcoming just as soon as you top the hill and see that red roof in the distance. Between 15 mins to an hr drive you will never run out of things to see, do or experience. Or you could take advantage of everything that comes with staying at the cabin. Walk to enjoy the two ponds, go fishing, (bring your own poles or use one of the ones from the front porch) or go to the pool at the campground. Nothing can disrupt your Zen while you're watching the flames from the fire in the LARGE fire pit, that comes with all the wood you could wish for. And Pam, the host is one of the most generous and nicest host that we have encountered yet, out of anyone we have booked with. She is genuinely committed to making sure her guests have the best stay they possibly can have and are lacking of nothing. I recommend to anyone to come and stay at the "Old Cabin". It is beautifully decorated with so many little treasures we were still discovering things we hadn't seen even after staying 4 nights. Look at how it was built and be in awe. Not many of these old cabins built this way are still standing. The beds are extremely comfortable and don't worry about getting cold. Not a chance. Pam has enough quilts up there to cover a small army. We are most definitely going to return as soon as possible..if my 7yr grandson had his way we would be returning tomorrow.
